I agree what a great superpower to have.

I once managed a brilliant “come back”
25 years ago a bitchy girl in our group said to our friend who had just returned from Barbados and looked amazing!” You must be so sore from the sunburn”. It was a lovely golden tan!!!
I said oh Helen, you’ve got something on your chin, what is it? she asked. Venom was my response!!!!!
It shut her up!!

I've always had trouble thinking up an answer to the question "If you could have ONE superpower what would you like it to be?"

I've finally thought of one: I would like to have the ability to hold time when someone is rude or nasty - or even just cheeky - to me in order to be able to think up a brilliant riposte.

(the phenomenon of thinking of a great comeback, but too late, is called "esprit de l'escalier".)

Can anyone think of a better one? wink
