Fav Xmas Present from a loved one

Not a present as such but a letter sent to me by a lifelong friend, who sadly died suddenly three days after I received it. I will treasure it forever.

Favourite - a sewing machine.
Most memorable - a rod for beach fishing, just because I'd shown an interest in hiring a rod one afternoon when on holiday in Dorset.
To say I was underwhelmed is an understatement. Apart from anything else, we live about as far from the sea as it's possible to live in this country!

Favourite- a bottle of Chanel no19, when I was about 21 and we could ill afford it.

Most memorable- a set of Joseph Joseph chopping boards from John Lewis, which cost c£70... ( I can think of many things I could spend £70 on, and chopping boards ain’t on that list ...)
