how can i vote in the next election

I will be very surprised if the Conservative party remains as a single identity by the time of the next Scheduled general election. The splits and ideological divisions now run very deep within the party and a *break up" is now very much on the cards many political analysts now believe.

Already it is difficult to see the Tory party and this government as that single identity in much of its core beliefs and thinking.

Anja most impressive is the fact that there was not ONE death by stabbing in Glasgow in 2017.I believe that London have been having talks with Police Scotland to help with their knife crime problem.If you remember Glasgow was called the murder capital of Europe not so many years ago its a remarkable statistic.
My aunts and cousins are very envious of our SNP ,in fact one cousin is looking for ground up here to build a home ,she was born and bred just outside of Manchester .

SNP for me ,crime at a 40 year low,reoffending down 19% ,no tuition fees,maternity grants restored ,nursing bursaries restored and increased,pay rises for police and nurses,a decent policy on a REAL living wage and much more .Of course I believe in Independence so they are the only party who will get us that too.I'm just sorry my English family and friends dont have aSNP candidates an dso are they .

That’s ok those who don’t want to vote. It’s about time us old fogies let the younger generation have a say. We’ve had our day and we are just bed-blockers and a drain on the NHS. Stand aside, stay at home and moan.

I always vote and will continue to do so but I won’t vote for either of the main parties.

It is very tricky. I feel I must vote - women died to make it possible, but there is not one politician I would vote for at the moment.

I had assumed I was alone in considering not voting in any future election - it seems I'm not. I've never not voted, it's always been an intrinsic part of me that I vote, because people fought for that right for so long.

Yet now? I think I'd still go to the polling station/return a postal ballot, but I'd spoil it/leave it blank.

How has it come to this? What a tragedy.

Unfortunately the radical element of the trans community sees their rights as above and beyond womens.

And some politicians especially the Lib Dem’s support them.

Women don’t realise the peril we are facing as it’s been done very quietly.

Just to emphasise the impact of the above, if everyone can self ID and being a woman is "a feeling" then it renders "sex" no longer a protected characteristic and discrimination against women based on them being biological women no longer exists on paper.

Just let that sink in
All the developments that have over time worked to protect women from being discriminated on based in their sex become moot.

Self ID if liberal party policy so any man can self Id as a woman without any surgery/hormone/medical intervention and then be considered as a woman. Be able to access a female birth certificate and still in possession of a cock admittance to female prisons, refuges, etc. Also please see their non man policy so eradicating the term woman

I cant vote green they chose not to represent me when they advised some of their canvassers to refer to people as either men or non men cause "women" can be offensive

I was attracted to the Greens until I read their manifesto, the nitty gritty figures of their economic policy was frightening. They wanted to return to the monetarism that Mrs Thatcher espouse, although, that is not quite how they worded it. years. Look back to very early in the GN archives and you will find the thread.

I have been a member of the Libs/LibDems since 1962, but whether I could bring myself to vote for them given the succession of disastrous leaders they have had since the last election and the current leader, Vince Cable, would be prepared to deal with Labour, which I could never vote for.

At the meeting I went to, the Green candidate was the only one who talked about sustainable policies and how these could produce economic growth to 2050.
They may not have any policies that apeal to you, but they seem to be the only party thinking about the long-term future of this country, rather than what will win them the next election.

I wrote to my Lib Dem MP and got a very patronising dismissive response. I won't vote for her again. Or for SNP, Labour, Tories.... So who?!
I will turn up though in recognition of those suffragettes. Maybe we'll have an independent person with principles standing. I hope so.

A cooelition of Lib Dem’s and greens would be a lovely cozy meeting of woolly minds and ideas and absolutely nothing would be achieved.

Interesting thread and my thoughts entirely. I have no idea what to do. I feel a green vote is a waster vote and nothing to choose between the others. I feel disenfranchised by the fact we have a shower of ? to choose from. I realise others will disagree, but that is how I truly feel at the moment.

I usually vote tactically for the party that I think will do the best job for whatever situation the country is faced with at that time. I have no strong allegiance to any party. Should there be another GE in the near future, I will be voting for one of the smaller parties as I am completely scunnered by the infighting of the Conservatives which has resulted in the present Brexit shambles. I haven’t been able to vote for Labour since the Blair years moved it too far right for my taste and the present Corbyn/McDonnell combo does nothing to appeal to my inate socialism.
So it will be SNP, Greens or the LibDems for me.

Last time I went to the hustings to see what the different candidates were like.
The Labour candidate didn’t even offer an excuse for his absence. The UKIP man was a joke.
It was actually a close call between the incumbent Tory, the very impressive Green candidate, and the LibDem.

I shall see how things go. What I would like to see is a working coalition between the moderates of both main parties, with any Libdems or Greens with brains and integrity being invited in.

I’ll vote whichever way seems most likely to bring this about.

I will vote tactically to keep labour out (have previously voted labour but will do all I can to keep this incarnation out)
