Right, kitcheners, get busy. You know the routine. The tin of flapjacks to keep you going is in the corner with a kettle. The water's already on.

My SiL will be pursuing a divorce within days.
His Father was 92 and very old fashioned in his views and his ways.
He did not agree with divorce and I think his S was worried he would get cut out of the will, there is a lot involved.

soop you are a real trooper, carrying on in spite of your problems.
I hope you soon start to feel a lot better but it will take time.

I have my D and GC here for 2 nights, I am pleased to say the atmosphere is better than it was at Christmas, however late afternoon may see a different story.
They have just left for FiL and GP’s funeral.
My SiL and his partner have flown from their island paradise, and will be family mourners.
My D and GC will be sitting as far back in the church as they can.Their F’s B and SiL have not seen the children for 6 years and never ask after them.
GF only saw them when my D would ask if she could visit when she was visiting me.
The answer was often that it wasn’t convenient.

I really don’t know what to expect when they get back

I may be pleasantly surprised.

Rest as much as you can soop, let your body heal

Sorry you’ve been through the family wringer n&g. It’s wearing. Wasn’t life easier when these adult children were children? Onwards though, we do have a little sunshine so sending some your way. sunshine.

soop Fri 24-Jan-20 11:37:29

Just a wee pop in to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your kindness. Soon, I hope, I shall return feeling more like the person that is lying lie at the mo'. I really do feel that my updates are all very samey and will, given time, be boring beyond measure. BUT...you are all special and I shall endeavour to cease from bleating and try to get back in the saddle (so to speak).
Certainly no ironing. The very thought hmm
I shall be having my hair trimmed this afternoon. It is washed and ready for the razor. Us girls find such outings a bit of a treat.

MacS is wallowing in the attention some of his ladies are heaping upon him. Thank you.

N&G Whatever the family issue, I feel confident that your support will be of huge benefit. Bless you. flowers

In fact, bless you lot and thanks a million for your companionship.

NanaandGrampy Fri 24-Jan-20 09:22:55

Morning all!

Well my plea for a bright start fell on deaf ears ! The mood I’m in Grampy might find himself sacrificed to the weather gods!!

I have no idea what today’s plans are but with my recent luck I remember an old Staff Sergeant who always said ‘ Plans never survive first contact’ so I suspect it will be a day on a wing and a prayer.

Thank you NannyT , things have settled done here again, thank goodness. There is something to be said for a comfortable rut ?

Hope you’re feeling just a little better soop .

If anyone has any sunshine , send some my way please x

Alygran Fri 24-Jan-20 09:10:46

soop flowers
Hope you are feeling better today. Rest and stay warm.

Nannyfaraway Fri 24-Jan-20 08:47:03

Thank you for the update soop. Sorry to hear of your traumatic experience but glad you are home.
Don't feel guilty about resting. you need to rest until you're body feels more comfortable.
Hope you feel a bit better today.

Callistemon Thu 23-Jan-20 23:14:16

That sounds horrendous soop but I hope you're feeling more comfortable tomorrow. Your body is telling you to rest and you will get better more quickly if you obey what it's telling you!
You sound as if you are having plenty of tlc from MacS, so try to rest and get well soon.

grannyqueenie Thu 23-Jan-20 22:59:04

soop I’m just horrified to hear what a dreadful experience you have had, but heartened that you felt cared for in the midst of it all. Sending love to both you and your lovely man as you enjoy being back at home together where you are at your happiest. x

Nannytopsy Thu 23-Jan-20 22:48:04

Nana I hope you have some respite from your worries and Soop I do hope you are feeling so much better. ? for you both.
Fingers crossed for some sunshine soon! ☀️

NanaandGrampy Thu 23-Jan-20 22:35:55

Evening all !

Home after a couple of grey days and that wasn’t even the weather ! Family issue , if not resolved, managed thank goodness !

Would it be too much to ask for a bright sunny day tomorrow ? I don’t even mind if it’s cold . Just bright !

GN could do with some sunshine too - stuck my nose in a couple of threads and left sharpish ! Meanness pervades !

Hope you’re feeling a little better soop x

Bellanonna Thu 23-Jan-20 22:14:35

Goodness soop you've really been through it. I do hope that bit by bit you start to feel better and the pain lessens considerably. MacShas indeed been wonderful I hope you will take all the advice given and rest ! x

cornergran Thu 23-Jan-20 22:02:39

What an experience soop. I’m so sorry it was so traumatic and hope you and macs who is indeed a star are sound asleep now and having a well earned rest. Please do rest, you’re right, it takes longer to recover as we get more mature. Sleep well and please don’t worry about us.

annodomini Thu 23-Jan-20 20:59:49

Dear soop, I'm relieved to know that you are safely home and in your own bed. I'm so sorry that you suffered such pain and, as everyone has stressed - please be very gentle with yourself. It's been tough on MacS too, so ❤️ to him and I hope he is able to take things easy too. You are both very precious to us. xxxx

grannysyb Thu 23-Jan-20 20:30:45

So glad you're home, Soop, much the best place to be after all you've been through. Rest up and don't try to do too much.

Synonymous Thu 23-Jan-20 19:58:08

Dear soop so pleased that you are back home now. flowers
It is always such a relief when the medical folk can get to grips with your pain but what a mercy that they can and do although it is certainly no picnic whilst you wait for the stuff to kick in. hmm
Rest is now the best medicine and as has already been said - no ironing! x

Doodle Thu 23-Jan-20 19:24:24

Dear soop so sorry to hear what a distressing experience you had and yet throughout it all you still have the ability to praise the NHS and staff. I am so glad you and the wonderful MacSporran are home together. Please give MacS a peck on the cheek from me as I have often been the one who ‘only stands and waits’ and I know how hard it is to see someone you love suffer.
I hope you have a pain free night and start on the road to recovery. Much love to you both x

lavenderzen Thu 23-Jan-20 18:03:33

Dear Soop flowers please rest.

dragonfly46 Thu 23-Jan-20 17:49:28

Oh soop I can feel your pain. Please take your time to recover.
I hope tomorrow you will feel much more like your old self. There are times when we realise that we just have to give in to it and rest ?

Susan56 Thu 23-Jan-20 17:49:23

Oh Soop, what a traumatic experience you have been through.
Hopefully being at home in your own bed you will start to feel better.Sending you much love?
Also, what a star macsporran is, hope he’s taking it easy too.

NanaandGrampy Thu 23-Jan-20 17:38:17

Oh dear Soop that all sounds pretty awful to be honest but I’m glad you made it through ! Maybe it is time to listen to your body and really relax and get well . That means NO ironing for you !! ?

Hopefully , in a few days you’ll feel much, much better xx

Lins1066 Thu 23-Jan-20 16:50:16

I am so glad that you are home soop, and hope that you will feel more comfortable very soon. There's nothing quite like being back in your own bed.
There is so much concern being shown for you and I echo that.
Hope that McSporran is resting too, have a peaceful evening and a restful night both. ?

oldgoat Thu 23-Jan-20 16:42:24

Dear soop
So sorry to hear what a horrible time you've had and hope that that the surgery will help to correct your undercarriage problems.

Meanwhile, please take it easy and know that a whole army of Grans is wishing you a speedy recovery.
X

kittylester Thu 23-Jan-20 16:29:30

Thanks for the update soop. That all sounds terribly traumatic but hopefully it will help and, eventually, be less of a buggeration.

Tell macs, that he's a star. You, of course, are a super star!!

Now rest!!

GrannyGravy13 Thu 23-Jan-20 16:12:35

soop I do hope you are feeling more comfortable tomorrow, do not feel guilty for staying in bed, your body is telling you to rest flowers
