Easy biscuit recipe - no egg required

Made these biscuits today - I used to make them with the little ones - no egg required!

100g butter
50g sugar (I only used 30g)
150g SR flour (I used wholemeal)

Preheat oven to Gas 4 / 180 C / 160 fan.
Lightly butter two baking trays.
Beat the butter in a bowl until soft / add the sugar and beat again, then gradually add the flour.
Bring the mix together with your hands = soft dough.
Form into 16 pieces (walnut size) and place on the trays.
Dip a fork into water and press on the dough balls to flatten.
Cook for 15-20 mins.

A bit like shortbread! I might have a go at those. I love shortbread.

Years ago I used to make a sort of shortbread biscuit, but remember the recipe in imperial measurements as 2, 4, 6!

I know the 6 (oz) was flour, think the 4 was butter and the 2 sugar, but could be wrong blush
