DGS2's GF developed symptoms last Fri. She was staying at DD1's so is still there under isolation. As is DD who works at dr's surgery so can't go in, DSiL who works from home anyway and 4 DGC ranging in age from 21 to 14 home from uni or school. Gf has recovered v well but can't go home yet so we are all waiting for the second shoe to drop! Luckily they have big house and garden! And helpers around.

CherryC Our posts crossed. I agree that the police may be the best people to look into the matter of your friend's absence. A very worrying time for you. Please keep us updated.

soop Thu 26-Mar-20 16:31:16

GrannyGravy Quite right! We should use all the stuff we "keep for best", doing so will help to lift our spirits. A lovely post.

I have cycled for 35 mins. I am sweating (healthily) and, would you believe, I feel heaps better than I did at this time yesterday.

I have never listened to music as I pedal merrily to no place in particular. However, I have been doing my exercise whilst listening to ABBA and it worked a treat.

I shall leave you with the message...thinking of you all. No matter what, if we can keep each other's spirits bouyant, then that we'll shall do. Until tomorrow smile flowers moon

Very worried now, my friend's car is parked in the Sainsbury's car park (WP nipped in to pick up some final bits & bobs) . He went around the entire store and spoke to security to enquire whether they knew whether anyone had taken ill or collapsed in the store in the last few days. They said they'd been on duty all week and no no one had. They advised calling the police so I have. The police are going to make a few inquiries. All I can do now is wait.
Thanks for your kind message soop I promise I will as long as you do the same.
Grannmarie it's the moustache I love in that one. I'm okay on that front but if I don't take care of my chin I'll have a beard ?
GrannyGravy I think we should all be using our best glassware etc because when we come out of this lockdown we'll be partying so hard it'll be better to save the cheapest we've got as it could get a bit lively grin
Annsixty I think you should make your GD wear headphones and rock around the clock. Music is good for the soul. Go for it gal!
I am leaving some scones on the side, enjoy ❤️

Too much to reply to other than to say TOYA flowers

Synonymous Thu 26-Mar-20 15:38:03

soop I am so sorry to hear that you are feeling poorly and just wondered if you were aware that there is often a connection between cycling and UTIs - so perhaps use a different form of exercise in the future? Hope you feel much better very soon. flowers

Good afternoon kitcheners.

I started this morning by doing 45 minutes of Callanetics.

I then shook the proverbial leg .........cleaned the kitchen blinds and inside window, cleaned kitchen display shelves and everything thereon and then emptied the good glass cupboard washed all the contents and rearranged.

I have also decided to use the beautiful Chrystal glasses as opposed to saving them for a special occasion.

The sun is shining, the birds are singing and we are one day closer to coming out of isolation.

Stay positive folks, we've got this under control flowers

soop Thu 26-Mar-20 14:19:35

Grannmarie Oh yes! That could be me three months hence. grin

Grannmarie Thu 26-Mar-20 14:02:12

Hello all,
Tanith, love itsmile

Soop, Smileless, CherryCezzy, Grandma French, glad you're enjoying the funnies, prepare yourselves for the next one..

Feelingmyage, they arrive daily to my WhatsApp from family and friends, I'm very happy to pass them on, help lighten the mood.
Soop, Teddy is just gorgeous, that wee face must have done you a power of good!

I love seeing my grandchildren via video calls and photos, so thankful for the technology to keep in touch with our loved ones.

TOYA

soop Thu 26-Mar-20 14:02:03

Thank you, Doodle smile

Doodle Thu 26-Mar-20 13:38:22

Love the jokes and pictures. Take care all. TOYA

soop Thu 26-Mar-20 13:38:14

tanith Oh, how I loved 'Only fools...' and wasn't dear Trig brilliant.
The old sit-coms were marvellous. We have the box set of 'Dad's Army' and no matter how many times we watch an episode, we always laugh at the same silly situations.

Grannmarie Love the joke. grin

soop Thu 26-Mar-20 13:33:39

Feelingmyage I very much like your closing sentence. flowers

ann You need those ear phone thingies. I haven't a set. But, if you had, you could listen to as much rock 'n' roll as takes your fancy.
From time to time, when MacSporran is in his man cave, I play my selection of Elvis songs. When I was very young, I first bought Heartbreak Hotel. My father 's reaction was...what a bloody awful row. wink

Grandmafrench I am feeling extremely peckish right now. A flapjack ot two would not go to waist waste.

CherryC Please take the very best possible care of yourself. Us lot like having your company.

Feelingmyage55 Thu 26-Mar-20 13:10:49

annsixty. Your GD could wear earphones. I am sure she will have some or you could borrow them. We need music just now.
soop I hope you have spoken to your GP. I’m sure you have. Take care.
annmarie. I don’t know where you find them but your jokey posts are hilarious. Especially the Loch Ness Monster.
To everyone else I hope you can hear the birds sing and the grass grow and find some music - the radio is wonderful just now.

Grandmafrench Thu 26-Mar-20 13:02:33

Soop , hurrah you sound cheery. Do hope that things settle quickly, and you get comfortable again. Love the little GC - and the cheeky Eric Morecambe way she's wearing those specs!

Grannmarie keep hitting us with those funnies. We all need a good laugh.

I've made flapjacks - enough for everyone. Help yourselves. I've also just put a loaf in the oven, so at least the house smells positive. Hopefully that emotion is going to wash over the residents very soon.

Annsixty you just keep that rock band thing going - ignore the younger generation - they have no clue as to how we used to rave. (Maybe just keep the lights on your trolley on dim, though, don't want the Party Police turning up and asking awkward questions) grin

CherryCezzy Thu 26-Mar-20 12:50:26

You've done it again Grannmarie brilliant! I love that 'little light relief too tanith .

Charleygirl there are, unfortunately, quite a lot of people who wouldn't do what you have done for your neighbours or am I just a cynic? You are right, the vast majority of people don't have any understanding of my epilepsy and many of them are qualified neurologists! Because I am a particularly rare case I was misdiagnosed for a decade. It's a long story. It's not just me in my neighbourhood not receiving any help though there are just not many community minded people. Parents with children are helping one another but even that is patchy.

soop Teddy is adorable. Still trying to find out what has happened to my friend but I did have a text from someone who thinks she can contact her church vicar. If she can we should get an answer as her vicar will know or be able to find out. Fingers crossed.

I'll pop back in later, I hope to bring cake.

Darling lovely lot. How lucky I am to come into our kitchen to find you here.

The UTI is brought about by the double prolapse problem. I have long understood that I shall have to deal with the prolapse possibly for the rest of my days. Far too many procedures. Far too much disappointment when, after a short time, the procedure fails to do what it was meant to do. So, like many Granspals, I accept something that I cannot change. I am one lucky lady. So, here I be. smile

There is a huge amount of catching up to do. I shall do my best to read through your messages throughout the day.

Here is the photo of Teddy that our granddaughter posted earlier today.

tanith Thu 26-Mar-20 11:47:25

A little light relief

Smileless2012 Thu 26-Mar-20 11:34:15

Grannmariegrin

Bellanonna Thu 26-Mar-20 10:56:14

Ah that must be so frustrating for you ann ?????
(Possibly a relief for everyone else!). Stay safe x

annsixty Thu 26-Mar-20 10:48:32

Good morning all and another absolutely glorious one it is here again.
soop sorry to hear you are unwell again.
To everyone else I really am TOYA.
Trying, like everyone else to make the most of it but can’t really do anything physical so my options are limited.
My GD is now working from home so I have to be quite quiet around the house.
No more loud rock music and singing along?
I am now officially a very old lady, I have a trolley with two trays and a sturdy frame to help me carry things from room to room and it is a brilliant walking aid as well.
My GD can’t believe how fast I can get around now!,

My S’s workplace closed yesterday but he and two colleagues are going in 5 days a week on rota covering 7 days to keep things ticking over.
At least he is not having to deal with the public now.

Keep positive everyone and have as good a day as you can.

Grannmarie Thu 26-Mar-20 10:22:15

Here we go..

Grannmarie Thu 26-Mar-20 10:18:44

Is it the vehicle you drive and the number after 3??

Bellanonna Thu 26-Mar-20 09:38:07

Me too, Dragonfly. I can’t think of a single one! Another clue please Charley
