Good Morning Everyone,
Its just daylight here in Brackley and we have had rain overnight .
Today after breakfast will do laundry , then will go out to Buckingham and Bicester as normal .
Mind you where I live extra precautions have come into play as well.
Mick

If we are really to be housebound for weeks I fear that the increased death rate will be caused by frustrated and furious spouses who can’t escape their loved ones’ irritating habits! Not GNers, of course, who are above reproach .......

Seriously, I can’t think that not engaging in our normal pursuits will be good for any of us and wonder if we are trading one risk for another.

Good morning Auntyflo and all x

Good morning Michael and all GNs. A dull old day in South Yorkshire with rain showers forecast. I had a fairly sleepless night. We may venture out to a small plant nursery today (not a garden centre by the longest stretch of the imagination so it won’t be busy) to get some early ideas for the garden. Like others, we are trying not to run the gauntlet of this thing too much, but we spend a couple of hours with GS two days a week, and will have to decide how - whether - that can safely continue. I’m grateful for the technology that will enable us to, at least, face time him. Have the best day you can folks.

It's a bit like Christmas..."you can't eat that...."

Thank you Pittcity for my first giggle of the day! Love it.

Urmstongran Sat 14-Mar-20 08:53:49

I have refused to be seriously worried up till now, but it’s not looking good is it? ☹️

Ditto here Maw
I can’t decide if watching too much news coverage is skewing my sense of perspective?

Maybe I’ll just order a second porn star martini tonight ....

Pittcity Sat 14-Mar-20 08:52:04

Good morning from rainy Colchester. DS works in a supermarket and was on a week's holiday but has gone in as as much overtime pay as is necessary has been authorised. Usually there is no overtime pay in the budget!
DH was called by the company he retired from over two years ago to ask if he would be willing to return if needed...this is in public transport, not healthcare!
My usual activities are being called off gradually.
Think we might have takeaway tonight as the stuff in the freezer is for "in case". It's a bit like Christmas..."you can't eat that...."

Good morning Michael, Annie and all, from a damp corner of Berks.
We are supposed to be going out for our usual meet up with friends, for coffee and a chat, but I wonder how many of us will be there this morning. A couple were due to be flying off to Spain yesterday.
The sun is struggling to appear now, so looks as though it will brighten up.
Have a good day one and all

MawB Sat 14-Mar-20 08:44:24

(I blame the porn star martini ? Urmston )
Good morning all from sunny N Bucks. It is such a lovely morning you wonder how anything could beating in the world - then you look at the paper..?☹️
Quiet day getting ready for the family tomorrow - it will have to be birthdays plus Mother’s Day combined I suspect. I have refused to be seriously worried up till now, but it’s not looking good is it? ☹️
Wishing you all a lovely weekend and that all will keep safe and well.

Good morning from a bright but cloudy Staffs. Yes Ginny it is grape hyacinths-muscari-they were in my bouquet when we married. It’s our Golden wedding shortly-we were going to have a family meal at a local hotel but will probably call it off. DD2 lives in Yorks and her DH is a medic. He warned us last week to effectively “self isolate” and we have taken his advice so no clubs, choirs or even church for us! Truly thank God for FT! I realise it’s different if you’re on your own but we’re making the best of it. We do go for a walk outside every day and sometimes walk with friends too. Keep safe everyone!

So anyone wanting rice .....!!! Off out shortly to visit my mum in north Notts then DOHs mum in south Yorks and hopefully out for something to eat somewhere along the line. Good morning everyone,

It's a grey, damp morning today. It looks as if we have had rain through the night.

Not a lot planned for today other than the usual jobs for a Saturday. Had hoped to get into the garden to do a little tidying up, but it looks as if we will be in for a wet day.

Hope you all have a good Saturday whether you have plans or none.
? for those of you feeling sad or unwell.

NanKate Sat 14-Mar-20 08:33:11

Morning Mick and All.

We are now back home in a dull grey South Bucks.

We are relieved to be home and intend hunkering down as much as we can. I wonder how long before I go stir crazy, not long I suspect.

My niece emailed me from Northern Italy to say she was worried about us and to be vigilant, how nice that she cared.

Never realised how much I would miss the live sport. I do think we are lucky though that we live in an age where we have the Internet, so we can stay in touch with our friends and family.

Have a good day folks.

Good Morning Mick and all.
Thank you Susan. Our family are coming for lunch later so very much looking forward to that. Plenty to do so I'd better get moving.
You are very inventive with your Scrabble themed bags Marydoll.
Hope Saturday is kind to everyone.

Good morning from an overcast NE.
DH was out when I woke at 7.30, gone to the supermarket. He did this last week and it was quiet at the check outs.
Last week he got all we needed, remains to be seen whether the shelves were as well stocked today.
Look after yourselves.

Mythbirtthedragon Sat 14-Mar-20 08:22:11

Good morning from east London, wet and mild for now. We’re off to Southend today as (hopefully) the old car there is being taken for scrap. Instead of staying indoors and cleaning/clearing etc, we intend to have a walk along the front and pop into one of the cafes there for a late lunch. My one (paid for) working day this year, the mayoral election, is cancelled; just wonder when smaller gatherings will go. Fortunately I don’t do it for the money; just concerned about what will happen to those who are reliant on work to keep them afloat. Hope you have a reasonable day.

Susan56 Sat 14-Mar-20 08:08:34

Good morning from the Shropshire borders.
Boiler man due at 9 so hopefully we will have a warm house later??
We have decided to postpone our forthcoming holiday.Disappointed but after the last year of health problems and nagging from our children the decision is made.DH bought paint yesterday so will start the decorating instead.
Have a good weekend and stay safe everyone.
Happy birthday to Lins???

Gingster Sat 14-Mar-20 08:03:17

Dull and still breezy on the Suffolk coast. We usually have the runners arrive here on the beach for th Saturday 5 km. run. They arrive for 9 o’clock start. I wonder if it’s still on ?. I’ll keep my eye out for them. DH ‘s footie match is cancelled today. Oh dear I do enjoy a couple of hours peace and quiet. ?. Enjoy your fish and chips Bluebell. They are good here in Suffolk aren’t they! Yes it’s grape hyacinths Ginny. ?

Sar53 Sat 14-Mar-20 07:58:40

Good morning everyone from a damp Newport. Well we were on our way from Essex yesterday to come and see Wales v Scotland in the rugby 6 nations. Half an hour away from our hotel, on the Seven Bridge , we hear that the game has been postponed . Very disappointing. There are a lot of Scottish fans staying at this hotel as well.
Nevermind we had a lovely meal last night and are going to spend today in Cardiff, back tomorrow.
We'll just have to do it all again when and if the match is finally played.
Have a pleasant day everyone and stay safe.

Harris27 Sat 14-Mar-20 07:54:11

God morning all. It’s a cold but dry day in the NE. I am deliberating trying to go to local Aldi todo a mop upshop. Did online one through the week but feel I need to stock up. Off to see the manfreds tonight in South Shields if it is still on! Have. A food day all and keep safe.

dragonfly46 Sat 14-Mar-20 07:51:09

Good morning, damp here in Leicestershire.

Staying in today which is a treat. I was sent a video of my GD’s assembly yesterday.

Ginny I think you mean grape hyacinths.

Ooh I love Antonio Banderas * Urmston*.

Hope everyone has a good day.

BlueSapphire Sat 14-Mar-20 07:49:51

Good morning everyone from a very wet Northampton. Some gardening was on the programme today but that looks unlikely now. Just waiting for my Saturday paper to be delivered so that I can tackle the crossword.
Had a walk out to the local shops yesterday for some onion rings - I am having steak tonight and simply must have some onion rings with it! Also came home with a butternut squash to make some soup, so that is another job for today. And should be able to finish my book club book.
Hoping all have the best day.

Marydoll Sat 14-Mar-20 07:46:26

Good morning all from a wet and miserable Glasgow, where is all this rain coming from?

Off to the florists later to confirm the orders for the wedding flowers. I will wait until lunchtime, when it will be quiet and less risk of catching anything.
The wedding is Scrabble themed and the initials of the bridal and groom's and the parties will be incorporated in the thistle button holes and wedding flowers.
I spent last night sorting the Scrabble letters initials into bags with the appropriate tartan ribbon for each party.
I got into such a muddle, as there were so many. I was one short and couldn't work out what was wrong. I spent the whole night dreaming about Scrabble.?
I pity the poor florist.

Yesterday's car service was a total fiasco, as predicted.
I put the car in at 8am, DH followed me and we stopped off at Asda. The shelves were bare! This Asda is usually well stocked.
I was looking for bread flour, part of my usual shop, but there was none.
I put a message on the family chat, asking my children to keep their eye out for some. None to be had anywhere. ☹️
My DH read that rice will now be in short supply, as people can't source pasta. You heard it here first! ?

I usually get my car back after a few hours, but after trying to phone the garage four times, with no response and no promised call back, DH and I headed back to the garage at 4pm to find it would be another hour. I was raging, as it meant driving home through two towns in the rush hour and the day had been wasted.?
It used to be a family owned dealership and the service was exceptional, it has gone downhill so much.
I warned the young man at reception that I was going to have a rant, but it wasn't aimed at him, he was getting a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ review, the dealership were getting nothing.

Last night I got an email from the garage, with a video of my car's health check attached.?
I had never seen anything like it before. It was a video of my car with no tyres etc, and the technicians checking everything. It quite unnerved me to see my wee car like that

Have a good day, whatever your plans and as usual, my best wishes to all who are suffering.?
