Got to thinking just now - can we be kind about posters❓

With all this about meanness nowadays on social media how about a little experiment.

I’ve posted.

Can the next person up look at the post above them (about me, to start with) and try to say something nice about the one before? We do ALL have good qualities I’m certain......

It might make for an uplifting thread?

If you can’t (or don’t ‘know’ the poster above to you) leave it and wait. Come back later when you recognise a poster’s style.

Off we go. I’m waiting (in trepidation ha!)

Can I just add a thanks to Urmstongran for giving me ‘permission’ to stop reading books I’m not enjoying, on the 50 books a year thread. ?

GrannyGravy13 Mon 17-Feb-20 19:04:23

I have a lot to thank Anniebach’for, and soop is an absolute star ?

Urmstongran Mon 17-Feb-20 18:28:38

Um... Cherrytree. Soz. x
My memory isn’t what I thought & I’d only had to scroll down.
Oh dear.

Let’s hear it for soop
?

What a lovely idea Charleygirl!

Cherrytree59 Mon 17-Feb-20 17:56:10

Ps I have already had a kind mention, please move on to other posters.

Can I give a shout for Soopsmile

Anniebach was one of the first posters I came across when I joined a couple of years ago.
I view her as a wise, kind and honest lady who has seen more than her fair share of adversity but is eager to help others through this forum where she can.

Cherrytree59 Mon 17-Feb-20 17:52:47

Anniebach has remarkable strength and faith.
Like many, I have been glad of the advice and kindness she has shown to me and other posters.
thanks

POGS who stays so calm on the politics threads, never snappy, replies always polite even when a saint would swear
and I love reading her posts, she says what I would like to say.

Wish I could name so many here who are so kind and caring ,
thank you all x

POGS Mon 17-Feb-20 17:17:28

Zsorry Megs I am sure you are lively too.

POGS Mon 17-Feb-20 17:16:45

Frit to death to post.

Where are we up to Lemongrove

Stands her ground, is too often misrepresented by others and has given me kind advice.

Megs36 Mon 17-Feb-20 16:28:01

Elegran— duly reprimanded, will read posts properly another time??

Urmstongran Mon 17-Feb-20 15:42:14

The pleasure’s all mine kitty I’m loving it too! Nice to hear ‘good stuff’ plus some insightful anecdotes on posters which is interesting in itself.

Callistemon Mon 17-Feb-20 15:40:34

lemongrove is always sunny, upbeat and positive and will stick up for others who are having a hard time on threads.

(You can pay me later, lemon, in used fivers).

Jane10 Mon 17-Feb-20 15:36:14

I've had reason to be grateful to Elegran for being the voice of reason. MawB and lemongrove have stuck up for me on various contentious threads.
I'm still in the cloakroom, coat on and poised for departure.
While I remember Phoenix is good fun.

kittylester Mon 17-Feb-20 15:22:59

I love this thread urmston, thank you for starting it.

Cherrytree was on the gardening thread and advised me to buy a bargain allotment kit. Am I correct? I did and it was the most wonderful success. We had raspberries, blueberries, blackcurrants, strawberries and gooseberries plus loads of vegetable seeds,
I have to admit I haven't spotted any of her posts recently so perhaps she's too busy gardening.

Cherrytree59 Mon 17-Feb-20 14:29:48

Lemongrove will not remember, but when I first joined GN way back in 2014.
One of my first posts was on one of the political threads, yikes !!
She promptly told two posters in no uncertain terms to back off!!
So thank you Lemon
I always enjoy your posts and games ?

Urmstongran Mon 17-Feb-20 14:14:48

Someone to share something nice about lemongrove I believe?

Urmstongran Mon 17-Feb-20 14:13:29

Ignore me.

Urmstongran Mon 17-Feb-20 14:12:56

Hi BlueSky ? lovely to have you join in.

BlueSky Mon 17-Feb-20 14:11:19

Bathsheba thanks! Yes I'm a she and I hope my personality matches my name! Well most of the time I should be called GreySky but I'm trying. I don't know much about you but I had noticed your biblical name before.

Urmstongran Mon 17-Feb-20 14:08:28

We like ‘off piste’ too Elegran
No need to shut up.
All (kind) comments welcome!
?

lemongrove Mon 17-Feb-20 13:50:04

I always welcome the input and humour from Callistemon
As well as the kind comments and fair judgements.?

Callistemon Mon 17-Feb-20 13:42:08

Don't reply to my post anyone, it's Bathsheba's turn

Callistemon Mon 17-Feb-20 13:41:07

I like Jane10's posts, hope she hasn't put her coat on and gone!
And anyone who writes like she does just has to be nice (such an inadequate word).
