My daughter told me about a friend of hers who is launching a some Christmas crackers this year called Crackers without the Crap. Apparently they are plastic free and filled with bee friendly seeds which I thought was a lovely idea. I know there is a crowdfunding campaign gor them so I will be asking DD for the link to support it. Anyway, as soon as I heard the name I thought I would never forget it! I got to thinking of other clever comapny names or taglines that stick in your memory, I remember once visiting a chip shop called the Codfather!

I buy my toilet rolls/tissues from a company called Who gives a crap. They’re originally Australian so they use that word freely. I like them because they use recycled paper, don’t use any plastic and donate 50% to building toilets in under developed countries. The writing on their packets is also amusing and can be recycled too. A few friends have been a bit shocked at the name which is on each wrapper ?

I’ve seen a dog-walking service called Houndstretchers.

Many years ago I was driving through Harrogate and saw a builders van with what has to be the best name ever - I have never forgotten it.

Khan & Brother - you’ve tried the Cowboys now try the Indians.

It still makes me chuckle to this day. I don’t live near there and don’t need any builders, but under different circumstances I would probably have used them just because of the name!

The lovely dog groomers I used to take my Maltese Terriers (RIP) to on the Isle of Sheppey was called Doggy Style.

This one has a lengthy explanation - but stick with it!...…

The stop before last on the Liverpool Northern train line is Edge Hill. So, 'getting off at Edge Hill' is a very well known euphemism for the withdrawal method of contraception.

At Broadgreen railway station there is a scaffolding company called Climax. Their sign reads " Why get off at Edge Hill when there is a Climax at Broadgreen!"

Very witty - or is it just scouse humour?

For those who know cockney rhyming slang I think there's still a pub in London called Brahms and Liszt.

There's also the suggested name for solicitors - Wright Hassall.

There is an estate agent in Kidderminster with the genuine name of Doolittle and Dalley. I can just picture them, cups of coffee at hand, feet on the desk, saying, Sorry, there has been a bit of a delay in your house sale!

London based wine merchants called Planet of the Grapes.

I meant to say ‘in Fuengirola which is near the town where we live in Spain ...’

It did make it sound though as if people hadn’t an igloo where Fuengirola is!,
