Link not working

Oopsadaisy3 Mon 23-Mar-20 12:43:20

Can’t connect to the link, but I assume that it’s to do with holiday makers and second home owners arriving in their thousands .?

There is only 1 hospital in Cornwall and very few large supermarkets.

Irresponsible doesn’t begin to cover it.

Of course your link could be to do with Spring flowers...

SalsaQueen Mon 23-Mar-20 12:54:46

The link doesn't work

annep1 Mon 23-Mar-20 12:55:45

Oh dear it directs you to a link which is safe to open. Its about Charles putting up the rents of tenants and how they don't have a right to buy as the Duchy of Cornwall is treated specially and is exempt.
Its one of todays BBC news items.

Well, if he has to give Harry £ 20 million for living in Canada where else is the money to come from?

Not agreeing, just saying.

Pantglas2 Mon 23-Mar-20 13:19:39

Shocking! Wasn’t aware of the exemption for Duchy of Cornwall!

What is even more shocking is that people had solicitors acting for them when purchasing those properties an they didn’t pick up on it. I’d be onto that instead of whingeing and wringing my hands to no avail!

EllanVannin Mon 23-Mar-20 13:24:25

They deserve all they get---so long as it's kept to themselves !

annep1 Mon 23-Mar-20 13:27:33

That did occur to me Oopsadaisy ?

annep1 Mon 23-Mar-20 13:29:30

I agree Pantglas shocking indeed. Even if tenants knew, the whole system just isn't right.

Pantglas2 Mon 23-Mar-20 14:20:10

Actually my point was how could people be daft enough to sign something so obviously against their own interests if they knew about it! If they didn’t know, they need to tackle their solicitor who was paid to know.

There are lots of things unfair in life, why add your own stupidity into the mix?

annep1 Mon 23-Mar-20 19:14:57

I agree. But its the idea that King Edward could actually decide that all this land would provide income for his son. And that it still provides a vast income for Charles. Its medieval and rather sickening. But then the whole RF have this arrogant disgusting sense of entitlement.

Way to Go , annepl!

Anniebach I thought you might comment.

No one has been able to defend this.?

annsixty Thu 02-Apr-20 13:23:10

Because it is undefendable.
They are being treated like serfs in the Middle Ages.

QuaintIrene Thu 02-Apr-20 13:51:33

PCharles doesn’t pay for his legal representation. Carter Ruck do it all for free.
I don’t know if it’s common knowledge, but I know it’s true.

annep1 Thu 02-Apr-20 21:36:46

I agree annsixty. Just I expected someone to defend it.
PC doesn't pay for legal rep. I was going to say unbelievable but really it's not.

annep1 Sun 14-Jun-20 20:14:13

Just revisiting and wondering why certain folk didn't comment whom I would have expected to.

Happygirl79 Tue 16-Jun-20 10:01:51

Nothing surprises me anymore with our royal family

Parsley3 Tue 16-Jun-20 11:22:50

Well it is good to have a hobby and to think of his children’s inheritance. Will William have to pay inheritance tax when the Duchy is passed to him? Free legal representation!
Charles knows nothing of the real world.
And yet on other threads people are snidely posting about the marital status of women whose children qualify for free school meals. I despair.

annep1 Tue 16-Jun-20 14:56:31

I haven't read that Parsley but I do know many people are having it very hard at the minute. And life is a struggle for many all the time. No Fortnum and Mason food shopping for them. Sad really.
