Hello all,

As the title says, reallly.

Starting to think she calls the shots hmm and Harry goes along with it.

Why is the party line “Meghan dropped her father and treated him horribly” and not “Thomas Markle tried to use his daughter for fame and got caught”?

Is is because most people here are closer in age to him and relate? This has always confused me. From where I sit, her father and sister are horrific people who are out to rip her to shreds for daring to have her own life.

I think some folks just like to be unpleasant about those they deem unfit to be “royal “, nothing they do will be good enough. The fact that H and M have done royal engagements and tours and have plenty coming up is not recognised, if they were splashing their lives all over the gossip magazines that would be criticised as vulgar, the fact that they are trying to protect their child is similarly deemed unacceptable. I am definitely no royalist but all this nasty bitching makes me defend them.

Annie, “Gets on with her life without announcements about announcements”. Summed up beautifully and succinctly.

Still wondering why it’s all right to lie Pippa.

Beckett Mon 08-Jul-19 08:08:39

As I understand it the only court records involving Meghan's mother are her divorce and her bankruptcy. Her employment as a social worker would have been subject to an extensive background check. If she had been in prison she would certainly have have been employed. I suggest Pippa either provide proof or retract her statement before GN can be accused of and sued for libel.

"if she had been in prison she would certainly not have been employed"

summerlove Megan didn’t introduce Harry to her father,
They flew to Africa for a holiday but couldn’t be bothered to
fly to Mexico . The father was ignored, the family were hurt .

DorisDay99 Mon 08-Jul-19 08:24:44

I personally think that the press have a lot to do with public perception - she has had a whirlwind of a year, and with her dysfunctional family I cannot really blame her for wanting to take a step back - William and Kate spent far more money on their home, and no one is getting on the 'press fuelled bandwagon.' I think her time will come once Archie is a little older.

Whitewavemark2 Mon 08-Jul-19 08:30:18

The ONLY information people have on here is from the press and the rags at that. So why on Earth they are so gullible as to regurgitate all the sap they read is beyond me.

They have behaved no different from the other royals, but idiots on here faithfully reproduce all the rubbish they read or indeed lie as “fact” it is pathetic.

I am a republican, but I can smell rubbish when it’s thrown about.

Harry and Megan had an apartment in KP, William and Kate live there, Diana and Charles lived there, Margaret and
Armstrong -Jones lived there .

Wasn’t suitable for Harry and Megan , they wanted to live out of London, after they moved they wanted a place in London so now have an apartment in Buck House.

KP was suitable for the heir to the throne and is suitable to
second in line to the throne .

barbaranrod Mon 08-Jul-19 08:46:06

yes i agree with Annie, it seems to me ,she Meghan ,is bringing show business into Royalty ,and it will not work ,,our Royalty is brilliant at what it does Kate and William have it spot on ,,i used to think Harry would be the same ,unfortunately her show business pals have won him over ,,he has to remember ,they dont pay his bills ,we as taxpayers do

suziewoozie Mon 08-Jul-19 09:03:42

And while Pippa’s at it, she can explain what nasty little part of the internet gave her the ‘information’ that led her to say that Meghan had been married at least once - two nasty little words those ‘ at least’ which should be deleted.

EllanVannin Mon 08-Jul-19 09:12:19

_______Tsk, all because the girl made good !!

Bridgeit Mon 08-Jul-19 09:13:48

Aside from views on ‘The House’
Aside from ‘ Opinions on her family relationships’
What exactly is it that some you don’t approve of ? as far as I can see she hasn’t behaved badly, hasn’t been offensive & has conducted her self in an appropriate manner when attending official functions.

Grandma70s Mon 08-Jul-19 09:18:05

I just can’t see any American, regardless of background, as a real princess. An American princess is almost a contradiction in terms.

A title is a title, being titled & / or entitled to use a title is well just a ummm a title.
Basically the only thing that is real about any of us is that we are ALL human beings.
If we can also strive to be decent humans & do what we can within our own backgrounds then all of us will be majestic.

Anniebach Mon 08-Jul-19 10:19:32

The royal family like all families have a home life and a job.

This is how it has always been. When we take on a job we conform to the rules of the employment. The royal family do the same. Harry and Megan are not separating the two.
Feminists admire Megan for not taking the job of wife to a royal forgetting the monarch is female and her husband took the job of husband

Annecan Mon 08-Jul-19 10:24:20

Bluebell they can do whatever they want but not with taxpayers money. Stop their hypocrisy..telling us to care for the environment when their carbon footprint is enormous. Act with dignity and stop viewing themselves as celebrities (harry is obviously star struck)
Support worthy but less well supported and therefore less ‘sexy ‘ causes (for example loneliness in the elderly and the plight of young forgotten males)
Then they may get some respect rather than our contempt

EllanVannin Mon 08-Jul-19 10:29:34

Erm, tax-payers money ? Why, has anyone seen a drop in their personal money because of it ?? No, of course not.

EllanVannin Mon 08-Jul-19 10:31:03

If it was a Republic you'd see a vast change in your financial situation so stop whingeing.

newnanny Mon 08-Jul-19 11:20:10

All this secrecy is a ploy to grab more attention. It is ridiculous. If you are a royal and paid as such, then you will be in public eye. Better to smile graciously, pose for photo and say nothing as Kate does.

Marguerita Mon 08-Jul-19 11:27:32

That may be so but the christening picture says it all. Prince Harry even chose the seat used at his own christening and his mother was duly honoured by her two sisters being godparents. He's pulled it off as, we the public who help to pay for his privileged life, were becoming tired of what seemed to becoming his disregard for what is expected of a royal prince with casual American lifestyle attitudes taking over.

EllanVannin Mon 08-Jul-19 11:38:15

I'd rather pay tax for the Royals than pay for a Ugandan lesbian asylum seeker whose being flown back to the UK at the tax-payers expense-------because she was found in bed there, with a man !!

Apricity Mon 08-Jul-19 11:39:33

Grans please, I can't believe some of the seriously nasty crap on this thread. Some of the posters sound like the sad old crones around the village well centuries ago, whispering and hissing, bad mouthing and slandering all the pretty young ones in the village.

If you don't support having a Royal Family and all the associated costs and hoo ha in the UK then argue the case for the alternatives. Britain has had a Royal Family for around a thousand years with a brief interregnum in the mid 17th century that no one seems keen to reproduce. If you don't like it do something constructive to change things rather than personal attacks on unbelievably trivial things - she patted her stomach when she was pregnant!!!!

Some of the nasty, petty comments about Meghan are just appalling. The comments made about personal things and hypothetical relationship issues that Grans could not possibly have knowledge of other than parroting the scurrilous trash reports of the the gutter press are truly gobsmacking.

And this comes from an Aussie who would love to see Oz as a Republic in my lifetime but accept that it is probably not going to happen.

Some of the Grans posting here seriously need to get a life of their own.

Anniebach Mon 08-Jul-19 11:43:40

Apricity you were not sitting around a village well
centuries ago ? seriously you need to control your imagination
