I have 2 grandsons 9 and 7. Like many of your grandchildren their parents (or in our case our son) are needing to work from home and keep the boys occupied and not constantly on IPads.
I have devised what I call Nan’s Challenge. I have emailed a separate set of challenges for each one of them and said every question they get right I will give them 10p. They could get a pound each by the end of the week. Here are some of the 10 challenges.
1. draw a bird, colour it in and name it.
2. Identify the capital of 2 countries.
3. Gave anagrams of hippopotamus and dinosaur
4. Describe how to make a jam/banana sandwich.
5. Name 5 Football Clubs in the Premier League
I have told them they can look up answers on the Internet with their dad’s permission. Look in books, and ask Alexa.
I intend to ramp up a little he difficulty of the questions each week.
This idea was triggered by Kirsty Allsopp suggesting kids draw and colour in flags from around the world.
Hope this helps and you can give me some ideas for questions.
