I still miss my mum, who died in 1995. I really struggled with Mothering Sunday, seeing all the displays in the shops and not having a mum to buy for. She always used to send me a card on Mothering Sunday, I thought she was mad, but she signed it 'from one mum to another'. When my grandchildren arrived, I started buying cards for DD and DDIls, writing the same message in them. I am sure they think I am mad too, but it means I can go into cards shops around this time with a reason, it eases the pain to think mum's gesture is being carried on.
