It’s the boiler, I always forget to change the settings. Off to do it right now!

It confuses the cat for a few days, she asks for her meals at the wrong times.

pinkquartz Sat 26-Oct-19 22:43:01

am glad I like the clocks going back, it feels more correct than BST

glammagran Sat 26-Oct-19 22:42:55

Youngest DD has a 14 month old. She has been put to bed 10 minutes later each day this week in preparation for clocks going back. I wish I’d thought of that with my 3. ?

All countries in the EU must choose by 2021 to be on either standard time or summer time and stick to it (no more changing clocks). If we are still in, it will apply to us too....

tanith Sat 26-Oct-19 22:33:57

Most things I have change by themselves I just do the microwave, oven and car tomorrow.

M0nica Sat 26-Oct-19 22:31:31

It can wait until morning - changing the clockes, that is.

I look forward to lighter mornings; I hate waking up in the dark. Like Grandma70s, I wish this nonsense would stop as my body clock will be all b****red up for the next 7 to 10 days.

I've just done most of our clocks except the car and the two self-adjusting MSF ones.

NanKate Sat 26-Oct-19 22:18:40

I hate the dark nights with avengance and will be counting the days till the Spring.

I change most of the digital clocks in our house.

Grannybags I am just like your DH. I will be saying it’s really 5 o’clock when the clock says 4 o’clock.

Grammar whenever I manage to update the car time I write in my diary in 6 months time how I did it- simples ?

aggie Sat 26-Oct-19 22:01:29

Takes me ages getting used to the new time , I will be confused for a week !

Grammaretto Sat 26-Oct-19 21:44:37

I haven't managed to change the car clock this year so it will be correct tonight.
I don't like it becoming officially Winter.
Roll on Spring!!

Callistemon Sat 26-Oct-19 21:43:50

It will be the real time * Grannybags*!

An extra hour in bed, hopefully asleep - hooray.

Pittcity Sat 26-Oct-19 21:40:14

I've already done the manual clocks, most reset themselves.
The patriot in me says we should stick to GMT but the daylight lover in me prefers BST!

Grandma70s Sat 26-Oct-19 21:40:10

I don’t like putting the clocks back or forward. There's no good reason for it, and it messes up my sleep patterns even though it’s only an hour. I’m a very early waker anyway, and tomorrow if I wake at, say, 5 a.m., it will only be 4 a.m. The day will seem very long if I take any notice of the official time.

I prefer dark early mornings to light ones, though. If it’s light at 4 a.m there’s no hope of sleep. Unlike SirChenjin, I love it when the nights start to draw in, because I vastly prefer winter to summer.

I shall do my best to ignore the whole business. The problem is that television and radio observe the changes.

tidyskatemum Sat 26-Oct-19 21:26:41

We don't own a clock - which can be confusing when the laptop, ipad etc say a different time when you don't remember that it's clocks going back day! I hate it when they go back - although lighter mornings help as I usually go out for walkies first thing I hate it getting dark before 5pm and never want to go anywhere in winter evenings.

SueDonim Sat 26-Oct-19 21:23:03

I'll do it at bedtime tonight. I'll get an extra hour in my hotel room, hurrah!

Pantglas2 Sat 26-Oct-19 21:19:44

I do it tonight before bed apart from the car which will take time tomorrow morning. The EU have guaranteed no changes to this system until 2022 when the want everyone on one timeline.

Grannybags Sat 26-Oct-19 21:15:53

When we go to bed. All day tomorrow my husband will be saying "what's the real time?" - very annoying! ?

SirChenjin Sat 26-Oct-19 21:09:19

When we got to bed. I hate turning the clocks back - it’s officially the start of winter, a time I loathe and dread.

MiniMoon Sat 26-Oct-19 20:58:59

I do it before I go to bed. I've altered the clock and oven in the kitchen already.

Some countries have done away with daylight saving, I wonder how long we will keep it going.
It began in 1916, but many people, including farmers were opposed to it.

Bridgeit Sat 26-Oct-19 20:55:55

Definitely when going to bed. I would probably forget if I waited until the morning & then miss my favourite Sunday programmes.

watermeadow Sat 26-Oct-19 20:50:23

Hurrah! As an early riser I prefer light mornings to evenings.
Do you alter your clocks when you go to bed tonight or when you get up tomorrow?
