Dear soop, bruises certainly demand respect. Are they beginning to "rainbow" yet?

N&G, can I bring a pair of Light Sussex chickens onto the ark please? I'll supply a bag of feed for them too.

Now that the rain has stopped here for a while, Baker has been in and out the patio door about a dozen times ---out, in for a little snack, out----it's true what they say, dogs have owners, cats have staff. To everyone who willed him to recover, I send a heartfelt thankyou---I'm sure it helped.

Apricot jam pasties on the kitchen worktop, help yourselves ---beware the crumbs.

soop Sat 29-Feb-20 16:37:51

I won't be "boinging" anywhere soon. The thigh bruise demands respect. I may be tempted to wander into the kitchen to nose around for the chocs that I asked to be hidden. wink

The wind is keen. The islands are shrouded in mist. However - the darling buds are beginning to shoot. The birds remain joyful. I am away to read the paper and enjoy a nice cup of tea. Simple pleasures.

Thinking of you all. Back tomorrow. smile moon

Greyduster More additions to greenhouse gasses! hmm

Greyduster Sat 29-Feb-20 14:21:11

Oh God! That’s all we need! A flatulent elephant. Better put air freshener on the shopping list!

Greyduster Sat 29-Feb-20 14:17:52

Hi folks! An hour ago I was doing a little (very) light pruning in a sunny garden. Then we had snow coming down horizontally. Now the sun is out again. And no, I’m not going back out into the garden. My frustration at the amount of stuff I cannot get my teeth into knows no bounds. Patience of a saint, me - not! I did, however, make both cheese and fruit scones yesterday so I will leave some on the side. The cheese are the ones that look like biscuits, and the fruit ones are a marginally better shape! I’ll get scones right one day. Only been at it for fifty three and a half years. Early days.......?

more than the kitchen is your place. Where better to share your sadness.?

Callgirl congratulations on your new great granddaughter, Grace. I’m sure she will live up to her name!

N&G since when have we been anything but orderly? I’ll have a seat in your ark but please don’t sit me near the camels! And I’m not doing any sweeping uphmm! I have just been watching a news item of some of the flooding in our county. The houses are half a mile from the river that overflowed it’s banks and the water that is engulfing them has absolutely nowhere to go. Devastating.

Soop I hope you are feeling better post-tumble. I’m sure MacS will have put the chocolates back within reach by now! If not we shall be giving him the hard stare!

Gmarie welcome!

I will look in later. Oh, here comes the snow again!

soop Sat 29-Feb-20 13:52:39

Thank you, N&G. I've a feeling that this ark will rock!

ann Great news, I had a niggling feeling that you were going to enjoy youreslf. It all sounds hunky dory. smile

annsixty Sat 29-Feb-20 13:48:51

Well I don’t want to make you jealous but we have sun and blue sky, although the wind is a bit chilly.
Lovely day yesterday, but the Irish, grooms family, are a bit noisy when celebrating, they had a good time though!!
Lovely breakfast this morning and a really nice hotel, I had a super king size bed to myself , it was a lovely comfy mattress and I slept really well.
Arrived home to two appointments ,one for pre-op, one for physiotherapist.
I really feel it is going to happen now.
Morethan our hearts go out to you {flowers}

NanaandGrampy Sat 29-Feb-20 13:41:41

The ark is well underway and I am considering some panic buying to make sure we are well stocked , obviously there will be bubbly and cake , please feel free to add to the shopping list !!

Your seat is reserved Soop , cats to the left , dogs to the right please and we won’t be adding wasps, cockroaches or spiders to the inventory - watch out for the elephant ( I think he has wind !)

annodomini Sat 29-Feb-20 12:34:08

Lovely news, callgirl. I was hoping for a Grace in my family, but that last GC turned out to be Max. Dare I hope for a GGD?
There's sunshine here at the moment, though clouds are never far away. The thermometer at the back door says 15C, but that is quite a suntrap. This morning there were massive puddles in the garden, but not qualifying as a flood this time.

Welcome gmarie. Make yourself comfortable. If I can find the chocs, you may be lucky to have one all to yourself. flowersRight now, we have bright sunshine on the Kintyre Peninsula. However, there is a chilly breeze to accompany it.

callgirl Welcome to the world Grace Marie. I agree that her name is beautiful, as indeed she will be.

NG* I've always wanted to be piped aboard an ark. I bags seat next to the window.

morethan2 You do know that if talking about whatever troubles you helps, we are always here to listen. The sad fact is that we cannot make your daughter-in-law better. flowers

dragonfly We'll raise a glass of bubbly when your chemo finally comes to an end.

soop Sat 29-Feb-20 11:32:47

a cat boinging joyfully around a rainy garden...thanks for that, Baggs And CHEERS fo Baker, the wonder cat.

Charleygirl5 Sat 29-Feb-20 10:04:13

chicken I had visions of Baker doing somersaults he was so pleased to be outside again. He is a very fortunate young man having being cared for so well and many people willing him to get better.

Dragonfly it will soon be all over and hopefully you can relax.

ann I do hope you enjoyed the day- your GD would be happy.

callgirl I agree with others, a lovely name.

Another dreary wet day- I will stay indoors methinks. The lodger has long gone but she would have preferred the door person to be up around 5 am- that was not going to happen.

morethan a hug and flowers. You’re right about the rain, it makes everything harder.

morethan2 Sat 29-Feb-20 08:56:09

Congratulations callgirl that’s lovely news on such a grey day.
I’ve tried to post a few times but my DiL is suffering so much I can’t bring myself to share the awful sadness of it all.
Rain, rain go away it’s making me feel worse.

kittylester Sat 29-Feb-20 08:48:06

Congratulations callgirl. What a pretty name! Persie's middle name is Grace!

gmarie Sat 29-Feb-20 08:39:45

callgirl, Congratulations. flowers I had a great grandmother Grace and always loved the way the name sounded.

chicken, I wish we would get some of that lovely rain here in California. We've had a dry February but at least we had some rain earlier in the season. Hope it keeps up so we can partially avoid another wretched fire season!

Hope you all have a great Saturday!

chicken Sat 29-Feb-20 08:28:46

callgirl---congratulations on the birth of your new GGC. What a lovely name too. We also have a Grace in the family.

I'm looking out on yet another miserable wet and windy day; will it ever end? I have kept a count of rainfall (September to September ) for many years and here in Sussex we usually get around 27 ins. per year, This year we have had 33ins since September---six months still to go. And we are one of the drier counties!

GrannyGravy13 Sat 29-Feb-20 08:15:39

dragonfly46 Sat 29-Feb-20 07:34:53

Congratulations to you all callgirl. Looks like sleep was hard to come by dragonfly, hope you’re OK.

dragonfly46 Sat 29-Feb-20 02:33:48

Callgirl how wonderful - a new baby in the family.

I laughed at the vision of * Baker* finally being let out! What a miracle.

GrannySomerset Sat 29-Feb-20 00:01:56

So pleased to hear that Baker is defying all predictions and is a tribute to the home nursing he has received. Lovely mental picture of his delight in going outside for so long. Pleased too to hear of new grandbabies. We so need some good news after a miserable February.

callgirl1 Fri 28-Feb-20 22:51:45

Wonderful news Dragonfly.
Ann, I hope you enjoyed the day, your granddaughter will have been so pleased that you were there.
Soop, eat your chocs, they`re your reward for being a brave soldier.
My 3rd great grandchild was born today. Grace Marie made her entrance at 3.48 pm, the image of her brother Max, according to their dad. 7lbs.7oz.
