Downsizing house and wardrobe

When I was in a similar situation moving to a much smaller property I just had to be ruthless with my clothes.

I put everything on the bed. Things I hadn't worn for over a year went in the charity pile except for a few I really still liked.
I had a rubbish pile of old things I wouldn't pass on. It was surprising how much had just been hanging there or taking up drawer space that I knew I would never wear again

I have kept one pair of boot cut pants in case they come back. Cal. FLAM! Yes I think I do find it hard to let go of things but I must. I try to think of Marie Kondo. Does it bring me joy , some of it does, some is sentimental

P.S. This is before I start on the kitchen stuff and all the stuff in the rooms we have now but won't have in the next house ,I never realised we had so much until I started to clear it , now I know why people say moving is stressful ,

do you find it difficult to let go of things in general?

There was another thread recently - apparently skinny jeans etc are out and boot cut are back in!
Perhaps that will help you decide.

'Have I worn it in the last two years ?' is another question.

I have had a busy traumatic afternoon. ,we hope to move to a much smaller house this Summer if everything goes to plan. I have 4 wardrobes of clothes not big wardrobes , but I am going to have to condense it in to two wardrobes, including my winter coats and jackets, it's so hard to know what to keep and what to bag up for charity, How many trousers, jumpers, tops to keep I do have a lot, then there's my wardrobe of golf wear to start on. , and the shoes and boots , I hate giving stuff away as I always " need" it once it's gone , I have lots of cardigans but what to keep is the question,, Advice appreciated.
