I used to think well of Meghan, but now.....?

What does the title of this thread even mean? ,Meghan is starting to call the shots, ?
Where what & how did you arrive at this assumption?
So she had her engagement ring altered ? Is that a crime? Obviously there was a reason ,does it matter .?
I can understand some object to the cost of alterations to Frogmore house, but not to it being altered , we all do that too.
Hand on hearts you Grannies, how did you all behave once you were married, did none of you decided on the decor of your homes, or insist you just couldn’t stand to have a present from your mother-in- law on permanent display ! Or worse still live with or too close etc.
In my experience most men go along with it for two reasons, 1 . They don’t actually care & 2. Anything for a quite life . ! ( more chance of them getting the thumbs up for a bit of footy, rugby a quite pint or a game of polo! )

I find the nastiness of the Press's treatment of Meghan and Harry and other members of theRF utterly abhorrent, and some of the posts on here are equally as sickening. I'm with Whitewave.

I am not a huge fan of the Royals but they are hugely popular and in general do a good job. I would welcome a thinning dow n of the lesser royals. Harry is William's brother so not a minor. Both brothers and their wives do their bit and deserve their well earned privacy. Their relationship with the press is wholly understandable given what happened to their mother. And it was a particularly crass and stupid comment made by someone that it was Diana and Dodi's own fault for wanting to cross to the other side of Paris that night. Really.

So. All things being equal, or not, then I am happy that the Royals to an extent are publicly funded. The majority of the British public want them so IMHO that's fine.

I would ask here whether those who have commented on the supposed anecdotes of Meghan and Harry re their relationship, what they do etc, etc do you have inside information as to the minutiae of their lives, are you a fly on the wall inside royal residences or do you naively believe what you read in the gutter press?

There is very little real evidence (actually none with any weight) of Williams affair even though the US press have taken it as gospel and run with it

Was she? Not cancelling engagements to countries with Zika warnings sends the wrong messages to others re ignoring the warnings! Things would have been made safe and secure for her but other visitors to those places wouldnt have those protections.

Especially first time mums who think there is kudos in doing what they would do if not pregnant. Except M would have had on hand physicians and first class seats and space to put her feet up in transit so her risks would be reduced

Didn't seem quite the same without the queen and the dukes presence. Her Majesty, we were led to believe, would be carrying out other pre arranged duties.

I am not sure but Harry bought Meghan a ring after the birth of Archie. Maybe this is the one that people are saying she 'redesigned' and, therefore, not her engagement ring?

Just some thoughts ...
The baby shower was paid for by her American friends - not Meghan (or us). Frogmore Cottage belongs to the Crown not them and, by reports I've read, needed a great deal of updating. (Do we expect our Royal Family to buy fixtures & fittings at B&Q?) Kate & William have their own problems (judging by what my American friends read about them in their own press - not published here). And, if true, the obviously very much in love Harry & Meghan will be difficult to be around. Kate never even had a proper job whilst hanging around waiting to become William's wife, whereas Meghan had her own life and career, and her own money. They are completely different people but it doesn't make one "better" than the other. Given how Harry's mother died (being pursued by the press) it's hardly surprising that he is being super-protective about his own wife and child. Personally, I'm glad that he's found someone to make him happy, and wish people would stop clicking on the latest made up "scandal" and believing this rubbish.

Gets on with her life without announcements of no announcements.

Lives on her mother estate, Harry has three residences , Frogmore, Buck House snd s country manor in the Cotswolds.

For everyone is saying that it’s horrible they haven’t released photos of the babies face until today, I don’t recall seeing any official photos of Zara Tindell’s youngest child. She is a grand daughter of the queen as well, where is all the vitriol for them not posing all of the staged photos? Zara grew up with Much more privacy because she didn’t have a title. Isn’t it probable that that’s what Harry would like for his child?

So much hate for Meghan for “wearing the pants” and calling Harry weak. It makes me despair for strong daughters and granddaughters. Apparently, even now, only men are praised for knowing their own minds.

Oh good grief. Can’t believe the bitchiness around someone none of us knows. The only so called information we get is from skewed, biased media reports who either support or rail against Harry, Meghan or both - often supporting and attacking on the same day. I’ve noticed contradictory reports every week on he said, she said, then completely denied. Gossip from so called acquaintances, clearly trying to make money and based on no facts. The press are DESPERATE for stories and couldn’t care less whether they are true or rampantly false.
Is there anyone here who actually knows this couple? Is there anyone here who is basing their opinions on actual known facts?
They seem like a perfectly pleasant couple who have recently married and have a new baby. I hope they ignore all the biased, bigoted, intrusive, vitriol and get on with their lives.

If they are happy with their relationship then surely that's what matters ?? It's got nothing to do with anyone else and Pheonix has a right to her opinion, course she does but the gossip mongers of ALL media, UK, International and Social media will feed us what they want to sell.
There's no sentiment in business remember, sentiment is a kindness and being kind or gentle is quickly being squeezed out of some people.

One of the reasons Meghan looks stylish in whatever she wears and however she poses is her mixed race skin tone. She's probably a dress designer and photographer's dream.
