What do people think about the young woman who ran away to join ISIS and now wants to return here to have her baby in safety?
I don't know what to think. I'm sorry her last babies died but I'm horrified to hear her dismiss unbelievers' heads in bins as 'enemies of Islam'. Any thoughts?

I think the brain washed narrative is quite mysogynistic actually. It denies her agency and it makes us feel better that women can’t be as evil as men especially a mother.

Gonegirl

Absolutely but we were discussing her at 15 and how 15 year olds act just now.

What she has gone through is really a luxury isn’t it compared to the many dead teenagers of Manchester.

And she said she was ok with that attack.

That’s as a 19 year old woman today not a 15 year old.

" I was a 'committed Christian' having 'accepted Jesus' at a brainwashing Billy Graham rally. "

" If there had been internet access to link up with either other like minded people or evil people who wanted to manipulate my fervour I might well have had my head turned."

If Billy Graham advocated going to America, get married to a stranger, be content to slaughter, crucify, behead , rape and enslave ALL those even of the Christian Faith would you seriously have thought that is the right path to take?

Bloody hell that is going some.

Gonegirl Mon 18-Feb-19 17:02:05

You haven't lived her life for the last three years mycat.

At 15 years of age and after leaving school I was working on a children's ward from which I had to be moved onto a babies prem. ward because of a smallpox case, then I had to be vaccinated for smallpox and TB.
Talk about learning fast and being thrown in at the deep end !

I got Asian flu instead.

Honestly would you think you would really have associated yourself with mass killings, beheadings, rapes, slavery and see a severed child’s head and shrug?

Honestly I don’t think any normal 15 year old brought up in the West would do that. She wasn’t from a war zone.

I too was pretty daft at 15 but no way would I have thought that was ok. And I can’t think of any of my friends who would or indeed my dds at 15.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 18-Feb-19 16:44:17

PECS I understand your logic, teenagers are always looking for that “special something”.

What I just cannot understand is why an intelligent young girl was happy to join up to Daesh. She had said she knew about the be heading, torture, raping of women and children, killing homosexuals and stoning.
Yet she still lied and deceived her family to travel to Syria.

PECS Mon 18-Feb-19 16:38:19

I was thinking of me aged 15. I had been at a boarding school until 18 months previously so may have been a little naïve and less worldly wise than my contemporaries at my new day school.

I was a 'committed Christian' having 'accepted Jesus' at a brainwashing Billy Graham rally. I was studying RE for O Level, went to church & church youth club regularly & could spout biblical texts for every occasion! I went on to run the school Christian Union. Religious fervour was rife in my life at that stage.
If there had been internet access to link up with either other like minded people or evil people who wanted to manipulate my fervour I might well have had my head turned.

the one from Bethnal is Shamima Begum. also mentioned in the Liverpool Echo.

Jalima1108 Mon 18-Feb-19 16:21:39

Sharmina was a student at Bethnal Green Academy and yes, she was married to a Dutch jihadi almost as soon as she arrived in Syria.
There are two girls mentioned; one mentioned in the Liverpool Echo is Sharmina Begum, the one from Bethnal is Shamima Begum.

TerriBull Mon 18-Feb-19 16:19:08

The Sunday Times ran an article yesterday in which they mentioned a former schoolgirl, from leafy Hampshire of all places, who has apparently been stripped of her British citizenship and is still holed up with the diehard jihadists in Syria. How does such a young person come to the conclusion that "the stoning of a woman is cool" presumably not if it happened to be her I imagine.

It does seem that returning Jihadists need a better PR strategy if they want to come back here, certainly to renounce the evils of the caliphate would be a start. Ms Begum clearly has very little perception of how her offhand comments as to the horror of seeing a severed head would be perceived, it's hard to make up one's mind, whether she has been completely desensitized or is just callous. That head belonged to someone's else's child, as a mother she ought to empathise with that at least.

The thread has moved on somewhat since I last posted having been immersed in looking after grandchildren since Saturday which does interfere somewhat in keeping up with GN and the news amongst other things, I will go back and read some of the other comments.

“SB has named her son “Jarrah” as her husband wanted.

Abu Udbaidah bin Jarrah launched a genocidal massacre of the entire Jewish population in Khaybar 1300 years ago”

Above being reported on by Sky News

EllanVannin Mon 18-Feb-19 15:52:09

It can't be the same girl that the Liverpool lad married as this girl married the Dutchman when she was 15.
He's a bad lot, the husband and is wanted in Holland for threatening to blow up a funfair/fairground having collected all kinds of ammunition.

Jalima1108 Mon 18-Feb-19 15:51:35

She is a different girl. The girl in that particular report was called Sharmina.

EllanVannin Mon 18-Feb-19 15:46:25

That's the one when you highlight the 7 who went to Syria it gives you their names.

The last pic of the young man is the one who married. Although it gives the spelling " Sharmina Begum " it's questionable whether this is the same girl or not.

Yesterdays Echo,Jalima.

Jalima1108 Mon 18-Feb-19 15:09:45

EllanVannin I have just looked at three different reports in the Liverpool Echo from 14th & 17th February and none give the facts as you stated in your post.

The Liverpool Echo gives the facts as we have been told by other reports in the msm.

I'm not sure where you read it.

Mycatisahacker Mon 18-Feb-19 15:09:14

If anyone is listening to LBC Sheila Fogherty is now discussing her full interview.

Manchester bombings were ok. The treatment of yazidi women ok!
If it’s Islamic it’s ok!

Jalima1108 Mon 18-Feb-19 15:01:26

I’ve just seen an up to date photograph, she looks unwell
Probably taken when she was very pregnant or had just given birth.

Mycatisahacker Mon 18-Feb-19 14:50:35
