Greyd Tara has an inbuilt clock for around 7pm, ruled by her bladder and her tum. That night when I thought the minx was still outside, she had crept upstairs to bed and I did not notice. I am usually preparing my evening meal ready to dine around 7.30pm. Tara does not lift her tail outdoors, not when she has a clean litter tray here.

kitty a leak is worrying- I hope it is nothing serious. The other news is really good and the young man has manners!

ann sad news about your friends. You can only offer advice if others take it or not it is up to them. At the moment DH and I are of the opinion that if either of us feels the other is going down the dementia path we will try and see G.P. at the earliest opportunity. Whether or not we are still of this opinion if and when the time comes will remain to be seen. I hope we are.
Some cannot cope with reality and think by ignoring the problem it will go away. You and I know it will not. You have done your best.

It has rained most of the day and I am extremely fed up.

Two very unsettling and upsetting phone calls today.
Both are friends I have known for 50 years, one didn’t seem to know what she was talking about, a very bad sign, she told me she has had 4 strokes and then said whatever is wrong with her she picked it up on the plane on the way back from holiday 5 weeks ago.
The other one I posted about a couple of weeks ago when her H was unwell, he has still not been seen by a Dr and she is not insisting even though I have urged her again.
She is going away this weekend and her S and DiL are coming to look after her H.
I just hope they realise he needs seeing and do something about it.

There has been good news here we have just booked a holiday for next May with our daughter , her husband and Cooper and Jackson. I don't know who is most excited !! Now I just have to wish the year away !!

Crikey, you lot slow down! Life has moved on apace. Actually, it is my fault - I appear to have been missing in action. No idea what happened. Maybe life. It has been Carer's Week and Volunteer's week and both have kept me out of mischief and off GN, not necessarily the same thing!

I have read everything and am TOYA. Loving the great photos.

Hopefully, the soops are having a fabulous break - with decent weather. And, also that the Panaches are making inroads!! I really don't envy you trying to downsize.

I feel sorry for those of you with battered gardens but not quite so sorry as I feel for us - our house sprang 2 leaks during the heavy rain. One in the newly refurbished playroom!

We have some good news. DD3's partner proposed on Saturday night (having asked Dh's permission!!!!) And, thankfully, she said yes! I expect them to run away and get married (guess who will be baby sitting!!) and then have a party when they get back. So, no hat shopping involved which is a huge relief to me at least.

And, DS1 has 'been seeing someone' for a while.

We're off to take Sam back to the vets with his poorly paw . He had a spiffy Fathers Day with Grampy yesterday and bought him a gift- Ive left a picture for you to have a chuckle. Both Grampy and I got roses for our respective days - I got Mum in a Million and Grampy got I love Dad and they are just blooming for the first time , so Ive added them too- they're glorious and scented.

Returned home yesterday from holiday in Croatia where it was hot and sunny. Dubrovnik is beautiful as is the coastline. Hotels in one village, Kupari, were shelled in the war and are now derelict but you can see the damage.
Thanks for the heads up on Wentworth Greyduster I am passing that way tomorrow with a bit of time on my hands. May be a chance to use my new NT membership!

Hello the kitchen - I am galloping to catch up again. Delighted to hear some good news of your move, Panache; it’s hard work downsizing I know.
Corner my garden has taken a real battering in the rain too. My usually very beautiful Bride and Groom rose is a sorry, soggy mess and so are a lot of the bedding plants.
Izabella that cake looks the business - I do love a good sandwich cake with plenty of filling!
Gq that is a lovely and very happy photo of you and your dad. I don’t have any photos of my dad and I together (perhaps he was always taking them!), which is a sad thing, but I do have a nice photo of him on our living room wall, underneath one of GS.
Charlie I was relieved to hear Tara had made her way home eventually. You need to buy her a watch!
We had a visit to Wentworth Castle Gardens yesterday, which is near here and now under the auspices of the NT. the house itself is some sort of educational establishment so not open to the public, but the park, the gardens and particularly the conservatory, are lovely. The conservatory was featured in a television programme where various projects were vying for Heritage Lottery funds, and it was awarded a large grant. The money has been very well spent. The formal gardens are still a work in progress and we missed a trick by not going when the rhododendrons were still in flower because they would have been wonderful. We will go again on a quieter day, take a picnic and do the lakes and the deer park. Here are a couple of photos.

Sad news NannyT, I hope that they manage to get back in time.

Gosh, what a busy kitchen! Hope Soop has a lovely break and great to hear from Panache. We picked up the granddog yesterday and DD and SiL flew off on holiday for two weeks. Today, his sister was given three weeks, so they are coming home as soon as they can. She has had cancer, which began as breast cancer, for several years and has kept fighting, changing chemo etc as it has gradually spread. The chemo has stopped working and suddenly she has deteriorated so very quickly. Sad times.

Evening All. We saw some sunshine today, very windy and a shower or two, our back lawn is pink, the poor climbing rose has given up the fight to hold onto its petals. There are buds waiting to open, isn’t nature wonderful?

Thank you for taking the time to update us panache. We also shrank our home and contents by over 50%, so I understand how painful the process can be. Keep thinking to the future, your new home will be safer and less stressful for you both so you can finally relax and worry less. Nearly there

Tara is a tricky miss charley, she likes to keep you on your toes.

I slept well last night and plan to do the same tonight, the really bad nights tend to come alone, something for which I am truly grateful.

Panache, what an ordeal it is moving house - even when one's in good health and full strength, it's exhausting and debilitating. I hope the next couple of weeks won't take too much out of both of you. May you be happy and settled before too long.
I hope the Soops are having a good time on their Highland fling. June is supposed to be the best time to see those parts, though I don't know if that holds good this year.

GrannyQ, you`re right, dreams can be very strange. People appear in the oddest situations and locations, but it seems so believable in the dream!
