Hi, I'm relatively new to Gransnet and am wondering what all these abbreviations mean. I can guess some e.g. DH -dear husband, GC - grandchildren, but would like to see a list if possible. I would feel confident in posting a proper thread of my own then

Hi scroge and welcome!
You will notice at the top of the page ‘acronyms’. If you click on that several well used ones will appear to assist you.
Look forward to your posts!

Welcome, sroge, you will find all the abbreviations at the top of the page, under the heading , ACRONYMS

It doesn't matter if you don't want to use the abbreviations.
Some do, some don't, and nobody minds. smile

And if GN, after many ignored requests, changed that heading from ACRONYMS (which they aren't) to ABBREVIATIONS (which is what they are) we wouldn't have this ongoing confusion!

Totally agree, MCEM, I was about to post that suggestion.

Definitely MissA ??
On a purely personal level I’m not keen on them, especially if it’s an involved post. I get very confused! I still can’t remem whether SIL is sister or son in law!!

You can posta proper thread of your own without abbreviations, sroge. They are just there for those who want to use them - not obligatory.
