annesixty it is allowed. Indeed to be encouraged. Try not to despair the feeling will pass. Pain is a great depressor of the soul. The fact that others may be worse is not relevant to you this morning. You are hurting and need to heal. I hope the pain reduced later in the day, in the meantime there are many in the kitchen who will sympathise.

I myself have had a couple of blurry days with 'Al' but the fog lifted this morning with a letter offering us an apartment in an extra care facility. I am all of a dither. Viewing Tuesday.

Apologies if I have missed photo's, tales of angst and general news.

soop Sat 22-Feb-20 11:29:33

ann You feel rotten. Sometimes it's nigh on impossible to just "snap out of it" and chronic pain is a right buggeration to have to contend with. You are fine here with us lot. Settle down on the chaise. Watch the waves hammering the rocks into submission and know that you matter. flowers

Feeling very sad this morning.
So much bad news and serious illness on GN and I have had to ask for a thread to be deleted.
GN was full of kind ,helpful and caring people, thankfully it mostly still is, but "an element " has crept in and just to think that people will joke about finding out or knowing who you are and will use that knowledge is upsetting.
My pain level is increasing everyday and at nearly 11am I am still in my dressing gown waiting for my pain relief to kick in and I know there are many worse than me .
You can see I am feeling sorry for myself, must try to get over it?
TOYA who feel like me.

Morning all !!

Its a wintery, windy day out there today! Yet the postman still had a smile and had his shorts on ! I don't know how he does it !!

I am obviously in the dog house this morning as usually when I get up Sam jumps up to sit next to me but this morning he has not stirred from his basket . I am almost positive if I picked up his treat jar he'd be here in a flash .

T'is true I did invite myself Dragonfly , my gran would turn in her grave - she had a big thing about waiting to be invited :-)

Its a crafting day here . One of the bonuses of being retired is that we rarely go anywhere on a weekend but prefer to go in the week when people are at work.

I shall be back later with some pictures of my hard work lol

Happy day all !

callgirl1 Fri 21-Feb-20 23:20:24

But don`t humans still taste the dogfood before it leaves the factory? So it can`t be that bad, lol.
CharleyG, Mia has got too grand now for the stairlift seat, she`s graduated to my bed, the pillow beside mine, to be exact.
Apparently, the shaming picture has been seen and shared several times, hopefully it will find it`s way to the police.

chicken Baker will be disappointed because the remaining two bedrooms are upstairs and the door from the living room to the hall and front door where the cat flap is has been closed and I only open the patio doors in the kitchen when the weather is warmer.

He could go in the back garden which is enclosed and surrounded by 6-foot fences provided he cannot jump. I think he would settle down nicely enjoying the cuddles and attention.

Tara has been asleep all evening but the minute I go upstairs to change her litter tray she is in the bedroom cross-legged.

I have told her I do not have to go out until late morning so I would appreciate a lie in and wake up gently, not have 4kg of black and white fur land on my face and head.

dragonfly am I reading correctly and you are using dog food to eke out the meal to be enjoyed by N&G? I am so pleased I decided not to join them.

dragonfly46 Fri 21-Feb-20 20:56:30

Yep Nannytopsy the dog food was on offer!
Maybe the profiteroles are the better option!

Nannytopsy Fri 21-Feb-20 20:04:20

Dragonfly did you really buy dog food for your Thai curry? I don’t think the other kitcheners realised that!
Charlie is off to respite care tomorrow morning as the Grandog is coming and no one can relax when they are both in the house. He can watch chickens for a couple of days!
I wish I had tickets for the rugby! We are watching Tigers v Sale at the moment -well I am. DH is asleep in his new armchair!

chicken Fri 21-Feb-20 19:41:38

Charleygirl Baker says thankyou very much for the invitation to stay with you and he's packing his food bowl in preparation. He says can he please have a room with access to outside because his horrible humans are keeping him shut in, and if he knew how to use the phone he would be notifying the cat police to complain. As it is , he's been shouting for help until his throat hurts, but no-one seems to be listening!

Honestly, it's terrible what the Gransnet pets, feline and canine, have to put up with. It makes my heart bleed.

Sorry I missed out on the curry and profiteroles dragonfly. Never mind, I must remember " A moment on the lips, forever on the hips".

Charleygirl5 Fri 21-Feb-20 18:20:27

callgirl my apologies, how can I forget Mia who does not have a cat bed and has to lie on the stairlift chair!

Lins I personally can think of nothing worse to watch- I prefer athletics, swimming or tennis and I would even watch football because I understand it. Rugby is beyond me, like cricket.

Sam really is gorgeous- he is usually running around- rarely do we see him resting his eyes.

dragonfly46 Fri 21-Feb-20 18:18:55

But * Charley* I didn’t invite them - soop and N&G invited themselves! ?

Lins1066 Fri 21-Feb-20 17:19:38

Sam is is so cute NanaandGrampy, it sounds like you all had a lovely walk.
It is chilly here with a cold wind. We decided to wrap up and go for a short walk after lunch. The sea was very rough, the waves crashing against the rocks.
We met one of our neighbours who told us that our next door but one neighbour had a bad accident this morning. She fell down the stairs, I didn't see the ambulance outside as we were in our kitchen most of the morning. Our neighbour is 87 and is her husband's carer.

Thank you all for your good wishes re the injections. I have to do mine in the evening too dragonfly, I shall think of you and your DH ?
Some nice news, DS has won 2 tickets in a work raffle to see the Wales v France rugby international tomorrow. He is rather pleased.

Charleygirl5 Fri 21-Feb-20 16:51:27

I have been saying for many months that Sam really should come and live here- Hettie is another I worry about- also not well cared for.

It would appear that Baker and Charlie will also be coming- there is a possibility I may have to move because each animal should have a bedroom- it is their right, but they can all visit me in mine whenever they like. Cuddles are few and far between in their respective homes so that will be rectified here.

dragonfly if I invited folk around for a meal and I thought I had insufficient, I would do without! I was also coming but as I have been out for coffee and then lunch with two other GNs I will only need a bowl of cereal tonight so please give my share to others.
TOYA

soop Fri 21-Feb-20 16:50:29

N&G I shared Sam's pathetic photo with the folk I told you about. They wish to know...could he have a roomier bed? It appears that he is cramped. Also, is the room temperature ideal for his needs? It's in the balance. He may need to move in with me.

The care home visit went well. The flu outbreak has been and gone.

The sea is choppy. It is chilly and damp. Nothing to complain about after seeing the abysmal conditions that thousands of families are still dealing with. I would be heartbroken. It's at such times that communities come together and do extraordinary things for each other.

Away to empty the washing machine. I shall look forward to slipping into my cosy PJ's and doing a loll for the rest of the evening.

TOYA smile moon

NanaandGrampy Fri 21-Feb-20 14:58:06

Oh if I must she says with bulging cheeks - no manners at all lol xx

soop Fri 21-Feb-20 14:56:35

Sigh...Oh okay, dragonfly I suppose the profiteroles will have to do. I shall make a brew. Us lot will sample a few.

dragonfly46 Fri 21-Feb-20 14:47:19

Sorry soop and N&G not enough curry but I have left some profiteroles on the side as I may have made too many!

soop Fri 21-Feb-20 14:43:43

See you at dragonfly's N&G

NanaandGrampy Fri 21-Feb-20 14:39:52

Afternoon!

We are returned from our 3.6 mile walk. Of course Sam has done more than twice that as he scurried back and forth checking on his pack (us) and scouting for interesting smells in the undergrowth !

When I say walk , I mean I scootered of course ?

It was chilly in exposed parts of the forest but bearable and we had taken hot coffee for when we got back to the car .

Sam and Grampy are both quietly snoring now on the sofa ! You are right Soop , Sam leads a shocking life ?

Oooh a Thai curry sounds goodDragonfly ! As Soop is bringing wine, I’ll bring dessert - what time would you like us?

soop Fri 21-Feb-20 14:27:31

N&G I shall be forwarding that photo os Sam to the Dogs Welfare League. It's shocking in the extreme. wink

dragonfly At what time will we be joining you for Thai curry. I shall bring a decent bottle of plonk. grin

soop Fri 21-Feb-20 14:23:08

farview The Panaches were regulars in the kitchen. They are missed. I am so thankful that they the made the brave decision to move into a more supportive accommodation. Now they have all the help that they need and deserve.

Welcome Dollymac In which city do you live? Here in Kintyre, on the west coast of Scotland, we have had lots of rain, high winds but thankfully, thus far, no floods.

dragonfly I can almost see the smile on your face.

N&G To be honest, I was beginning to fret about your long absence. Now I understand. Naturally you've been doing what you and your family do with aplomb - having fun.

callgirl1 What a bloody cheek. I'd have rapped hard on the window as he was in mid-flow. Serves him right if he's recognised on FB. He should be made to feel ashamed.
We said hello to David this morning.

Nannytopsy Awwww! A sleepover with Nanny is a mighty big treat.

kitty thank you for your appreciative comments. Please keep us updated.

Charleyg I think that us lot should save up and buy a wee camera that you can attach to Tara's cat collar. We could all discover what she gets up to in whatever weather and still return home dry and unruffled. It's a mystery.

Lins1066 I approve. After all your discomforture, you and your husband deserve a quiet, cosy, stress-free day. We will do likewise.

dragonfly46 Fri 21-Feb-20 12:01:05

kitty grin

kittylester Fri 21-Feb-20 10:55:04

I had heard about that sort of activity on your side of town, dragonfly! grin

dragonfly46 Fri 21-Feb-20 10:33:47

I am coming back as a dog in my next life N&G!

Yes it was indeed our friends on TV last night kitty. It is so tragic as the houseboat was so exquisite inside. I wondered about insurance but would that be insurable? They are hoping to raise money by crowd funding.

Better get off to Sainsbury now to buy dog food and ingredients for the Thai curry I am making tonight for DD and SiL.

I hope the injections help Lins. I have to inject for 5 days after chemo and my DH has to inject every day so we are a good pair after dinner each evening.

NanaandGrampy Fri 21-Feb-20 10:01:16

Morning all!

I am feeling much more energised this morning so it’s breakfast then off to the forest for Sam to have a good run and us to get some fresh air!

It was reasonable weather until late afternoon Lins when the. Loads rolled in and the temperature dropped. I think you’re very brave giving your own injections , as a type 2 diabetic I thank my lucky stars I can use medication to control it because I’m not sure I’d be as brave as you .

Hello Dollymac ?, welcome to the kitchen ! Hope you’re not flooded , it looks awful .

NannyT , I love the way your littlies think lol ! Outdoor boy messaged me before we picked him up because he was ‘wondering’ would there be a snack bag in the car for him for the journey home! He likes to be near food at all times in case of a food shortage ??

Charley I warned Grampy , if he fell off that scooter he was on his own ! But boys will be boys ! They had a high old time !

I’ll leave you with a picture of how hard Sams life is ??
