The generation gap.

My youngest child, in her 20’s, recently acquired her first car. She contacted me in a panic on a very frosty day last week to say the screen on her car had gone and she didn’t know what to do. I asked her if it was just cracked and therefore driveable to a garage or whether it was shattered, in which case she’d have to call her insurers. She replied that it was neither, it was just blank but that she could hear the voice.

The voice?? What voice?? confused. The voice that gives the instructions, of course, Mother! Realisation dawned on me - it wasn’t the windscreen that had gone, it was the sat nav screen! If that’s not a generational divide, I don’t know what is. grin

Her father suggested using a map, btw. wink

smilemade me smile, thought that you were going to say that there's a bag over the windscreen.
