Me too.

Glad to hear maw is ok. I have given up chocolate, nuts and....mint sauce for lent ?.

Marydoll Thu 05-Mar-20 19:18:07

I think it is greater penance to be on GN at the moment, rather than off it. ?

Chewbacca Thu 05-Mar-20 19:21:04

Mint sauce Doodle? Why mint sauce? Go on, I'm intrigued! grin

Marydoll I am inclined to agree- I think Mawbroon made the best decision and it certainly is not a penance. (sp)

My intention too, but I fell at the first hurdle.

Well done, * MawBroon*, you're made of sterner stuff than me!

Marydoll ?

Well chewy if you’ve never had mint sauce on chocolate you haven’t lived ?. Seriously though, I usually give up something for lent. Chocolate, nuts and mint sauce, were the first 3 things I thought of that I absolute love ( though not all at the same time) so I thought ok I will go with those 3 and that is my giving up things part of lent this year along with some extra prayers and thinking time.

How do you think they make mint choc ice cream if they don’t melt mint sauce and chocolate together (actually that sounds disgusting) ?
P.s. I haven’t given up the vino ?. Cheers

At the church I used to attend the rector always said it was more important for us to decide to do something extra or useful for others than to give up something like chocolate. That always struck me as a good thing to do.

Hmm, I like mint choc chip ice cream but, now you've said mint sauce on chocolate, I'm not so sure hmm. Thanks for that Doodle.

I agree with you Jane but better to do something.I am going to Mass every morning during the season and tomorrow I will have the pleasure of our local school children attending. Their singing is wonderful and as I lead them I can see their little faces full of joy at being a part of the service. It's not really a penance!
