Two little penguins

Just that really...?made a cuppa and felt peckish so picked up a penguin, and then another!
It’s this time of night, and they’re very more-ish ( felt justified in having two as they are much smaller than they used to be)
I, on the other hand, am much larger than I used to be.

Oh, those packets freshly baked by M&S!

Callistemon Sat 14-Dec-19 13:17:53

newly baked mince pies
What are they?

tchconfused

lemongrove Fri 13-Dec-19 23:31:54

Oh dear, he didn’t eat all the newly baked mince pies again?

lemongrove Fri 13-Dec-19 23:30:51

I am obsessed with Thorntons brazil nut toffee but fear for my fillings made me give it up a year ago.sad
A penguin now and then is a substitute (Snickers are too hard to eat!)

Yes. Not poor H at all, verh grumpy.
But he's been a bit better today so DH again.

lemongrove Fri 13-Dec-19 23:28:05

Oh poor H Callistemon.......was he a very naughty boy??

I remember biting all the chocolate off Club biscuits. The biscuit inside wasn't as interesting.

Chewbacca Fri 13-Dec-19 19:41:06

Hmm, they might need to be investigated Greenfinch, nuts, chocolate and biscuit; what's not to like?

I'm quite fond of Aldi Disco bars. Chocolate with smarties on the top. Obviously I buy them for the GC but I had to do a quality test first, didn't I?

Greenfinch Fri 13-Dec-19 19:26:07

I have just come across the Choco Peanut bars in Lidl. So moreish and only 59 p for six . Bargain !

Yes, I just learnt Kia Ora on my recent visit, BradfordLass

Callistemon Thu 12-Dec-19 20:33:19

Oh dear, H has gone out so I had an orange. Very healthy.

(He's not DH at the moment).

That reminded me that someone gave me a bag of Lindor orange truffles yesterday so I had a couple.

They're very small so I had a few more
Oh dear - 616 calories shock
I need to go for an hour's run.

BradfordLass72 Thu 12-Dec-19 20:01:33

Doodle comfort yourself with reminiscing about Energen Rolls grin remember them?

I was trying to explain to someone just the other day exactly what they were like. They defy description really, 'inflated horse doo-doo' comes nearest.

And I've only just realised that I, and most GN UK have known at least 2 Maori words since the 50s and 60s.

Does anyone recall seeing cinema ads for an orange juice?
"Don't forget the Kia ora, Aurora!" ?

Kia ora has several meanings but this one indicates 'good health' - and was used by an Australian entreprenteur who marketed fruit drinks.

Oh Jane how could you! Here I am on a diet and you remind me of those delicious caramel wafers. I could eat a whole packet right now ?

kittylester Thu 12-Dec-19 18:56:03

Gonegirl Thu 12-Dec-19 17:01:25

TrendyNannie6 Thu 12-Dec-19 16:58:21

Haven’t had a penguin for years .

Jane10 Thu 12-Dec-19 16:55:57

Tunnocks caramel wafers for me or, drool, chunky Kitcats straight from the fridge. Twix are pretty good too now you mention it though...

Esther1 Thu 12-Dec-19 15:44:11

It goes without saying that these lovely traditional treats, for example, penguins, just aren’t as generous as they used to be which just makes us end up eating more than one, which is not a good thing. As my husband says - you no longer have to ‘grin to get a waggon wheel in!’ (Anyone remember the advert for Waggon Wheels!). I would rather pay a bit more and buy just one glorious treat like they used to be.

lemongrove Thu 12-Dec-19 15:18:03

Then get your coat on again Gonegirl....you can’t let another evening go by without eating one or two surely??

Am partial to a Twix Callistemon when needing a sugar fix,
And in the absence of Penguins, it does the job.

Gonegirl Thu 12-Dec-19 14:08:37

shock Sod! I forgot to buy some.

Callistemon Wed 11-Dec-19 23:48:18

It's just Not Fair!!
