Well done lins! You win the bottle of virtual champagne ?
GG13 your grandsons are not the only ones! We put new paint, carpet and curtains in the room GS used here - then he asked the management for an upgrade to a larger room with a double bed, and a bedside table instead of a blue plastic chair with two teddies sitting in it! All that was missing was room service. ?Oh, silly me, he has that too....!
chicken, I now have a wonderful mental picture (movie, even) of a cat boinging joyfully around in the rainy garden! ??
Good news, dragonfly ?
Love it GG13! The best laid plans and all that ...
?
Excellent news about Baker, chicken. It must have been all those vibes we sent in his direction! ?
Thank you dragonfly ?
I loved ‘Instructionsfor a Heatwave’ Lins. So pleased you felt well enough to go to book club.
Was the programme Hill St Blues Nannytopsy?
Lovely photo btw.
Excellent news dragonfly ?
Hope your shoulder is better Baggs, glad the insurance girl cheered you up.
Enjoy the chocolates soop they were given to you, so... a little of what you fancy does you good. I like Anne Cleeves books, I've not read that one.
Went to Book Club this morning, haven't been able to go since August. This month's read was 'Instructions for a Heatwave' by Maggie O'Farrell. Next month is Robert Harris's ' Fatherland '.
Good news about Baker * chicken*.
The rain is relentless and the wind is strengthening. Hope everyone will have a pleasant evening, especially ann and her GD.
Brilliant news, dragonfly.
I'll have to get that book,*soop*. I've enjoyed the other ones of hers that I've read. I'm just reading "Transcription" by Kate Atkinson and having a good chuckle at it. I hope that you are taking things really easy until the aches go away.
We're recently back from the vet's having taken Baker for his check-up and he is allowed to GO OUT!---so we opened the door and he shot out and started leaping around like the cows do when let out onto the first spring grass. He then disappeared down the garden, even though it's chucking it down with rain, and didn't come back for an hour, drenched to the skin. He's now sleeping the sleep of the exhausted! The vet , such a lovely lady, told us that in her 20 years of work she has never seen a cat that was so ill and yet recovered---we feel really blessed.
Hope that you're not all sprouting flippers in this never-ending rain. TOYA
We have a "Grandchildrens Bedroom" it has two single beds, large tv, games console, toys, books and it is at the back of the house so quiet. Got it ready for the boys (nearly 12 and nearly 11), they are now ensconced in the newly decorated two guest bedrooms (one in each) as they are apparently too old for the "baby room" as they each have double beds at home!!!
more work for me on Monday
Hoping that your shoulder is feeling a lot more comfortable, Baggs
You lot are well aware that I would share any goodies that I have lurking in the cupboard. If you were here...I would share. As you're not...I shall probably need to eat half myself and half with MacSporran. Why is it that our friends know that I am addicted to chocolate and yet...they pay no attention to my pleas not to give me any on special occasions. We seem to speak a very different language.
GrannyGravy The grey has spread all the way across to the west coast of Scotland. However, I've been told that spring is not too far away.
I wanted so much to continue reading the latest Ann Cleeves book throughout the afternoon. 'The Long Call' is very much to my liking. I've had to do other stuff instead. Why? Because I'm trying to make it last just a little longer.
I shall close with the usual message - Thinking of you all - because I do.
Enjoy your Friday evening. I shall do my best to join you again in the morning.

That's a huge relief, dragonfly. Let's hope for no more alarms and a comfortable end to your chemo. soop, chocolate is a well-known painkiller so keep on telling MacS that you absolutely need that box for strictly medicinal reasons.
ann, enjoy the occasion with your GD and go easy (or don't) on the bubbly. It will be good to have a night away in a smart hotel. Hope they do a good breakfast.
What a miserable day this is! continuous rain which has cruelly beaten down one of my first daffodils of the season. There are a myriad things I could be doing but...just but!
Good news dragonfly
Annsixty we know you are partial to a cocktail (or two) perhaps one would ease the day?
soop those chocolates need eating!!
I have just driven the length of our seafront (6 miles) and the grey sea was the same colour as the sky couldn’t see where they meet!!
I am now sitting outside GC school waiting for two of them.....it’s going to be a long weekend
Great news Dragonfly. Only one more session now!
Soop no climbing to get to those chocs!
N&G we now live about an hour from Aldeburgh and every day is a holiday! If it wasn't for the Suffolk roads, we would be about 30 minutes away!
So pleased for you dragonfly.
.
Hope the shoulder is more comfortable soon baggs. Enjoy those chocolates soop. There are less painful ways of getting them
.
Family changes can be hard ann, I’m sure your granddaughter will look after you.
Pouring here and blowing a gale. The drawbridge is pulled up, there’s a new dvd to watch so it matters not.
TOYA. Be good everyone.
mumofmadboys A friend in the village heard about the fall. I now have a box of luxury chocs burning a hole on the top shelf where I can't reach them. What's a girl to do? Yell for my husband to put me out of my misery. Just the one or two (for now).
Hi Soop. Sorry to hear you have had a fall. I bob in and out of the kitchen depending on whether I have a few free minutes!
Hello mumofmadboys Lovely to have your company.
ann Your granddaughter is a special person. Stick together. Enjoy her company. Treat yourself kindly and
. xxx
Hope you can enjoy the day annsixty. It is a lovely tribute to you that your DIL wants you there. Try not to think about the previous wedding day.
[sun] for our dragonfly
God news Dragonfly
I am off shortly to get my glad rags on.
My exDiL is remarrying today and I am going to the hotel late afternoon to support my GD.
It is a very reflective day, it will be 27 years in July since she and my S married, what a different day that was and how much has happened since then.
A very sobering thought.
We are all staying the night at the "boutique" hotel and will come home after breakfast.
Have as good a day as you can folk and special good wishes to all having treatment and feeling under the weather.
Brilliant news, Dragonfly.
