Greyduster I had almost forgotten that Easter isn't so very far away. All the clocks in our house are now telling the correct time. My fault. I asked MacS to put them back an hour.

I have never heard of bitter cherry butter. What would one use that with? Do I need to get out more?

The heavens opened when I went to M&S but naturally it was a blue sky and sunshine when I returned. There was little if any fresh pasta on the shelf- a weird thing to run out of.

Charleyg I must admit that I haven't ever heard of, or tried, bitter cherry butter. It does sound delicious. I would possibly enjoy it with creamy rice pudding. I like creamy milk puds.

Scotland beat France. I am chuffed and hoarse and about to say good evening to one and all.

The sun continues to shine. The sea is teal green. All is peaceful. A good note on which to add that I am thinking of you all. Back with you in the morning.

soop, I took the lovely rainbow over Murrayfield as a good omen for Scotland. It was a well deserved win - the flower of Scotland has perked up!

Charleygirt and soop bitter ? butter is sometimes known as sour cherry butter or cherry curd. I don't make it myself, I buy it from the concession shop at the local garden centre. It is rather good with rice pudding ?.

Oh I do love Welsh cakes CherryC my youngest son used to live in st Athan we would often to walk to the nearby lighthouse were we could buy home made Welsh cakes. I’ve had a fondness for them ever since. On sunny days we would drive to Barry island for sandcastles, crazy golf followed by fish and chips. Lovely happy carefree days. I’d love to jump into your photo Grey breath deeply and walk. I think maudlin is a good word GrannyGravy it best describes my state of mind over the last few weeks and I suspect a good few more to come. It’s sounds better than self pity. I spent the morning with DiL. She held onto me and cried saying “it’s so dark, it’s so dark” it’s her blindness that makes me feel so sad. I get in the car and cry every time I leave her. I tell myself it’s my emotional tap working so it doesn’t overwhelm me. Hope tomorrow is a pain free annsixty I must go and clean my new kitchen. I’m getting used to it now but everything beeps at me. If I leave the fridge open it beeps, if I put something on the hob it beeps, the oven beeps, the microwave beeps when it’s finished as does the washing machine and dishwasher. Sometimes if more than one thing is beeping it’s hard to know which one is telling me off.

Oh morethan that sounds so hard for you both. Be kind to yourself. It's perfectly understandable if the tap flows when it hurts so much when someone you love is clearly in their own pain. Welsh ? s and hugs.

Some of you may remember that we were sad because we've not seen our beloved spaniel due to a family upset? We went for a walk on the seafront on Thursday and were delighted to encounter her. She was well and we enjoyed a cuddle, she was so excited to see us.

Your bleeping kitchen sounds familiar, Alexa bleeps in mine and she doesn't always switch off when I tell her to either. A few well chosen words are then sent in her direction.
I also managed to set off the smoke alarm this afternoon, I only took the Yorkshire Pudding out of the oven, more bleeping.

Evening All. No kitchen cupboard cleaning here today but we did weed out the DVD’s. I’m delighted. Mr C, aka the squirrel, didn’t even wince. Result!

Some of the family have been for ‘proper’ afternoon tea. Lots of praise. As the pastry chef had been to Sainsbury I must pass the praise on . Thoroughly enjoyed it all.

I’m pleased you have seen the little dog lins, sounds as if there’s no chance she will forget you. Love the toilet roll n&g. .

When our freezer was left open by one of those Mr or Mrs nobodies that inhabit many a home I wished it did have a beep. The washing machine, microwave and hob do all beep at us, sometimes helpful often not. As for the smoke alarm, it’s a monitored alarm and we can’t turn it off. Ear plugs are kept next to the toaster. .

Hope the wheels are back in your wagon soon ann. Congratulations to your granddaughter anno, you must be very proud of her. Aah. The curse of the clocks soop. Mr C recently said he needed to change the date on his watches. He did. A day later than it should have been .

There’s a need for sensible eating here too greyd. We seem to have eaten out a lot, , no idea how that happened, time to get back to home made soup and some simple meals.

My glass of chilled white is getting warm so I’m off now.

Morning all!

It’s blasted cold here again this morning as the newly repaired boiler just went on strike again last night! Totally frustrating as we seem to be throwing money at it weekly! The engineer who we have found to be totally trustworthy insists we don’t need a new boiler but I’m not convinced.

I have come to the conclusion that being cold ranks right up there with hunger for being miserable.

Having read your post Morethan I think more than a hug is required for you ! I’m sending alcohol!! AND chocolate . You have more strength than you know !!

How lovely to have a chance meeting with your beloved dog Lins , any sign of an offer of a visit?

I had cherry curd given to me at Christmas and we had it with strong cheese and crackers! It was delicious.

We are off ( to anywhere with heating quite frankly) to return the brick we bought for the new step last week as Grampys plan didn’t work ha! And there had better be cake too ....sod the diet!

Morning all. It’s a day off today. My son doesn’t need me. It’s hard to know where the line between helping and interfering is. My son and I have always been very close but and it’s a big but we are very alike so can see each other’s flaws. Spending too much time together and we get a bit...well scratchy with each other. Thank you for the chocolate and wine N&G I’ve been having rather a lot lately. Thank you so much to all of you for praying, sending positive thoughts for my DiL. I most definitely am not any of the lovely things you say about me.

Feelingmyage, wrote a pm for you but the easiest way to do the seed tape thing is to find it on YouTube, I looked at a few excerpts and made up my own seed tape from there. It doesn't waste seeds, I've used it for three years to good effect. Pm me for how I 'did it'!! Also, making your own is hugely cost-effective.

Although I've been making fun of MacS's recent habit of buying loo rolls, I am exaggerating somewhat. He has two multi-packs in the loft together with four rolls in the bathroom. He is not being greedy. He is being cautious.

Afternoon ladies, I've just dropped by with some cherry bake well tarts; not home made I'm afraid as I've been at the gym but from a local baker and very nice.

District nurse has been to change Mr. S's. dressing and says it's looking really good. The stitches should be gone by Thursday/Friday so hopefully he'll a bit more comfortable without them pulling.

Finished the kitchen cupboards yesterday so I'm ready when you are Charleygirl.

We weeded out our dvd's before we moved just over 3 years ago cornergran but have so many, it might be worth taking another look.

Thinking of you and yours morethan at this very difficult time.

How lovely it must have been when you saw your spaniel Lins, I hope you'll get to see her/him again soon.

Smileless that sounds really good. I would appreciate it if you could find 5 jars of marmalade which have gone astray. I was given 6 jars at Christmas by a friend, the contents of one were consumed but I have mislaid the remaining 5 jars. Tara enjoys marmalade but not that much and she would be ill. Will you be able to spare a few days? You can always bring Mr. S and I will care for him here- he will love the attention. You may also notice how his mobility will improve so that he may be able to go home sooner than you envisaged.

I've been having a busy day, inspired by that rare yellow thing in the sky---laundry, then blitzing the bathroom, then vacuuming upstairs, then cleaning all the outside windows I could reach, then a little sit down and---blast it, one of my earrings has gone, a favourite pair in silver and pau shell, and all the outside of the house. is either long grass or gravel. I always knew that housework is a pain in the a***, so why did I break the habit of a lifetime?!!

So much to catch up on in the kitchen, and so many new kitcheners. Welcome to you all.

morethan I don't think anyone could help crying when having to face what you are facing.

soop----have the bruises faded yet? I quite understand thatMacS likes to keep a little stash of loo rolls--you never know when they'll be needed as I found out over Christmas when DS was visiting for a few weeks. Instead of having to buy a 9 pack every 2 or 3 weeks, I was getting through a 36(!) pack every week. Heaven alone knows what he was doing with them all ---I couldn't bring myself to ask!

Feelingmyage---you are obviously a keen gardener. I bet you can't wait for the soil to dry out enough to start sowing those seeds in the seed tape. My raised beds are still sodden. Yesterday's leeks came out of the ground with about two pounds of mud on each root.
