Glad to hear that Brodie is settled soop you must be both pleased and relieved.
So glad that Baker is better Chicken.
Nannytopsy Charlie sounds like a real character and is clearly much loved. I think you were very wise to live in your new home before buying furniture. You need to get a feel for the place and its proportions don't you.

I'm sorry to hear about your neighbour Kitty, a devastating form of cancer. Our close neighbour died from lung cancer about three years ago.

Just an update from me - I had a visit from two lovely nurses on Wednesday re the osteoporosis. They went through everything and showed me how to administer the daily injections. Then it was my turn, they stayed for half an hour to make sure that I was alright. They were here about an hour and a half in total, nothing but praise for them. It will be three months or so before any effect is noticeable.
Then yesterday a visit to the hospital to see the spinal consultant. I had X-rays which he said were fine, yet I am still in quite a bit of discomfort.
DH is better, his leg is easier and he drove yesterday with no problem. We are going to have a quiet day today.

Lovely photos NanaandGrampy, the weather looked reasonable for you to get out and about.

Morning kitcheners. So sorry to hear about your dear friend and neighbour kitty on top of the sadness of the young man with MND which I have heard is a disease that is beyond awful as it’s so cruel. No wonder you are feeling emotional this morning.

Here, put these ? in a vase from me. x

kittylester Fri 21-Feb-20 07:16:27

Morning. I've just s rolled back to see if I had missed your house being flooded, topsy and couldnt find it. I'm so glad you haven't! New furniture- tipper! Though it is scary too isnt it?

Welcome dollymac, the kitchen is a lovely, supportive, gentle place to be.

Our cats always make for our bed when I've just changed it - it's cream. confused

Thank you all for your kind wishes. I was in absolute shock especially as I was tasked with telling the other members of our little group.

dragonfly, I think I saw your friends on the local news yesterday. What an appalling thing to happen! And they said they weren't insured. sad

Our young friend who has MND was on local news too yesterday. He was a very fit young man whose hobby was doing triathlons. His friends have pledged to help him do one last triathlon in a specially adapted wheelchair. He has started a charity to raise funds for research into MND and the hospice where he receives ongoing physio. As you can imagine, I feel an emotional wreck currently.

Anyway, kitty think pleasant thoughts!!!

I'm sorry for it being so droopy and send love to all of you.

Thank you for the kitchen, soop!

TOYA

No, Dollymac don’t worry! We have not been flooded but we have been decorating. How kind of you to be concerned for us. I do feel for so many who are flooded. We moved here 6 months ago and only brought the three piece with us as a stop gap. We felt we needed to live here a while before we decided what would fit. tomorrow is the day!

Dollymac Thu 20-Feb-20 22:13:51

I'm fairly new here, but our city is no stranger to flooding
I'm so sorry Nanatopsy
You have my very best wishes with the clear up ?

Nannytopsy Thu 20-Feb-20 22:07:43

Our lounge furniture is on the drive, awaiting the council tomorrow, along with the carpet. We are sitting in the kitchen reading. We had DS and family to tea ( so that they could shift the furniture ?) and the littlies brought their bags in case they could have a sleepover! Of course they could! ?

Nannytopsy Thu 20-Feb-20 22:04:45

What awful news Kitty. Here is a big hug for you. {{}}

Charleygirl5 Thu 20-Feb-20 21:37:17

kitty that was a total buggeration and you ae reeling from that blow.

N&G I notice that the children of all ages are on the scooters! Please tell Mr. N&G from me he could # a bone with his antics!

chicken one of my neighbours is allergic to cats so Tara makes a beeline for him when he visits and she sits outside their door.

I came home after 3 pm absolutely soaked so I had to change into my night attire. Tara came home a couple of hours later, it was still raining, she was as dry as a bone and warm to touch- where had that little beggar been hiding?

She came on to the new duvet cover last night for cuddles so at present she asleep on it. She will smell me and herself so it is obviously okay. She will have to move because I cannot get into bed, she is lying at such an awkward angle and it is a double bed. She likes her comforts.

Isn`t it strange how cats always attach themselves to cat haters?

chicken Thu 20-Feb-20 20:43:40

So sorry to hear about you neighbour's cancer*Kitty*. It's such a cruel disease and so random.

soop--Baker was a bit better behaved today but only because I had friends here and they are NOT cat lovers so in typical cat fashion he was delighted to spend the morning twining himself round their legs

NanaandGrampy Thu 20-Feb-20 20:08:17

Evening all !

Sorry for being absent , we have had the pleasure of outdoor boys company complete with 400 miles of driving oth of which left us pretty shattered.

Sorry to hear of your neighbours illness Kitty.

I am of course so far behind I don't have a clue what's going on in the kitchen so apologies.

Ill leave you with a couple of pictures and be back tomorrow to catch up !!

callgirl1 Thu 20-Feb-20 17:27:42

Sad news about your neighbour Kitty. Sadly, cancer is no respecter of persons.
Soop, enjoy your visit to the care home tomorrow.
I was about to switch off the CCTV this morning after Lynne`s carer left, when a youngish looking man came round the corner into the passage at the side of our house, undid his flies and had a wee, right facing us! He obviously didn`t see the cameras or the notice, unless he just didn`t care. My DIL has put a picture on her facebook page. Unfortunately, this happens fairly often, one time it was a woman.

mumofmadboys Thu 20-Feb-20 17:20:54

Sorry to hear your friend is so ill, Kitty. But good to hear he has been active for so long. Good neighbours are so precious.

dragonfly46 Thu 20-Feb-20 17:13:06

My DD has just told me that she and DH are coming tomorrow. I had sort of expected them on Saturday but this is an added bonus. I am now frantically making a list for Sainsbury's tomorrow!!
We are having granddog for 4 weeks while they go back to see her DH's family in Australia.

dragonfly46 Thu 20-Feb-20 17:11:11

kitty so sorry to hear this. Cancer has no respect for anybody.

farview Thu 20-Feb-20 17:02:27

Thank you soop..shes a lovely lady and I think about her often...I dont PM her though because she tires easily..and I don't want to bother her...her and Mr P have had such a shoddy deal re health..I'm glad that they're being well cared for x

Bellanonna Thu 20-Feb-20 17:02:12

Awful news Kitty especially when so unexpected. It sounds as though your neighbour was fit until very recently. So sorry.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 20-Feb-20 17:01:11

Such sad news kittylester bloody cancer sad

soop Thu 20-Feb-20 17:00:20

The care home flu alert has been lifted. We shall visit our pal tomorrow. When I return home I shall pop in to the kitchen as per usual.

TOYA smile moon

soop Thu 20-Feb-20 16:57:55

kitty My heart goes out to you. That is such sad news. Cancer is no respecter of persons. No matter how fit, it can strip away their wellness. I am so sorry for you and your close friends. flowers

kittylester Thu 20-Feb-20 16:52:56

Please can I have some TLC.

We have just heard that our next door neighbour is in hospital on oxygen and receiving palliative care, having been diagnosed with lung cancer and secondaries in his bones and kidneys.

Until the bad weather started he was walking 5 miles most days, kept a huge allotment which supplied us (and lots of other people) with lovely veg. Since Christmas he has lost 1.5 stones. His wife died 13 years ago of breast cancer and he has recently been seeing a woman from the next village. She is being wonderful. They were both here with other neighbours 6 weeks ago for supper.

To say we are all shell shocked is a understatement.

soop Thu 20-Feb-20 12:19:39

GrannyGravy Brodie has a lot of wild cat genes coursing through him. His ears are small and flat to his head. We are so relieved that he is still alive. Having been neutered, he should not be too eager to roam too far afield.
As for the greeting card site that you've toiled with...hmm When was anything of the kind simple!!!

corner What was it that caught your eye? Was it something you needed? Or, was it something you wanted because it seemed too good not to buy? grin

chicken Is Baker behaving? wink

Urmstongran I like the sound of your day. How lovely that the 93 year old brother is still able to care for himself. I've also put sticky labels under some of my "treasures" and hope, that when I die, they will have some ongoing sentimental value.

soop Thu 20-Feb-20 12:08:28

Welcome back to the kitchen, farview. Panache is not too well at the moment. She and her husband are going through a very rough time. They are being well cared for since they moved into their new home. We received an update a week or so ago. smile

soop Thu 20-Feb-20 12:05:08

Nannytopsy You are doing your best. Charlie is loved. That counts for a lot.

Nannytopsy Wed 19-Feb-20 22:17:55

Thank you for your concerns about Charlie. Yes, we think he has some signs of dementia. He is 15 so not too old. Most of our cats have reached 18. He is very vocal these days and lacks patience but it doesn’t affect his appetite!
