Apart from a good sprinkling of rain earlier today, the weather has remained summery. Sun shinining. a gentle breeze.

I have looked long and hard on the website for which I've been given a voucher. Thousands of possibilities. Nothing makes me go "wow"...hence, I have logged off for now.

Good morning all. Sorry I haven't been around. Had an emergency at work with one of our tenants rushed in to hospital. I have been doing long shifts and even went in on my day off.

Very belated happy birthday dear soop* and the photos of you and Macsporran are lovely. It's great to put a name to kind faces.

I wish you could have been to the textile fete with me, there was a lovely atmosphere and I like nothing better than having a good root around. Have bought a riot if colours and patterns ready to make patchwork quilts this winter, in the dark evenings for the GC. Going to get my 'designer' pencil out after their visit and have a go at sorting the quilt shapes and patterns.

Have been reading about dear kitcheners in a catch up and send love and kind thoughts to all. Mightn't be able to post a lot whilst our visitors are with us but will be TOYA. XXX

Hello my darlings. It's a blustery, dreich day. No walkies for me, so I've been doing housewifey stuff - vaccing, polishing, washing utility floor, changing bed linen and stuffing stuff into the washing machine. As I said - stuff!

Carillion I have a passion for textiles. Would have loved to have been able to work with such. I can well imagine you being in seventh heaven.

Good morning! A mixed morning so far at chez Izabella. Post it notes i laboriously wrote last night in order to post now were put in a safe place. Where that may be escapes me. Mr. I had to work the shower again as I just could not work it out and several items of clothing put on inside out which is weird as I am sure they were right to start with ?. As they say, some of the synapses are working, just not at the right time or in the right order.

HOWEVER

I note in my tardiness I omitted to wish soop a very happy birthday. I sincerely hope the day went well with treats, calories and associated excitement.

Today my objective is to cook the Sunday roast without either incident or catastrophe (I love that word) Chicken already stuffed by Mr I who is also in charge of gravy (long story) Wish me well.

On the other hand I completed the Telegraph crossword yesterday in one bash and in record time. There is just no knowing with Al (zheimer) how he is going to strike from day to day.

Blue skies, a light breese moving through dancing leaves on the trees and - magpies everywhere.

I did the Telegraph crossword for years but rarely managed to finish it. Somehow stopped reading papers now - I pick up all the news I want to on the Internet.

Stair rods falling from the sky here at the moment. At least I won't have to water the garden - in fact most of my plants have drowned. I realised I had unspent vouchers from a local garden centre yesterday so bought a very nice white hydrangea which is loving this weather. Good thing I noticed as they have changed hands (yet again) and the vouchers would have been lost.

Oh Panache could do with one of your firemen here to raise the spirits.

Not much on today just a CT scan to find cause of intermittent back ache. Amazing they work on a Sunday. I do hope our NHS keeps its head above water.

Which of you lot has been slumming it in that den of iniquity - The Argy Bargy?. I am well shocked. Were you chaperoned? Did you wear sensible clothing? Did you touch the poteen? Well, the thought of it has brought on a mega hot flush.

I need to log off in order to restore my equilibrium. In fact, I may need to pedal on the exercise bike that goes nowhere fast before a stiff G&T at six o'clock.

I shall be TOYA (especially those who have stepped across the Argy B's threshold).

Just a quick pop in , all is now ready here for the round trip tomorrow to pick up 'erbert, sherbert and their Mummy. So I shall be away for the week mostly I suspect as our well ordered routine descends into the chaos we know and love.

It is a sunny day. There is a refreshing breeze. We have visitors coming this afternoon. I expect that I should look for the duster and polish and do some serious housework.

Afternoon all Kitcheners. I've been AWOL for a few days and have been hastily reading the posts.
Hope all survived the rain and gales. I did go into town on Saturday as I received a call from the Opticians to say that my glasses were ready. When I got there, the server was down so I couldn't pay by card and I wasn't going to go to the 'hole in the wall' to draw out the cash in that gale - imagine the carnage.

I am not amused. We went to the local M&S outlet this morning as I wanted to return something. While making my way through the store a girl of about 16/17 narrowly avoided knocking into me, she seemed oblivious. The man with her called after her to say ' you nearly knocked that old lady over' - I'm 64! And to add insult to injury, he had more grey hair than me. DH was highly amused when I told him, I am not.

On the way home we called in the Opticians and my glasses were ready, I had prescription sunglasses as well under the bogoff offer, only they weren't sunglasses but clear glass, so they now have to be tinted. The assistant was very apologetic and the sunniest will be ready on Wednesday, just in time for the heavy rain which is forecast. Oh well....

Greyduster thank you so much for identifying my plant, what a grand name it has. It will no longer be called 'that pink flower'. Hope your daughter and family arrived home safely from their holiday. The photos of the deer at Wentworth Castle are lovely. I will try the banana and walnut tea bread, it looks delicious.

It's good to have you back, Lins1066. That was quite a palarva you had in the opticians and the supermarket. 64 is the new 54* That girl was a mere child of 6. She needs to be taught some decent matters.

Gorgeous day. MacSporran cutting the lawn. I'm about to ride the exercise bike. We'll be meeting son number three in Glasgow in a few days. I need to shift a wee bit of weight from my waist in order to do justice to the jeans that I'm planning to wear.

Visitors may arrive soon. I am praying that they do not bring ...I must not eat it, if they do. MacSporran will be having double portions. He remains slender no matter what.

You lot certainly bring a big smile to my face and thank you all.
However like yourself dear Lins1066 I would not be amused by that remark either.........the cheek of some folk whom obviously never stop to think before speaking.
As for the young girl in question,she has joined the dash me brigade!!!
We have both found over latter years a simple gentle walk along,be it on a pavement or in a store is just no longer safe.Too many with phones stuck to their ears,minds anywhere but on their walk,whilst oldies with trolleys or young mums with buggies............all culprits that make us cringe sometimes.Sadly thought for others is lacking totally.

I hope I get better luck when eventually I get a time slot allowing me to get my poor eyes tested.......my vision is fast diminishing, and if anything I see better without my specs these days.Worrying when you find you can no longer see and sort out colours,just as well my dear one had his hand in sorting out our decor here or goodness knows what scheme we would have ended up with!

Although we had a fair share of the wind,we again escaped much rain and are again enjoying sunshine,though there is now a slight hint of autumn in the mornings.

We wonder what this week`s viewing might bring us as following 1 last Friday,another today,we have a third on Wednesday and 2 booked in for friday.............we really do need mother luck to shine upon us.

I was a big crossword fan Izabella but since our fortune has been less lucky of late I really have not got the time,so I bet I will be extremly rusty when next I try to do one.I was never that good but felt greatly uplifted if I coped well............but completing the Telegraph is definately out of my league!!!

Life continues to be dictated by several weekly trips to the Surgery and although we enjoy the sea view,I would be happier staying put.Already in another week it will be man`s turn for further treatment.How time flies by.

That was an exceptionally rude child Lins and, as for the carer in Dragonfly's Mum's care home - she should be sacked forthwith. I've met dragonfly and can assure you she does not look anything like the sister of a 98 year old! Any result from the CT scan dragonfly?

I know you will have a lovely family time N&G but don't forget about us, will you!

Izabella, I hope the Sunday lunch was delicious - sure it was. It made me fancy roast chicken.

We have had a busy few day. We had Bertie for a few days and then went to see DD2 with her 2 girls. We went for a carvery as it is the girl's favourite lunch. The one we went to had turkey chicken, beef chicken and bacon chicken! They thoroughly enjoyed it but DH and I found it dry and rather unappetising. They then went camping for the weekend, the tent leaked and the campsite became a quagmire. And, when they got home the cat was missing as it had escaped through a window that DSIL had inadvertently left open. Luckily they found it quite quickly.

Another daughter has gone camping on the West Coast of Scotland and is now frantically trying to find a rented cottage as the forecast is appalling.

We are staying at home!!
