A warm welcome Namsnanny. Lovely to have your company.
It would be sensible to bring in the peanuts if there are any going spare. I love badgers. Not rats.
CherryCezzy I also loved your post. So sorry to hear about your seizure. Such a shock for you and anyone who witnessed it. I've put a tartan rug on the chaise. Recline and we'll tend to you until you've fully recovered.
Sparklefizz When I was more youthful (than I am now) my natural curls resembled an affro. I loved it. If I can find a photo, I shall share it with you.
I awoke in the night to a loud rapping sound on the roof and window. It was a ginormous hail storm.
Maw Seeings as it's you, I shall share Justin with you.

Soop's kitchen for kind and caring folk
(1001 Posts) Here we are again...happy as can be...all good friens and jolly good company.
and (hugs) a plenty.
Good to hear from you Izabella You did well to weather the pool storm. The letter must have helped but for goodness sake, how can people be so unaware and unkind. You must both be disappointed about the apartment. Here’s hoping for a better one to be available soon. Love to you both.
Hope you feel better cherrycezzy, used to it though you may be still not something you needed or wanted.
A bit chaotic here. Well, more than usual.
. Mr C is attacking the gloss paint. How I wish we had a decorator, kitty you’re very wise. There’s no way Mr C will relinquish his paintbrush though so more patience than I have available will be needed. I could be hiding in here for the next month.
I’m about to produce food, should cheer us both. Won’t be in tomorrow as we’re off to our friends funeral. Couple of hours each way, probably more as it’s Friday, but it feels right to go.
TOYA. Be careful out there everyone.
Welcome back Izabella I wonder why it is that some folk take pleasure in hurting the feelings of others. They must be such sad individuals. Recently, when watching 'Motorway Cops' and the likes on tv, I am appalled by the disgusting language that is hurled at the police officers.
I too am sorry that you missed out on the apartment that you had hoped for. There will be another. It will be more right for you. Us lot say so.
Delighted to see you back Izabella especially with clean, sweet smelling hands! You are lucky to be able to buy soap in your neck of the woods because Waitrose only had really expensive stuff the other day and no liquid soap.
During your short absence, we have had more new people join so welcome to all. Everybody appears to be very busy so I will not keep you from your chores.
TOYA
Lovely to see you back Izabella and so sorry you were subjected to such cruel people.
Hope you are feeling better cherrysezzy.
Lovely picture of you soop I used to spend hours straightening my hair.
Smileless Dylan is handsome and would love my bedroom as does Tara. I bought a comfortable chair for myself to sit and watch TV. The chair is beside the radiator so Tara is there whenever she is at home. Dylan would love it because it is cosy as well as comfortable.
I have waited indoors for hours for a parcel which was delivered through madam's catflap without informing me.
soop my mother spent many hours and great pain to me to attempt to curl my lovely straight hair. I am not sure how she would have coped if I had had a curly mop like yours!
May I book Mr. C please whenever or if he ever finishes your house?
TOYA
We shall add Dylan's handsome photograph to our ever growing pampered pet portraits. He looks very noble and wise.
Welcome back, Izabella, people like those at the pool are just trash and should be ignored. Sorry about the apartment and hope an even better one turns up soon. I can donate some sweetly scented soap for the kitchen ablutions.
Smileless, Dylan's a very handsome boy and obviously knows where to be comfortable.
cornergran, I wouldn't dare let my OH loose with a paintbrush; I'd be clearing up paint drips for weeks . I'm afraid all decorating (not a lot!) has to be done by moi, and my days of teetering up a stepladder should really be over, to avoid over stretching the NHS.
soop, WOW, what a lot of hair you had. Mine has always been on the rather ungenerous side, unfortunately.
I'm just starting on the process of looking for a good builder, so please wish me luck!
Aaaaagh! If I have to spend another day indoors I shall go mental. I’ve only been out twice since Xmas and those were in December!
I’ve cancelled the cruise we were going on to the Baltic in May as I’m asthmatic and didn’t think it was a good idea to risk it. I’ve rebooked for next June but it’s 2 days shorter and £2500 dearer. We also only get 1/3 of the on board spending money so I’m not a very happy bunny. At least I managed to get the last suite available and it’s my usual one.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE can we have some nice warm sunshine so that although I’m self isolating I can at least sit out on my patio.
I thought I wouldn’t enjoy retirement and boy was I right!
Sorry to moan but I am fed up.
Oh soop what fabulous hair, you lucky girl?
Galen, you sound as if you've got cabin fever! I know what you mean about longing to sit outside. My father used to say that there was always one perfect day in February but this year it didn't come.
morethan such dreadfully sad posts and such wonderful granddaughters. You and all the family deserve better. Prayers for all.
Galen I am sorry you are not enjoying retirement yet. I have family who are confined to barracks following a trip to Venice followed by a feverish child. 10yo boy climbing the walls!
Afternoon all !
It is official the world has gone nuts ! In the supermarket today , no toilet rolls, no soap and no pasta BUT ….do not be afraid ...hot cross buns were 8 for £1 !! So the new slogan for these sad times is … wipe your bum on a bun !!
Having done my bit for world peace :-) , hello all newcomers ! Glad you found us in the kitchen.... bun anyone ???
Sorry to hear about the whole cruise debacle Galen but probably for the best. Hows the search for a hobby for retirement coming ? I hear the USA could do with a straight talking woman as the bloke in charge is nuts !! :-)
Smileless Dylan looks like a previous owner was a Pharaoh!! He's quite something.
Welcome back Izabella :-)
Nice picture Soop you haven't changed a bit !!
Our boiler is now humming along nicely so all is not lost in this world of untold bad news !!
Time I went and at least thought about dinner. I'll leave you with my newest sign, I promise its not as wonky as it looks !!
izabellagood to hear from you. So pleased you received such support re the pool situation. How horrible for you but some people just aren’t nice.
Hope you find a nice place to live soon, you will, fear not.
Galen I sympathise, I have been indoors for 10 days and it was driving me quietly mad, but am able to go out which I did, today. So sorry you can’t. Echoing your plea for some sunshine.
morethan thinking of you
Thank you Doodle, Namsnanny, Susan, Carillion, cornergran dragonfly and soop. I'm feeling much better now. Thanks for the use of the chaise and the snuggly soft tartan rug soop, just what I needed. So many well wishes has brightened me up no end ?.
Isabella, those people (if you can actually call them people) were totally out of order! I don't like to wish anyone any harm but I do like to think "what goes around comes around". People with malice in their hearts hurt others but they are the ones that will lose out in the end, they will reap what they sow.
I've brought a variety of cream ? s today that I bought in the local village when I was out and about earlier. Tuck in everyone.
Me and my WP are going to cook some food now, nice and simple today - melt in the middle smoked haddock fishcakes etc.
Take care everyone.
I am logging off for today. Feeling exceedingly weary and lack-lustre. The weather does not help. Rain is thrashing on the window and there is a chill in the air. Galen is so right...we all deserve some sunshine...lots of the stuff.
I am thinking of you all. I feel so lucky to have such kind and considerate friends in our kitchen. x

N&G Lots of toilet rolls in our Sainsbury's but no one is buying them as they've got a year's supply at home!!
Izabella I am new here so don't know your back story, but the swimming pool incident sounds very upsetting. People can be so horrible at times. As CherryC says "What goes around comes around" and I believe that.
Been making my cake of weird ingredients again today. Please do have a slice.
Have a happy teatime everyone. xx
N&G
Oh so true.
Soop Wishing you sunshine!
xx
Galen, what a shame that you have to sacrifice your cruise. Better not to take the risk, but you must be dreadfully disappointed. I am trying very hard to avoid the virus. I feel like curling up under the duvet and emerging sometime in the summer.
Izabella, I won't say what I would like to do to those horrid people who victimised you at the swimming pool. They are simply beneath contempt. I am pleased to see you back among us and hope you will soon find a suitable apartment. Meanwhile, spring, against all the odds, is springing. There are fat leaf buds on my trees and the new daffs are coming into flower. I handed over a lot of gladioli and iris bulbs to the garden maintenance men to plant them ready for summer. I am not quite sure exactly where they put them! The collared doves are flirting!
Keep well, everyone. Be lucky. ?
You have my sympathy galen, I was so fed up when confined to bed for a few months recently due to the back fractures.
We have just returned from our overnight stay in Brecon, there was snow on the surrounding mountains this morning. After such a long confinement, we enjoyed every minute. The Morrisons there was well stocked with everything except tinned tomatoes and pasta. ?
soop you haven't changed a bit, hope you have a restful night.
Izabella, it is lovely to hear from you. I'm so sorry that you had such an upsetting incident at the pool. What is wrong with people. I'm sorry that you missed that particular apartment, and yes I'm sure that another will become available soon. My best wishes to you and your DH.
Hope you are feeling better Cherrycezzy ?
I am so sorry you are having to cancel your cruise. It is very disappointing. And sorry you are not able to get out.
I am looking forward to the next few days of staying at home after a week of hospital visits.
