to the GN site! Ever since Christmas I seem to dip in and out much more, I’m watching threads, have even instigated a couple myself (oh heck - now here’s another one!) and am generally on it more & more. Do I need help? Or just need to get a life/ a hobby/ out more? It’s just that some of the topics are so interesting! ?
I'm definatly addicted. . I spend so long reading I don't find time to post . No that's not strictly true I think I'm really nervous that nobody would be interested in my opinion .
I look most days when I'm around - much of interest but I don't like the family squabbles. I try to help with my contributions or have a laugh. Thanks, everyone.
Oh Merryweather you have a delight in store........well when I say 'delight' that might not be the right word. But it certainly entertained me and I sure learnt a thing or two.........but I still don't know what bdsm is and am a bit scared to look it up! Can someone give me a clue so I can work it out.........Ta!
Can anyone post a link to the spanking paddle thread. I can't find it and it sounds hilarious! I could do with a good giggle. Im in bed with flu, my four year old daughter has it too and afforded me a mere three hours sleep last night.
I am currently taking part in the 52 book challenge.
Don't do that to me, Parsley! I'm doing the challenge too and it's only 50 books (I had to check). This really matters as my diary tells me we're nearing the end of week 4 and I'm only halfway through book 3. The GN addiction has a lot to answer for!
I’ve also got a bossy phone ?. Thought I’d posted earlier but it’s not showing. Love the post made me laugh Urmston gran do you have anything to do with Urmston Manchester ?
Kim19 yes, I hate the occasional confrontations too. The advice from ‘Headquarters’I read when I first signed up was not to put in comments you wouldn’t make to someone if you were face to face with them. Hurtful comments aren’t what gransnet should be about. Genuine disagreement is ok , but not nastiness. If you can’t be helpful or humourous, don’t comment at all.
I'm not addicted but I enjoy it especially when I can't get out and its much better than fb. Its fun and people are helpful. I love when peoples personalities come through even when they're being annoying pedantic whatever. Must go will be late for hairdressers!
I hope you get out and about soon Anniebach . But I do enjoy your comments on Gransnet even though we sometimes disagree. If I lived close I would visit.
ag, I'm delighted to read you think it's harmless. On the odd occasions there are head to head confrontations and it's horrible. Of course, I take myself off immediately but it's not nice when it happens. I certainly don't mean differing opinions (like them for personal mind-broadening) but sometimes there is direct aggression and that's not for me. Ugh!
I am a huge GN fan and look in every day. The bit I like best is the sharing of useful information. I now have a wonderful cream to soothe the pain in my thumbs and I have started to read authors that I had not heard of but are GN recommendations. I am currently taking part in the 52 book challenge.
I thought it was me too and I do get out I don’t know why I haven’t told anyone I’m on GN but i love reading threads. Urmstongran can I ask if you have any connection with Urmston Manchester? Take care everyone
I LOVE GN and look forward to it every day especially in the Winter, its usually a pick up, some days I spend a long time on GN others just an hour or so. GN was recommended in an article in Womans Weekly a few years ago, it was about keeping your mind busy,I think it was an excellent suggestion, and its nice to have other virtual addicts to meet daily.Times up, see you tomorrow.
Looking into gransnet more and more since I got a (reconditioned) i-pad for Christmas. I use it as displacement activity. Should be making bread, vacuuming, washing at the moment.Have had some eye openers since starting to check in and have had great and humorous replies to the few things I have asked gransnetters about. I’m going to carry on looking in a couple of times a day. It’s harmless.
Well it's cheaper than going down the bookies! Seriously though - it's winter. When the days get warm and the gardens are growing life will be different. And it is lovely to talk to people with a similar outlook.
I have ms so I need to have a little rest inbetween activities like dogwalking or housework. Trouble is-- a ten minute break with a coffee and Gransnet can easily turn into a couple of hours!
Don't think I'm an addict but do try to pop in daily when time permits. Haven't even a clue how to access these other sites mentioned. If there's no topic that interests me or that I've a personal experience to contribute, I simply delete and wait until tomorrow. Must say I do have personal reasons to be grateful for it. First is my wonderful weight loss and I have made successful purchases as a result of recommendations and adverse comments here. I also love some of the clever humour and the reminiscences threads here. GN at its very best and I thank all contributors.
