I can't stop cooking!!!

For some reason I am going potty cooking during this crisis.
I am able to drive out to the shops & doing shopping for more elderly neighbours so I have no lack of ingredients but why I am so baking mad I do not know. We have home made bread, cakes, biscuits, scones etc coming out of our ears & all the freezers are full.
I suspect it is a self survival instinct setting in yet I am not really worried about the situation as I am fit & healthy so would expect to get a mild dose of the lurgy anyway.
Having daily walk & our Yoga teacher is putting classes on line everyday for us to join in so nor bored either.
Maybe it is something to keep me in kitchen as being with DH 24/7 is getting a bit of a trial. I married him for life but NOT for lunch!!

ExD When you right click on the picture do you see an option, 'Save picture as?'

If you click on that, the box should appear where you can name the picture and save it to your photos.

Hopefully!

Ooh, really fancy cake now! Will have a look and see if I've got enough in the cupboards to make my favourite teabread.

If you haven’t scoffed the lot cut it into slices, wrap in grease proof or baking paper. Then put it in a large sealable freezer bag slightly Separated if possible and then freeze. That way you can have afternoon tea whenever you fancy. Unfortunately you will have to supply your own butler and tea bags.

Why did I make these? Have given half of one to brother in law but the rest will probably go on my hipsgrin

Love the pictures merlotgran, but i can't copy them to share - can anyone tell a technical dunce what she's doing wrong? I highlight them, the R click and click 'copy image' but it ain't working for this one.

' all the freezers are full'?
You must have a huge family.

I made Scotch pancakes this morning, a bit too tinged but they should be fine.

I have another three over ripe bananas so that will be either banana cake or biscuits to make - again.

Waste not, want not.

I keep making soup - anything lurking in the bottom of the fridge beware you will be souped!

I wish I had the ingredients to cook or just eating it comes to that.

merlotgran Sat 28-Mar-20 14:43:29

Just made a gf rosemary and garlic loaf.

Somebody stop me from eating it, pleeeeeeeease? grin

rosenoir Sat 28-Mar-20 14:07:08

I was a can’t cook won’t cook kind of lady but the husband is now type 2 diabetic and with this virus so bought a Tom Kerridge low carb cookbook and I’m now cooking like mad but almond flour and coconut flour are really expensive.
No restaurants or takeouts is a great incentive.

I'm the same, cooking and baking like crazy and no room left in the freezer. But we are trying to make room there by eating all the ice cream that is kept for the dgc that won't be stopping by anytime soon. Of course that compounds the issue highlighted perfectly by merlot! It has crossed my mind on occasion that this must be the "eat, drink and be merry" concept. Oh well, we are enjoying for now and can diet later..

Love it merlot

Brunette10 Sat 28-Mar-20 13:31:35

rosenoir it's a biscuit based traybake with condensed milk, syrup, marg, ginger. It's so yummy. Let me know if you require the recipe. grin

Missfoodlove Sat 28-Mar-20 13:10:53

Keep it up!! It’s so therapeutic and you can always give some to confined neighbours.

rosenoir Sat 28-Mar-20 13:07:22

I usually only ever make cakes etc. when guests are coming, but I’m a bit the same at the moment. Since my barm brack (no fat, only one egg, plus I used up some GF flour) turned out rather well the other day, I’m going to make another. I have just enough dried fruit left.
