I’d love to get some paint but I can’t think of anything else I need.
Seems that online shopping is booming. Am I missing out??‍♀️

Theoddbird Thu 02-Apr-20 11:50:27

I buy a lot online...except food. It is simpler and easy to compare. I am waiting for seeds to come at the moment and a Mr Motivator exercise dvd.

A kettle ours died and the local business that fixes small electrics is closed ,flowers for MIL's birthday ,earrings for GD number 3's birthday ,Wine for SIL's birthday though I might get him more on the actual day as he's been great doing homework with the girls and giving support to their mum. He's usually away 12 days out of 14 .I buy a lot online anyway so not a lot different

Just a new lap tray as mine just torn and all the little bobble bits going over the floor, and I do eat my dinner watching tv. And hubby bought hair trimmer. That's it.

Knitting wool. I have got enough to last me for several years in my stash but don't always have the right weight or colour for the pattern I want to do.

Alice bands as my hair is getting out of control.

Wilco are not only open for business but they are delivering too. They stock their own brand of paints as well as Dulux. They are operating a one out, one in policy, with very few customers at any one time.
Might be worth a visit /online order?

A 12kg bag of sunflower hearts bird food, little burgers are eating me out of house and home!
A bag of marine collegen powder as I was reaching the end of last pack.
A home hair highlighting kit to attempt to do them myself.
A personal thermometer, just in case.
A pack of two face masks for hospital appointment.
Online grocery shop.

There's a pop-up on my Gransnet page for clothes from David Neiper. I was interested, but the prices are out of my range. A very pretty summer 2-piece costs £100 shock.

Two weeks ago I ordered latex gloves and face masks A
as I have to shop being only 69 and not considered vulnerable... my husband is house bound ( or chooses to be), my daughter is on The List of shielded , my son is working from home and is trying to shop for himself and his sister. No cars in our family! The estimated delivery for gloves and mask is June.....

Stella14 Thu 02-Apr-20 12:37:01

Animal clippers, grooming scissors and nail clippers, dog shampoo and conditioner for my Poodles, since they can’t go to the grooming salon. They usually look so smart, I fear that will change from this weekend when they get ‘trim’ from me!

Thank you Craftyone for mentioning a trickle charger. Since my husband died in January I have been sitting in his pick-up once a week for 30 minutes running the engine to keep the battery charged. He had a Car Genie from the AA which links to an app on his phone and I get alerts when the battery is running down. He hadn’t driven it for a while so the battery isn’t in good nick. Now I have a solar powered trickle charger on the way.

Stella14 best go to Specsavers first ?
I think poodles look lovely when they have been clipped. They will think so too I bet.

grannypiper Thu 02-Apr-20 12:44:29

Liaise i might be teaching you to suck eggs but have you changed the batteries in the phones ? My cordless phones were crackling until we changed the batteries.

I want to buy a Dyson - I’ve wanted one for ages but the price seems extortionate. Nonetheless I really feel it would be a useful cleaner especially as I’m doing so much of it at the moment and my old one has useless tools.....any advice?

quizqueen Thu 02-Apr-20 12:50:43

I am not buying anything at the moment. I intended to order a digital piano before all this malarkey started but I would need someone to help me get it inside and put it together so that's not happening for a while. My granddaughter's birthday is mid May, I may need to order a present for her online.....and just show it to her over Skype!!!!!!

QuaintIrene Thu 02-Apr-20 12:50:56

Nana, I splashed out on a Shark vac. The one for pets. It was cheaper than a Dyson at the time on special. It’s brilliant. I can highly recommend.

Crazygran Thu 02-Apr-20 12:57:00

Not a thing as I don’t agree with it .Why should delivery drivers be put at risk delivering paint , clothes and other unnecessary items . Disgusting !!!!

seacliff Thu 02-Apr-20 12:57:41

I have always ordered online, as we are 20 miles from a largeish town. So may local businesses are doing it now, just try and ring them and ask.

20kg sacks of sunflower hearts, and top quality bird seed, for our peacock family and the wild birds. Free delivery from a pet shop 20 miles away, I rang with order. He does a lot of business in this area (out in the sticks). I left out payment in notes in a plastic bag, he put change back in it. I will sterilise with Milton tablet.

Also have been trouble getting cats chosen cat food, so ordered 6 big boxes on line. Again free delivery, had to wait 2 weeks, that was fine.

Finally a necessity, 1000 galls heating oil as we are low. OK price at the moment, due to a price war and no one using aircraft fuel.

We would like a few garden plants etc soon, so will be looking into that.
