I watched last night on BBC iplayer ' Abused by my girlfriend'.
Before watching I realised I had a perception it must be hard for a man to be physically abused by his girlfriend with retaliation, or simply leaving. And it had to be more difficult for females to leave. We hear so much about domestic abuse towards women, yet little about men.

I have to say it was one of the most powerful documentaries I've ever seen. I was reduced to tears, and came away with a totally different perception of men also being subject to horrendous domestic abuse, and recognised it's such a slow process of breaking down one person, their ability to see how awful it is changes, we make excuses, hope it will get better, believe we are worthless, until there isn't any fight in us.

It's taken me 18 months since separating from my husband to realise abuse has many different faces.

I agree. I watched this last week. My heart broke for that young man. Also, the girl seemed so genuinely sweet on the surface.
