Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark, wet and windy here in Brackley this morning.
Yesterday, I did go out but I will say numbers out seem to be down, or not hanging around.
Only hope those living in the reported areas of Lancs and Yorks and other places survive this storm.
Mick

It's been dreadful down here in Exeter. Husband and I have been stuck in the house for nearly 3 days. The only bright thing was a joke a friend sent me:
"Since this storm started my husband hasn't stopped looking through the window...........
If it gets any worse I'll have to let him in."

Bright and sunny here in Birmingham! I went for a very wet, windy, cold and short walk earlier, but am venturing out again now, in dry boots.
Still raining in SE Essex☔️☔️☔️, but on a good note the wind has stopped
Haven’t been able to post recently having forgotten my password and the mechanism for resetting it failed to work. Have tried a different version of the password today and lo, I am able to post again!
Our very local river is very high and lots of neighbours have moved their cars to our bit of the road which is less vulnerable to flooding. Hope it stays that way. We will all be glad to see the back of Storm Dennis and my heart goes out to all those flooded or damaged by it.
Second quiet day in for us but we have young relations coming to lunch tomorrow. I am trying out a gluten-free crumble topping made with GF porage oats, so hope it works. I don’t have any experience of GF cooking but assume it will be fine. DGD1 has announced that she has given up meat (but not sausages, interestingly) so that will be the next challenge.
Thinking supportive thoughts for all our invalids, especially Mr Gilly who has had far more than his fair share of pain and suffering.
I should have said good morning before church. Back late as we are very sociable and I had lunch after with a friend. gillybob. I send lots of positive thoughts for for you both on one countdown to the scan then the op. I am going to watch a film and tidy a drawer at the same time. No need for Sunday dinner as lunch was large and delicious but I do have a special bar of chocolate. Best wishes to all.
Re the parking ticket I have glued a large paper clip to the dashboard - looks awful but does the trick. ?
It has been raining solidly since I opened the bedroom curtains, our lawn is a lake!!!!
Good Morning All x
Weather is nothing to get overly excited about. A bit of a breeze and a drop of rain, nothing at all like others seem to have had. Up to now the storm seems to have missed the "middle" of the map, or just us on/in the Mersey basin.
Read the papers first thing then had my usual crumpets and cocoa and have taken a couple of M&S thick lamb chops from the freezer to have later on with a ( whole ) small cauliflower and new pots-----greedy me !
Another lazy day, what else ? Gillybob reminds me of myself over 30 years ago when my H was ill and I was working at the same time, having to get him up and ready for appointments and a surgical procedure every 3 months at the same hospital where I worked. It makes me feel worn out reading her posts but thankful too that it's not this time of my life as I couldn't do it. 3 cheers to Gillybob xx
Hoping everyone is getting over their ills and chills. Have a peaceful Sunday without any damage from Dennis.
Good morning everyone from a very wet South Birmingham.
My little pond in the garden has burst it's banks so I hope the goldfish don't swim over the edges.
Had a day in yesterday and my sister came to visit. We had a lovely catch up while the storm raged outside.
Quiet day today. Will wrap up snug and walk the dog in a little while.
I hope you all have a lovely day
Good morning everyone,
It doesn’t seem quite as windy as through the night, but we are still getting gusts and showers of rain. I don’t think it has been as severe with storm Dennis here than it was with storm Ciara but it’s still around so I’m hoping as each hour passes it loses its strength. I feel so sorry for the people who are suffering the devastation both storms have brought. It’s heartbreaking for them.
Not a lot planned today other than some baking and maybe watch a film this afternoon.
Take care.
Good morning from a calm and bright Glasgow at the moment!
No plan for today so a good chance to stay cosy and read my book later.
Have a pleasant day all.
Good Morning Mick & all from wet Nottingham, the wind has dropped but rain continues.
Family coming for dinner today, turkey crown & all the trimmings.
Hope all goes well at your DH pre op gillybob
Hope all not well or struggling have a better day.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone from a wet and windy Somerset. We postponed a family visit to day which would have meant much motorway driving - glad not to be out in this weather. Will do come cooking and freezing in preparation for a family gathering in a few weeks. Saw Parasite yesterday - it is a dark dark comedy, and about the gap between rich and poor, as well as how poverty or riches changes us.
Oh no Chewbacca, hope you stay safe.
Harrigran we watch the Lowry film as well and as you say, Timothy Spall never fails. The film was fantastic.
Good morning everyone from a very wet Cheshire. Woke up to find my garden is like a boating lake and hoping it doesn't come any closer to the house.
Urmstongran I am sending you a PM.
Same here gillybob what a night of rain and wind it was. Awoke early as I thought the rain was coming in!! We have a dodgy garage roof which I was concerned about but fingers crossed all well. Sunday lunch to make and weekly catch up of Washing and ironing! Have a good day all.
Good morning from Breezy Burton Upon Trent. It’s very dull, but not raining at the moment. Have a wonderful Sunday everyone. Hugs Barry ??
My japologies dragonfly. I’m delighted I’m wrong too! x
Another one with fingers crossed for you gilly. I sincerely hope the operation goes ahead, and he is free from pain at last xx
Yes the actual operation is scheduled for 24th February although he has to pass a pre-op first . I can’t bear the thought of it being cancelled again .
After a very noisy night, very strong winds and heavy rain, quite calm here now in Norwich ! No visible damage to fences etc! And no untethered trampolines!! Hope all is well ‘up north ‘ and flood barriers have done their job.
Out to lunch today on a bit of a reconnoiter for venue for family lunch at end of March!
Keep safe everyone!
Good morning from the NE where it is bright and breezy.
Yesterday was a day of wind and rain so we watched Mrs Lowry and son, really enjoyed it. Timothy Spall never disappoints.
Thinking of all on the sick list.
Fingers crossed here too Gilly - I do hope the op goes ahead this time and with complete success. It really is about time the poor man is pain free x
