Izabella your declining brain function may be frustrating you but your sense of humour is as sharp as ever! Photo books are a joy to look at but can be an absolute bugger trial to create. I need one of those buckets, I’m guessing we could all do with one! Oh I’ve just noticed there’s one in the corner of the kitchen!

GrannyGravy what a big shock and awful sadness for that young family to have thrust upon them. Thinking of them all and you too as you try to support your daughter, she’ll want to be a good friend I’m sure.

soop you’re spot on about family gatherings, they’re precious times indeed. Talking of family how I wish I had asked more questions while my parents were alive. Yesterday, fed up with rain and unable to face the thought of a muddy walk, we visited a local cloth mill. It’s now a spacious and beautiful gallery with some very seductive books on sale. My mum worked in an an Ayrshire lace works as a very young woman. I always think of her when we go to this former mill and wonder what it was like for her in the “old days”.

I know I’ve not mentioned anything like every one, must try harder as my school reports always said! But be assured, old or new kitcheners, I’m thinking of you all. x

chicken that minx is going to ruin glass doors with his scratching. Tara is not too fussed with the patio doors here, it is the door to the cat flap and the other to the kitchen which get the worst treatment from her. She used to understand the word no but not any longer.

Baker Is a tyke. We are all rooting for him.

Feeling sort of relieved to discover that Letrozole (which I must take for 10 years, providing I live that long) increases one's appetite dramatically. I thought it was just me. No! There is a forum that confirms the fact. My appetite is way beyond normal. I have gained weight. By how much I dare not know. The year in which I've been taken the meds is almost up. Annual check up with the cancer consultant not too far ahead. We shall see what she thinks.

It's still chilly. I need to look out a pair of thick socks. May even wear bed socks tonight.

I am, as always, thinking of you all. Especially those of you who are feeling sad or unwell.

Well as well as a pool brimming over with frogspawn and a mirabelle plum in full flower, I now have my mimosa coming into bloom.

Charleygirl I'll swap your Tara for my Baker right now I hope you'll enjoy non-stop wailing to get out plus frantic scratching at the patio doors. We have to take him back to the vets in a few days for a check up but as he's still sneezing I fear they will say that he has to stay in.

kitty I know that if MacSporran had a skateboard I would have to tie him to the gatepost. He's still recovering from walking passed a door frame and stripping the skin from his arm. It bled for that long, I still believe that it needed stiches to help it knit together. The GP gave him umpteen dressings. Today, we decided that, with care, he should leave the now healing slice of skin to breathe.

anno You have had a special family time. I know what you mean about wishing you lived closer. I feel exactly as you do. However, it was our decision to live here in Scotland. We love it. It's important therefore to make the very best of every opportunity for family gatherings. We've one arranged for May.

GrannyGravy No wonder you are in a state of shock. How tragic to die in a car accident at such a young age, and even more tragic for the family who must now carry on without him. How must they be feeling? Wretched and heartbroken. My heart goes out to them and you and your family.

CH and I have been attempting to do a memory book for me of our recent journey through the antipodes using a software package I have used many many times. Alas, another thing for the fucketbucket I now have absolutely no idea how it works

Hello kitcheners , so much going on I have absolutely no chance of catching up

I am feeling very sad, we found out that a friend was killed in a car accident Friday, he leaves a wife and 3 young children under 12. We are shocked to the core, such a waste of a life and his wife and children are absolutely devastated. Our DD was very close to the family and is so upset.

It just makes me want to gather all our AC and GC here to hug.

I've been away for a week, so now trying (and failing) to catch up with all your news. I've been staying with my sister and BiL who have thoroughly spoilt me. I have lost count of the great meals we've had 'out'. We went to a live relay of 'Cyrano de Bergerac' which was wonderful. No scenery, no props, but it mattered not one jot. The acting was top notch - James MacAvoy in particular - really brilliant.
ann, I don't know what was said in the thread you mention. Perhaps I'm better not knowing! A curse upon them! Can one get banned for cursing malignant posters?

grey, I hope your recuperation is going well - just ca' canny as they say in my homeland. As I've just been there, I'm still using the vernacular.
I was relieved to reach home yesterday and find no obvious storm damage. Usually there's at least one fence panel down. The burn at the end of the garden is full and fast, but doesn't appear to have burst its banks - yet.
We had a lovely meet-up with my nephews and families - including the 7-month-old twins. They're not identical (one of each) and have very different personalities. But they 'talk' to each other all the time, and to everyone else. Such very sociable and cheerful babies. I wish I lived closer to them!

Would anybody like to re-home a 15-16 year old cat? She interrupted my TV viewing last night by running up and down stairs like a maniac. This is to inform me of what she had deposited in the litter tray upstairs.

From 4 am she was pawing at my face trying to get me to move out of bed to let her out. It did not work but as she did it frequently after that I did not have much of a night's sleep. She is on prescription food- I will happily supply it.

I feel like a zombie thanks to madam.
