Old Jamaican rum raisin chocolate bar

No one seems to remember my favourite chocolate bar from when I was a child - it was a triple layer of white, dark and milk chocolate. I can't remember who made it. I also loved the lime barrel in Dairy Box and Lucky Numbers sweets!

And yet again, fat not far.
I shall give up soon.

The mention of Ovaltine chocolate reminds me of the time of Ovaltine and Horlicks tablets which came in small time during the war when sweets and chocolate was rationed.
My friends loved them, I couldn't take to them at all, they made me nauseous.

ALDI do a very nice Rum, Raisin and Nut bar. 200 gms.

Cabana bars were my favourite, full of coconut and cherries, i think they stopped making them in the early 90s, new favourite in Twix white

Many years ago I used to buy Ovaltine chocolate from a machine on the wall. And I loved Tiffin. And coffee creams.

I too like the Rum and Raisin chocolate from Aldi, very nice.

I've just bought a pack of Fry's chocolate cream bars in Iceland. They are in the old fashioned wrapper with the five boys' faces on the wrapper. Very nostalgic.

This is great news! This was my favourite chocolate bar as a child but as it was v expensive in comparison to my pocket money income it was reserved for birthday and Christmas when I got money. Is is going to be available everywhere or just in certain shops?

I used to love Old Jamaica too, glad to hear it's being resurrected. Another one I miss is another of Cadburys...you got the equivalent of a box of chocolates but in a bar.

You can still buy Caramac chocolate bars Millie22, I bought one quite recently but either they've changed or my taste buds have because I found it very sickly and sweet.

I read recently that Cadburys is now made with palm oil, not cocoa. Yuk!

A finger of fudge used to be my favourite but I never touch Cadbury chocolate now. I have just been informed that it is now produced in Poland.

You can buy rum & raisin chocolate in Lidl.

Dairy Milk Selection Bar - my dad used to eat a square or two after our evening meal. He always saved my favourite, the lime barrel for me.

Loved Old Jamaica; and Fry’s Milk Sandwich with a layer of dark chocolate in between two layers of milk. Also Frys Mint cream bar.
