I agree Annecan . Many working for minimum wage putting themselves in the line of fire every day and as you say with no protection whatsoever. Well done the shop workers.

Yes well done to all in the retail sector who are working hard to keep things going for us. Nice to see store managers helping out too.

One of my nephews who is at college normally, had a part-time job at one of them but he left because he said the punters were vile. This is totally unnecessary. It is not his fault if the store was short of something.

They are doing sterling work. Our local have brought in a limit to how many people can be in store at one time. Also just one queue for checkout and you are directed to next available till.
This was being very efficiently organised and with good humour.

I agree. They must have to put up with a lot from shoppers. There must have been a huge amount of extra time getting the stores reorganised to respect the Covid rules and regs.
Brave checkout assistants too. Salute them all (metaphorically of course!)

Just returned from the chemist, everyone swathed in masks, aprons and gloves, no one allowed in the shop, and £3.62 for 2 packets of paracetamols, closed at 12.30 today and not open until Monday; onto small Tescos next door, one in one out, usual cheery staff, no protective clothing and open 7pm until 10pm (I think); shop well stocked.

Totally agree. My DD is a NHS nurse, as I used to be, and I know the clapping would have been appreciated, but like others here I feel very aware there's a lot of folk 'out there' who are doing a sterling job at keeping things going. This morning the bin men came round, the paper boy delivered, the people working on shop tills, who are under constant barrage are still battling away, but there's little thanks to this invisible army.

I would like to give a clap and cheer for them too
