More people are washing their hands properly after using public (so hopefully also their own) toilets. Hopefully this will become a habit so that they don't spread toilet germs around.

Feeling as sad as I do today I’m prepared to accept the environmental plusses but not things like people doing more cleaning and not hugging and quiet shops

Plenty of parking at the sports centre today and lots of room in the pool.
People are exchanging pleasantries. It's a good idea to try to think of positives at such a worrying time for everyone. We're all in it together after all.

Resulting from climate change

It was mooted that millions of people worldwide would die from disasters resulting climate change.

Pollution is way down due to the shut downs in China, in Italy so perhaps we can learn some lessons from this and change the way we live to avert even worse disasters.

Luca, I think you are missing the point of the post. Sandelf isn’t downplaying the virus, we all know it’s horrible and frightening and probably the worst thing since WWII. BUT during that time people had to keep going on and so do we now. I have a DD who is 8 months pregnant and works in a hospital with direct patient contact. I am frightened. To look on the bright side, just for a few moments, helps me.
My benefits are: less traffic outside my window.
No visitors.
Listening to music instead of tv as there’s too much doom and gloom.

Think of all the invites that you really don't want to attend.
You have a good excuse now.

Sandelf
I was reading about a resident in Venice. He was very happy as for the first time in years he could see his city?

“Plusses “ of a pandemic? Really? Over 4,000 people have died . Also As someone who will not now be seeing family last seen nearly two years ago as they do not feel it’s safe to fly long haul I’m struggling with that concept sorry

Lots of people are cleaning like they never have before.

The shops are peaceful.

People are not spluttering in public.

People smile and nod as a greeting (not the grubby grab).
