Pillows do you have on your bed? Not ornamental ones but ones you use to sleep, lounge etc. I use 8 at a time. 2 under knees and feet and 6 so I can sleep at an angle. I have a double bed to myself so I can spread out. Can anyone beat my impressive tally??

I have 6 on a King size bed with just me in it. 3 each side. Bottom ones for sleeping on with big sturdy ones on top to give support when reading with a squishy one on top both of which get chucked out at night. I move from one side to the other (called doing an Alice in Wonderland) every 5 days or so which means I only have to change the linen each 10 or 12 days confused

Currently lounging on 6 pillows made into a V-shape on a Kingsize bed. I often sleep sitting up or half reclining. If I do lower them, I sleep with a pillow at my back to keep me extra snug on cold nights. (The ex left so I replaced him with a pillow.grin

Two pillows each in king size bed, although I sometimes half sleep on the old man for warmth in Winter.
I often wake up miles down the bed with no pillow at all ( am a fidget.)

4 on the bed for dh and I and so it looks symmetrical when made up. Into bed mine go into the floor and I use a tiny foam one under my neck when I lie in my side to both read and sleep.

Actually it's a tiny pillow made to use between the knees for comfort but it's the perfect shape for the neck and a tiny bit of the jaw. Best £17 i ever invested. As far back as I can remember I was a tumm y sleeper without a pillow.

Which position? I used to love sleeping on my back all night, till I read that by doing so you are putting pressure on the main artery in the body, so I got used to change it through the night to flat on my stomach.

I use two for reading in bed but on medical advice have gone down to one for sleeping. I thought I'd find that difficult but still sleep comfortably.

We have 3 each! 1 for sleeping - a memory foam, DH reads on 3 then discards 2 but I read lying down. We both use 3 for tea drinking and news watching in the mornings.

I sleep on five pillows.

Well, DGC have been known to share a bed with DH and I, and even DD thinks that opening her stocking on Christmas morning entitles her to sit cross legged at the end of the bed. smile.

Nw DD is the one for pillows. She has four, all under her head.

Jura2, your Swiss pillow sounds grand. It made me remember that my parents had what they called a bolster, would that be the same thing? The replies also made me wonder what position do people sleep in. I had a friend who could only sleep flat on her stomach which got very interesting when she was pregnant. She spent most of the time indignant at the bump getting in the way. Oh happy days.

I'm intrigued by your bed sharing MOnica do tell smile

Nortsat46 Sat 18-Jan-20 19:46:17

We have 2 each.

Incidentally, I am absolutely green with envy at the thought of Jura’s nine foot wide bed ... (it shouldn’t be allowed). grin

Two to read and lounge. I sleep on one. Its just the right size to support shoulders as I took some of the filling out and restitched it.

Grammaretto Sat 18-Jan-20 16:52:58

I'm glad you asked. I have 2 but why is it necessary to dress a bed in a showroom with a mountain of pillows? Are they for show? please can someone tell me?

BlueSapphire Sat 18-Jan-20 16:49:04

Kingsize bed, 4 pillows on it but I only use two for reading and sleeping.
I occasionally use a third on my feet depending on whether the cats decide to play bite my toes or not!

CanadianGran Fri 17-Jan-20 22:47:53

I think you beet us all Artdecogran. We typically have 3 each, one of which is a small 9x20", perfect for propping up my book! For sleeping all but one gets pushed to the floor.

My DH uses all for sleeping, he has a bad back and props them under his legs.

BlueSky Fri 17-Jan-20 22:39:35

Should be 'feels like down' of course!

BlueSky Fri 17-Jan-20 22:35:17

Three soft pillows for my head and shoulders. I tried hard to use only one or two as it supposed to be best, but to no avail, I just like being higher regardless. So I went back to one large V shaped, one 'feels like dawn' and a flat 'stomach sleeper' on top. Bliss!

jura2 Fri 17-Jan-20 22:21:42

I have a huge Swiss style one, 1 metre by 60cm - feather and underfilled so I can mould it to the shape I want.

This old house has huge rooms- so we have 2 double beds put together - bliss- a 9ft bed smile

M0nica Fri 17-Jan-20 22:16:58

One, regardless of the size of the bed or how many other people are or are not haring it with me. Bed sharers will have their pillows as well.

Alishka Fri 17-Jan-20 22:11:18

I sleep on my back, don't move all night but have to have a pillow on my tum since my cat died. A habit I can't (or don't want to) break. sad
Oh! and two pillows for sleeping.

Hetty58 Fri 17-Jan-20 21:54:10

Just two for me, a sprung pillow (very good for bad back and neck) and a thin ordinary one on top - to get the exact right height.

mcem Fri 17-Jan-20 21:53:24

Double bed for myself.
2 feather ones for sleeping. 2 others to fill the space and hold book n specs.

Charleygirl5 Fri 17-Jan-20 21:52:25

A double bed for me and my cat but she moves quickly because I continue breathing. I personally use 2 pillows, one is memory foam- I love it.

sodapop Fri 17-Jan-20 21:49:30

4 pillows on a double bed, two to sleep on, one to rest my book and a spare.
