Another 'polite-ish' explanation ...
Why is there panic buying of loo rolls?
Because whenever anyone around them coughs or sneezes folks sh** themselves.
We have to laugh or we'd cry!

Kitchen roll is NOT a suitable substitute for toilet roll, from a drains/sewers aspect!

We were told a joke by an acquaintance, this is the polite version:

Two aliens were looking down at earth from space. One said "I wonder what happened to all the humans." The other replied "I don't know, but they've got really clean bums!"

Son-i-l has been sawing kitchen towel rolls in half! I did suggest that it might be better to tear a sheet in half at the point of use! And definitely not to put it down the loo!

Mathematically this was inevitable (as it was the world over) as soon as the gov told us we might have to self isolate for 1/2 weeks.

I haven't seen anyone panic buying at all, apart from on the news) just stockpiling by worried forward thinking people - let's drop the bashing as the problem now is supply chain - the original stockpilers will be home self isolating leaving those others to catch up their own stock piling.

We've got to flag up who needs help in our community, that is the most urgent issue.

I guess if you had to self isolate and couldn't go out for awhile you wouldn't want to be short of toilet paper of all things?

Hysteria is catching maybe. We were surprised at lack kitchen paper last weekend. Perhaps people think it is a diarrhoea sickness. Who knows?
