Hello all,

As the title says, reallly.

Starting to think she calls the shots hmm and Harry goes along with it.

SirChenjin Tue 09-Jul-19 10:33:11

No it’s not Miss - data protection laws don’t cover taking photos of public figures in public places

I wonder if she’ll appear at the Windsor Horse Show in a covered sedan chair?

Anniebach Tue 09-Jul-19 10:32:47

It has always been done, if she wants to avoid cameras best she retires

MissAdventure Tue 09-Jul-19 10:29:10

I think it is a data protection issue to take unsolicited photos.
I wouldn't imagine that particular law is different for royalty.

Anniebach Tue 09-Jul-19 10:27:13

Hope she doesn’t go to the Windsor Horse Show, queenie in her skirt, brogues and head scarf, Kate and children sitting on the grass with Zara and children

SirChenjin Tue 09-Jul-19 10:22:03

I don’t think it matters what class you grow up in when it comes to managing the media or your PR. I’d argue that Meghan is far more adapt at presenting the image she wants us to see.

That’s pretty shocking about Wimbledon grin She’s in for a shock if she thinks she can stop people taking photos when she’s at national events in whatever capacity she chooses to attend.

Anniebach Tue 09-Jul-19 10:17:13

Kate was there earlier in the week , people took photographs

Beckett Tue 09-Jul-19 10:15:50

Kate, Sophie, Fergie, Diana , Camilla - all had grown up in similar circles - unlike Meghan who has no experience of moving in "upper class" society (a phrase I hate but can't think of another way to describe that circle). Being able to speak in public or pose for photographs is no training for becoming a member of the RF.

Gonegirl Tue 09-Jul-19 10:13:03

You might not be able to see that, but at Wimbledon a fan had been taking photos of Serena Williams when she noticed Meghan in the same row as her. Took a quick photo and was tapped on the shoulder by a royal protection officer and told "the duchess was here in a private capacity".

Gonegirl Tue 09-Jul-19 10:08:40

No photos please. hmm

Anniebach Tue 09-Jul-19 10:03:15

Need reassurance? How did the others manage ?

Kate, Sophie, Fergie, Diana , Camilla , they hadn’t addressed
The UN , appeared on the celebrity red carpets , posed for
photo shoots .

Need reassurance ? No way

SirChenjin Tue 09-Jul-19 09:45:26

Gaffes even!

SirChenjin Tue 09-Jul-19 09:43:50

In which case trisher they should probably sack the PR company they’re using because it’s made some fairly significant gaffs.

Sorry Gonegirl grin

Beckett Tue 09-Jul-19 09:39:55

They are practically newly-weds, of course they hold hands. She is a strong confident woman but is in a situation which she has no training for or experience of - so may need the reassurance hand holding gives her. I wonder how any of us would act if in that position.

Their every action is noted and criticised. Recently there was a film of Harry appearing to ignore Meghan when she spoke to him - shouts of "trouble in paradise"

They release pictures - accused of courting publicity. They don't release pictures - accused of ignoring the public. Seems to me they can't win.

trisher Tue 09-Jul-19 09:34:05

Sorry Gonegirl I 'm sure your unicorns will be happily rehomed somewhere!

trisher Tue 09-Jul-19 09:32:07

SirChenjin the whole purpose of PR teams is to sell whoever or whatever they are employed by, who or what the reality is has absolutely nothing to do with things.

Gonegirl Tue 09-Jul-19 09:29:17

Oh, don't be mean. She does love him! (don't take my unicorns away)

SirChenjin Tue 09-Jul-19 09:26:02

I think Meghan and Harry very much control their PR machine - so what we see from them is very much who they are and what they stand for

trisher Tue 09-Jul-19 09:22:32

To clarify matters it is the RF as a body I hate, individual members I have no feelings about because I don't actually know any of them. I also find it very strange that some people seem to think they do know them, and not only know them but like and dislike things about them. Just because you see pictures in the papers and read what they are doing is nothing to do with them as people it's all part of the publicity machine which surrounds them. And maybe none of them can hellp being born into the firm but they could all choose to walk away.

SirChenjin Tue 09-Jul-19 09:21:10

I agree Anniebach, the whole hanging off him feels like an act for the cameras to show just how much she loves her man.

Anniebach Tue 09-Jul-19 08:47:17

Megan will not be allowed to write for a magazine it will increase their sales

merlotgran Mon 08-Jul-19 23:05:00

I'm more likely to trip over my own feet if I walk slowly. grin

Callistemon Mon 08-Jul-19 22:57:44

I have to get a bit of speed up these days or my knees start yanging.
Does that help, merlot?
I must try it but try not to trip over at the same time.

Anniebach Mon 08-Jul-19 22:53:49

Expect she does, but I do think the public displays of
affecting are staged , perhaps the actress in her and I am not being unkind , it’s so over the top

Bridgeit Mon 08-Jul-19 22:53:01

Yes Gonegirl , if she didn’t hold on to him , she would be criticised for that.
I am not a fervent follower of Royalty, film stars , pop stars etc, but I do so dislike the ‘build them to knock them down attitude ‘
We the public are such a fickle bunch ?

Gonegirl Mon 08-Jul-19 22:38:30

I think she does love him. That's why she's always hanging onto him.
