Wouldn't it be nice if Sky et al....

I’ve had an email recently to say my tele subscription plus phone/internet connection is going up another £4 in April. It has already nearly doubled in the last year. There is little choice in internet connection here and tele package is one of my few “luxuries” As I am on a limited income I might try and have the “dreaded phone conversation” and see if it can be reduced at all. I seriously doubt it, profit is all!

I think you have a very good point vampirequeen. Sky announced a few weeks ago that despite live sports events being cancelled the subscription was remaining the same. At the very minimum I think they should now only charge 10% of their normal price since everything is a repeat. It is a total rip off and yes I also agree it's profiteering.

It's not the same as opening them to all. They could easily stream them so that more people could access them. Would be good for those who are relying on the TV during isolation or lockdown.

I think they have “frozen payments” on some of their channels already including Sports and live events.
