Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark and wet here in Brackley this morning, having a nice quiet day today .
Will watch some cycling on TV later , Yesterday, my favourite stall holder at the flea market was not at Buckingham yesterday mind you blustery conditions as many of stalls have no canopy as to cover.

Happy Moñday every one. Very damp and cold here in Southend but I had a lovely ride along the seafront on my buggie accompanied by Sally my little dog. Many families were out and about with children fiding bikes and scòoters. Reminds me of the lovely days out when my children were small. Those were the days!

Hello Applegran. This is a lovely thread you have come to the right place. Expect to see you here tomorrow.

Waiting for my darling Leo who is 7 today to FaceTime me before his Birthday Party. Where do the years go ?

Susan56 Sun 02-Feb-20 14:19:02

Megs, and to you?

Megs36 Sun 02-Feb-20 14:13:40

Meant 020220...sorry ?

Megs36 Sun 02-Feb-20 14:02:01

I too noticed odd date, mainly because exactly. a year ago I was just home after fairly minor stroke, at the time didn’t have too drastic effects but as the year has gone on I have difficulties with sight , hearing and confidence. Not to mention unsteadiness walking, I won’t drive any more. Unfortunately in the summer my husband was very ill and spent time in hospital ; four years ago he was diagnosed with lung cancer, followed by intensive radio therapy, which resulted in other chest problems, but given the ‘all clear’ in October thank goodness. Now he is driving and ALMOST back to normal, although don’t go far. Hospital appointments tend to be a day outnowandthen!
Many on this post have so many problems but also many don’t mention them so here’s to all. ????and hoping 202020 isagood omen.I have mentioned these things before but don’t make a habit of it.

Roses Mapleleaf GrannyGravy13 gillybob EllanVannin Moggie Thank you to all and all whose names ive missed for the warm welcome and congrats on the new family member.

My babysitting morning has ended, was lovely, found a you tube site, LooLookids, full of nursery rhymes and colourful videos. At only 4 weeks, she was mesmerised and making noises and smiling at me singing them to her too. Love every moment with her

Good morning from a chilly Glasgow.

A very sad time for all at the moment. EllaKeat will be sadly missed. Such a giving lady battling on. How someone could think of outing her is beyond belief.?

Today is Groundhog Day in America gilly, just about sums up how you must be feeling. Sending you both strength to keep going until you can see a light at the end of the tunnel?

For Oldgaijin ?

A very warm welcome Applegran I’m pleased you decided to join us. Look forward to ‘chatting’ with you. ?

It’s bucketting down here now so, another at home day faffing about but lovely to see the days lengthening at last

Hope those struggling have a better day and a pleasant day to all.

Marydoll Sun 02-Feb-20 11:01:34

Applegran, EVERYONE belongs on this thread and you are most welcome. Like Soops Kitchen, it is a safe haven, where all are supported, gentle, caring and often with a few smiles along the way.

Applegran Sun 02-Feb-20 10:45:33

Hello from a windy but dry Cornwall and sending good wishes to every one on this thread (and everyone else too!)
I don't usually post on this thread, so almost feel uneasy and as if I don't belong - but the messages are so caring and friendly that I think you will be kind and welcoming . I am sad to read about the problems and pain others have to contend with - my own seem a lot smaller than some of these - and I wish you all well.

Good morning to all and welcome or Grandmaof2 congratulations on your new granddaughter ,I love a new baby to cuddle.
Thank you Marydoll for lighting a candle I have my lovely daffs on my kitchen windowsill
Gillybob I don't know we're you get your strength from to cope with your ongoing trauma it's unbelievable how the NHS has let you both suffer .I hope things improve soon?

Urmstongran Sun 02-Feb-20 10:32:12

Ha! I love the date gillybob I didn’t notice! Clever.

Mapleleaf Sun 02-Feb-20 10:32:02

Good morning all,

Welcome, Grandmaof2. I think you will find the GM thread friendly and supportive.

Yes, there is a lot of sadness here today, and our thoughts are with those suffering ill health, loss and unhappiness, and thank you, Marydoll for lighting the candles. ?

It's a dull, damp morning today, but it isn't raining as hard as it was at 5 am, when it was battering on the windows. We had plans to have a run out today, but it's so miserable, my heart isn't in it, so will leave it for another time. DH will be able to watch the rugby this afternoon instead. Oh, for some brighter days!

Gillybob, I do hope that you will soon get an appointment to sort your tooth problem out once and for all, and I pray that your DH recovers from this latest infection so that he can have his op.

Well, I'd better motivate myself to get a few jobs done.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-Feb-20 10:28:25

Good morning Mick and all x

It's is grey, bright and breezy here in SE Essex.

Mr.Gravy and I are going out for a late Sunday lunch later, so that is something to look forward to.

Welcome grandmaof2 and congratulations on your new GC.

Thinking of oldgaijin, gillybob and EllaKeats family.

Bellasnana Sun 02-Feb-20 10:13:56

Good morning from Malta where it is a lovely day. I just nipped out to the corner shop as I had run out of milk, and it is warm, sunny and no need for a coat.

I’m very sorry to see more sad news on here, and I’ve just had a sad message from my friend whose husband was killed in an accident just after Christmas. She’s in UK with her family but says she feels lost and doesn’t know what to do. It’s so hard to find any words of comfort really when her life has imploded.

Anyway, lovely to hear about new babies. My niece is having a girl tomorrow by elective C section so I shall be glad to hear when it’s all over. She had a tough time having her little boy who is now 4, but hopefully it will go smoothly this time.

Thinking of you all and hoping for as good a day as possible for everyone.sunshine

harrigran Sun 02-Feb-20 10:09:46

Good morning from NE, weather is grey and damp.
DS and GD2 are visiting this afternoon, I haven't seen them since New Year.
Thinking of all with sickness and troubles, too many at present.

gillybob Sun 02-Feb-20 09:46:59

Good morning from the NE coast where yesterday’s high winds have died down.

DH had his usual disturbed night which means neither of us get very much sleep, I’m just hoping and praying that we can get this new infection under control before the planned date of his operation .

I have an early app with the GP tomorrow as I have taken the last of another very long course of antibiotics and my nose and face are throbbing again. Just what I need at the moment . Still no appointment for a specialist .

Congratulations on your new baby granddaughter grandmaof2 and welcome to Gransnet smile

As others have said there is a lot of sadness around our lovely Good Morning thread lately. Upset to learn that EllaKeat has passed away and thinking too of OldGaijin sad

I have always thought of Sunday as being Monday eve and never seem to enjoy it for what it is (a day off) for worrying that tomorrow is the dreaded Monday and it all starts again. Wish I could win the lottery, not a greedy amount but just enough to be able to retire . I know there are probably thousands of others who feel the same .

Thank you for lighting the candles Marydoll my late grandma always lit candles in church for the family.

Just noticed the date is 02-02-2020 ! Good eh? smile

I hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Love Gillybob xx
