Thank you for your kind words CherryCezzy and the delicious food which I may need to sample.
Just thought I'd pop my head round the door. Thank you ? for your welcome soop. I can't stop at the moment though. I just wanted to give you this freshly baked Morrocan bread and pat of bitter cherry butter ( the butter is bitter, not me
. Enjoy, everyone.
Like other newbies I don't know those going through difficult times at the moment but sending ❤️ felt wishes to you all. See you later, time permitting x
Hello the kitchen and welcome to all new kitcheners.
I was sad to hear about Izabella’s partner, and thank you Doodle for letting us know. As if things were not difficult enough for them without this.??
N&G the toilet is the only sensible place for my efforts at crochet, but yours certainly made me smile! If you can’t get loo paper, make your own! Sorted!
All this talk of Welshcakes! I’m afraid I don’t care for them, but they are a great favourite with fy gwr, so may I claim a couple just for him?
Corner they both made it back in one piece, and their team won, but I still think they were a couple of silly b*****s to go inthe first place! Time will tell whether I was right!
Having said that, we went off this morning to watch GS’s team play now their pitch has finally dried out - sort of! Open air, a much much smaller crowd, and we won also! The touchline conversation amongst the parents this morning, though, was all about the virus and it’s implications, particularly for travel in the upcoming Easter holidays.
Well I must go and have a scrabble about to see what I can rustle up for lunch - we’ve had too many heavy meals recently, so we are on a light diet today. I tried to save you some steak and kidney pud, Soop, but my greedy son had seconds!
Hope to look in later!
Just came on to send my best wishes to the lovely Izabella , her husband and all the poorly Kitcheners. ?
Doodle Thank you for being kind enough to pass Izabella's message on to us lot in the kitchen. and thank you for responding on our behalf. Izabella and her husband are special people.
ann You are never far from my thoughts.
corner Our visitors left at 7:pm. We had soup and toast for our supper. Tonight we shall have that which we should have had yesterday.
Also, we were convinced that the clocks went back last night. Of course, we were mistaken. Now all the clocks need re-setting.
N&G I mustn't show MacS your latest creation. He's bound to want several to add to the rest in the loft.
Yet another special occasion for your granddaughter, anno and the rest of the family.
Another glorious day in bonnie Kintyre. This afternoon Scotland play France. I shall be dashing away with the proverviable smoothing iron and making a whole lot of noise.
Huge welcome to AGAA4 and CherryCezzy
silverlining48 I am strictly "hour-glass" shaped. Although, of late, the waist has thickened ever so slightly. MacSorran says that he thinks I'm perfectly proportioned. Enough said. We won't put it to a vote.
I agree anno I do not want to hear the word drought in the vocabulary for a long time.
So sorry to hear about Izabella's husband and their trials and tribulations. I hope she will read our good wishes and know we are thinking of them. Doodle, I'm sure that message will get through to her.
International Women's Day and my 17-year-old GD is being given an award by her town's mayor for her voluntary service as a cub leader since she was 13. The cubs love her! Wish I could be there today but I am avoiding train travel for the foreseeable future and my old banger might not make it there and back
nor would I!
A typical March day here - sunshine and showers. The forecast looks quite forbidding, however, so we might be getting February back again.
Have a good day, everyone. xx
Good morning the kitchen!
Gosh, all this kitchen cleaning of cupboards, well done but for me it would have to be done overnight...by the little people.
smileless, you might have started a new trend.
Hello and welcome to all new kitcheners.xxx
Doodle, thanks for sending news of Isabella xx
Nand G, photo! ??
Hope you are feeling better now xx
I might of be single-handedly responsible re the toilet roll stock in Brittany...have been using our loo rolls to make seed tapes.
Dear annsixty, sending love.
morethan ..xxxxx
Thanks Doodle I have been thinking about Izabella and was concerned she hasn’t posted. I wish them both the best and hope their current situation improves soon.
Have a good day everyone, the sun has come out so may have a walk. Could do with a bit of fresh air.
Good morning to you all in this lovely warm kitchen.
Quick tea today as the broth was all eaten yesterday but there is some walnut shortbread left. Might make mushroom Omelettes with salad and homemade oven chips. All are welcome.
DH is at a monthly car do (yawn) so I'm heading out now for a bit of a walk then home to start making some cushion covers. Have a lovely Sunday. X
A miracle- I have not had to switch on the central heating here yet. I must go to my local M&S food store and see what they have- I fancy something "different" for supper this evening and I am tired of cooking.
The sun is out so at least my solar panels will be earning their keep and I will have hot water.
Moaning Minnie started around 5 am persuading me to move but did not mange until 8.30 am so she is out and about.
Thank you for the message from Izabella, Doodle, it is true that you never know what trials are lurking round the corner.
I might have a pootle around my kitchen cupboards later, who knows what I may find?
Annsixty, I do hope that now you have a date for your operation that you can see the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel, be kind to yourself and take each day as it comes.
Love the loo roll NanaandGrampy
Hi everyone. I spent yesterday afternoon baking one of my cakes of weird ingredients .... and no, before you ask, I have not eaten it all yet! (Won't be long, tho) Anyone like a slice??
Lovely and sunny here this morning, and daffodils opposite my house looking very pretty.
Just going to have a 2nd cuppa before I get on with some chores. What an exciting life I lead. Have a great day everyone. xx
Good morning ladies. There's a lovely chocolate and fresh cream cake waiting to be devoured.
That will have to go I'm afraid Charleygirl; gardening equipment in a kitchen drawer
. I hope you're not planning on keeping loo rolls in the kitchen too!
I found a beautiful wine decanter I'd forgotten I had, it was at the back of a cupboard. I wonder what hidden treasures we'll find in your kitchen Charleygirl.
I don't know Izabella and her DH but I'm sending my very best wishes
.
My apologies- I should just stay with Cherry methinks.
I have done a "naughty" and ordered x4 loo packs of 9 as part of my Morrisons order next week.
Maybe when Smileless clears out my cupboards I will be able to hoard tins of stuff. The problem is what because I do not like baked beans, tuna or sardines. I have a feeling she will be less than impressed to see gardening equipment in one drawer.
TOYA
So sad for Izabella and her husband.
It seems to me life can change on the spin of a sixpence .Two minutes ago they were having a holiday of a lifetime in NZ.
My own wheels have slightly come off but I am plodding on.
Kindest and positive thoughts to you all.
Doodle thank you for news of Izabella, I had been worrying a little. What a worry for both of them.
We have a very busy kitchen currently. Welcome everyone.
Love it NandG, but you couldn't possibly; could you!!
Evening all,
How nice it is to see new faces in the kitchen , welcome AGA and Cherry .
As we have so many cakes I think Ill bring in a family pack of toilet rolls - then we're ready!!
Thanks for the message about Izabella Doodle .
I'll leave you with my latest craft.... I think it could come in handy!!!
Thank you Doodle for passing on the message from Izabella.
TOYA
Evening All.
Hello to everyone I’ve not met before and many thanks for the cake. A grey old day here, cake is most welcome. Oh dear Charley, fancy not knowing what a Welsh cake is. Mr C would be horrified to hear it. Not that I knew what one was until I met him
.
Thank you doodle for sharing the message about izabella and of course for passing on our love. I’m sorry they are both having such a hard time, here’s hoping for better news very soon.
Hope life seems brighter soon ann and you feel more comfortable dragonfly. Did your men folk return in one piece greyd? We’re having all sorts of debates about things planned for the near future. I’ve given up asking our two what they think. Contradictory responses aren’t helpful! Hope you had a good, chatty afternoon soop.
Memory fails me now so I’ll just say TOYA and take care everyone.
Welcome to all our newcomers. I’m glad you’ve stocked up the larder with lots of goodies. I shall sample them all ?
News from Izabella
Hi all. I PMd Izabella a few days ago and received a reply today from a friend of hers. So as to not put my own spin on things I will quote what was said.
“I am writing this for Izabella as things are a bit up and down at the moment. Her chap has lost a significant amount of vision and they are both upset and worried. They are back and forth to hospital which is a significant and time consuming journey for all concerned as they have to go to a major city some distance away. Please let Izabella’s virtual friends know she has not forgotten them.”
I replied telling Izabella’s friend how much she means to us and how respected she is on our forum. I asked her to pass on our love and best wishes to Izabella and her chap.
Boo hoo ?? Wales lost. I'm off to drown my sorrows with
whilst my WP celebrates with his g&t . Drat!
