I can take or leave the royal family but what I can’t take are lies about anyone Pippa you should be ashamed of yourself. Are we allowed to lie on GN?

NanaKay58. No thanks, I'm a British Republican, but Trump comes close to making me a royalistgrin

Tell you what, all you people complaining about Meghan, let's trade.
Send Harry, Meghan and Archie to the US and we'll send you Trump and his wife. Deal?

absthame Sun 07-Jul-19 23:38:53

Pippa22, do you propose a public vote on who is or is not a suitable spouse for all members of that family?

Not that concerned about their behaviour outside public view. But in most successful marriages I know of, the wives are dominant but engineer things such that the husband believes that he does smile

The argument about leaving them to get on with their lives without being in the public gaze only holds true if a) they withdraw from public life and b) from the public purse. At the moment they seem to want the best of both worlds - Muggins the public pay for their lifestyle while they occasionally throw us scraps so we can admire how wonderful they are. All taken from the Saint Diana playbook as far as I can see

Mapleleaf Sun 07-Jul-19 20:32:45

Of course she doesn’t, but she’ll have opinions, and quite rightly so.

Anniebach Sun 07-Jul-19 20:19:33

James Hewitt came after Barry Manakee

merlotgran Sun 07-Jul-19 20:07:54

Diana didn't meet James Hewitt until after Harry was born. He was their riding instructor.

trisher Sun 07-Jul-19 20:07:32

Oh don't spoil the fun! I've alway thought it quite funny that there might be a cuckoo in the Royal nest.

Day6 Sun 07-Jul-19 20:04:58

Oh come on. Harry's blood and a dna sample were taken the minute he was born! The royals like to preserve their line!

Harry looks VERY like Charles in some photos.

If Diana's dalliance with Hewitt had led to pregnancy, she would have terminated it immediately.

Both Charles and Diana were able to work out when they were intimate. The Spencer line has a lot of ginger in it. I think baby Archie in his Christening gown looked almost a replica of Harry when he was christened. I think it is mean to cast aspersions about his parentage.

I can just imagine the photographer saying "Sorry can I just take another ? You weren't quite ready."
Someone quick as a wink replies "Why? They'll have a field day whatever we release."
Everyone laughs and in full agreement gets up to enjoy the splendid meal awaiting them.
grin

RosieLeah- how unkind are you. Leave them alone and et old gossip go. Get a life.

Bridgeit Sun 07-Jul-19 19:25:38

I’m speechless!

RosieLeah Sun 07-Jul-19 19:23:43

For some time, there has been speculation that 'Prince' Harry is not the son of Prince Charles. His behaviour would suggest that this is in fact true. He is doing his best to detach himself from the rest of the Royal family. His choice of bride, the name he has given his son, his whole attitude suggests that he knows he isn't really royal. It would be best if he gave up the pretence, stopped receiving his allowance from the privy purse and retired to living what he regards as a 'normal' life. We, the British public pay these people wages from our taxes and we are entitled to get something in return. The secretive christening shows contempt for the public, and his choice of bride shows contempt for his royal status.

watermeadow I take umbrage at “chav names”

Bridgeit Sun 07-Jul-19 19:16:50

I think that’s called ‘ inverted snobbery ‘

Bridgeit Sun 07-Jul-19 18:57:52

Chav names ???!!!!

jaylucy Sun 07-Jul-19 18:57:29

Half of what several have posted is pure supposition.
Quite frankly, I don't blame them for not wanting to turn their child's birth into a circus or the christening either.
To some extent the Cambridges have to be more visible as William is next in line for the throne after the Prince of Wales. I'd guess they had the choice to do the appearance on the steps of the hospital after the birth of their 3 children but there were not any videos or photos of the actual christening for their children either.
Just because Harry and Meghan are not making appearances like a couple of performing seals does not mean that Meghan is calling the shots at all - I would guess that it is more Harry and I don't understand why anyone would think otherwise and perhaps they should keep their spiteful thoughts to themselves!

watermeadow Sun 07-Jul-19 18:56:34

I had to laugh at the reference to their “cottage”
Probably eight bedrooms, swimming pool, acres of manicured garden, a staff of twenty.
They’re living the lives of movie stars at our expense (proved by the chav names of the baby)
Well, he’s a younger son and of no importance but why should we keep them in idleness?

dizzygran Sun 07-Jul-19 18:43:27

oh my. knives out for Meghan. How about we leave her andHarry alone They will make mistakes but they seem kind and caring and Archie looks adorable.

Bridgeit Sun 07-Jul-19 18:16:56

Apart from the luxury aspect which maybe a few but not all GNetters May enjoy , just a family like the rest of us then, !?

Day6 Sun 07-Jul-19 18:10:28

Harry must feel so hurt by these hateful comments about the woman he loves

He is surrounded by friends, family and celebs, who probably have them believing they and their baby are the world's most loved-up family.

Harry is not scouring the papers and Gransnet for reviews. The nice reports in certain publications are all they'll see.

They can dismiss the chatter if it does drift their way and not give a fig. (It is all speculation, after all.) We are not worthy. They live in luxury with few real cares behind fortified walls where the M&H inner circle - and no doubt lots of sycophants - are enough for them. Imagine the after-Christening gathering. Lots of champers, jollity, upper class pals and chat.

Who needs opinion columns? Not M&H.

Bridgeit Sun 07-Jul-19 17:28:21

Summerlove, you are right she will never win.
Those that have taken against will continue to do so & will go on for years
Makes me curious as to why these posters torture themselves by seemingly watching & reading about every move M& H make .
