...but not in government matters he’s sired an offspring

GagaJo Sun 01-Mar-20 11:15:17

No wonder he's got no time to do politics and has to let Cummings do it all for him!

sarahellenwhitney Sun 01-Mar-20 11:13:00

Daddima
What would you know of BJ as a father.?

mcem Sun 01-Mar-20 11:11:00

Neatly summarised SirChenjin.
Add in his dismissal from previous jobs because of his lies and dishonesty, his lack of loyalty and his devious tactics.
Why aren't our own dear Hyacinth Buckets clutching their pearls like good little Tory ladies?

Greta Sun 01-Mar-20 11:10:21

I don't really care what Boris Johnson gets up to in his private life. What does worry me is that a man like that is our Prime Minister.

Joesoap Sun 01-Mar-20 11:09:49

Not living in the UK I am a bit ot of touch with these things, has Boris really six other children? and isnt divorced yet wow thats an eye opener for me, thanks GN,s he is obviously a very busy man in all departments,I hope he keeps his eye on the ball ie.EU negotiations.

SirChenjin Sun 01-Mar-20 11:05:18

Headline: Not yet divorced 55 year old gets engaged to woman 24 years younger after fathering an as yet unconfirmed number of other children by 2 other women.

Jeremy Kyle wants you back Boris! I suppose the alternative form of deflection was to start a war, so perhaps we’ve got off lightly. What a sleazebag he is.

Shelmiss Sun 01-Mar-20 11:02:58

I think it’s great. At least he can afford to have 6 children, not like a lot of people who think it’s ok to just keep on producing babies without being able to afford to provide for them.

GagaJo Sun 01-Mar-20 11:00:27

I think there are 2 points really. What he and his women do is about choice. But he has a clearly bad track record with children. It's a new person he's making. Children NEED their fathers and he's absent with others already.

I REALLY hope it was her choice and not his political manoeuvring.

icanhandthemback Sun 01-Mar-20 10:56:12

Sometimes people are unfaithful because they aren't particularly happy with their partners because they weren't really in love with them before they embarked on serious commitment. They thought they knew what love was but they didn't. Then they meet 'the one' and settle down. Who knows, Carrie might be that person and might be the love of Boris's life with their baby cementing that relationship. His track record isn't great but where there's life there's hope!

GagaJo Sun 01-Mar-20 10:48:55

I agree, Susieq62. Yet another child brought into the world to be ignored by him.

GagaJo Sun 01-Mar-20 10:47:59

I'm less bothered by their age difference than his lack of fatherly responsibility.

She IS after all a 31 year old adult. As one of my students said in PHSE the other day, 'A 10 year age gap is fine between 25 and 35, but if it's between 15 and 25 it clearly isn't.'

Susieq62 Sun 01-Mar-20 10:47:07

My heart sank when i heard this news! I couldn’t imagine having sex with Boris and another child for him to bring into his dysfunctional family. I hope his fiancée knows what she is doing!!
I truly believe they announced this to take the public’s eye off all of the damage being caused across Government, the communities flooded out and the lovely Ms Patel.
Don’t give me “ It’s lovely news” . The man is a disgrace!!!

Witzend Sun 01-Mar-20 10:46:59

It’s just what Alpha Males do, isn’t it?

And very often have. Not so long ago there was enough deference towards anyone with rank/power/money - or all three - that their affairs/hanky-panky - not to mention actual abuse - would rarely make it into the papers. In any case, such a person’s version of events would normally be believed over any unimportant Little Person’s version, because Important People were invariably honest and upright, weren’t they?

Perhaps the Profumo Affair was a bit of a turning point there - fresh in my mind after the Christine Keeler TV series recently, though I do remember all the hoo-ha at the time.

Here, here GrannyGravy13!

News of a birth of any child is ALWAYS good news to me.

Pepine Sun 01-Mar-20 10:43:47

I read this morning that Carrie was 6yrs old when Johnson last got married. Food for thought

GrannyGravy13 Sun 01-Mar-20 10:42:34

I know someone who married a serial philanderer, marriages and children. They have been completely in love and happily married for 37 years.

Rosina Sun 01-Mar-20 10:39:51

He never talks about his private life.
She has mostly kept out of sight, and in the background if she has attended political events with him.
He is a rich man and I cannot imagine that there is a child out there unsupported by him - wouldn't we have heard all about it in the gutter press? I don't doubt they have tried hard to find something.
His daughter was undoubtedly upset by the divorce, that's a natural reaction when parents part company; he married his second wife when she was pregnant by him before he had divorced the first.
In other countries a politican's private life is just that.

Oldwoman70 Sun 01-Mar-20 10:39:12

GagaJo That still doesn't justify that comment. It, and others on this thread, are aimed at her - not him.

Aepgirl Sun 01-Mar-20 10:36:24

Something to celebrate in these grey dismal days.

rowanflower0 Sun 01-Mar-20 10:35:55

yggdrasil - not to mention all those poor people with flooded homes!!!

GagaJo Sun 01-Mar-20 10:35:26

It seems not, Anniebach. Funny old world. The Mrs. Merton question WAS a classic though.

GagaJo Sun 01-Mar-20 10:34:43

Oldwoman70, it actually isn't his appearance I object to. None of use can help our exterior (or can we? See the 10 years younger in 10 days thread). It is his INTERIOR I object to.

Serial adulterer. Feckless father. Puppet PM.

On that note, I too, married an immigrant. I'm assuming your husband wasn't a megalomanic?

Anniebach Sun 01-Mar-20 10:32:48

Debbie McGee and Paul Daniels were married 28 years so not
money ?

GagaJo Sun 01-Mar-20 10:32:02

Hahahahaha!!!!! Trisher, you DO make me laugh!

I pity Carrie and the baby actually. I'm not mocking her. She is deluded. Her baby is going to grow up without a dad. I hope she has a nice father of her own who can be a good grandad to the baby, because it sure as hell isn't going to see a lot of Boris.

Still, I guess his fecklessness is acceptable because she won't need to claim benefits when he moves on to his next victim.

And PLEASE! Comparing BJ to Yul Brynner? Shall we have a show of hands?

Oldwoman70 Sun 01-Mar-20 10:31:49

How does anything justify the comment

"What I don't get is how Carrie can bring herself to, you know... with him!"

I find that particularly unpleasant as I had the same comment made to me just because I married an immigrant.
