Why don’t we have a bitching, shouting angry thread?

Where anything goes. It might allow the frustrated, angry or plain fed up to vent without spoiling other threads.

I do get shouty and angry about use of the ‘b’ word - please why use it?

suziewoozie Sat 04-Apr-20 08:22:21

I am shouting and angry about people profiting from COVID-19. Atm (still) the supermarkets, some holiday cottage owners and this morning a GP ( yes a GP) caught selling COVID -19 anti- bodies tests online, Philip Green and other businesses claiming help from the Government whilst sitting on huge personal wealth. There that’s better. The upside of this, is that the fundamental decency, care and compassion of those in my personal world makes my heart sing (and reduces me to tears) on a regular basis).

BradfordLass73 I could not agree more with you above post. I especially detest people who talk about others behind their backs. Occasionally those persons will even talk about people they do not know by any means other than association with others which is truly detestable behaviour.

Sadly we have such characteristics in some on this forum, and undoubtedly.they would be carrying out such as in threads suggested by the OP of this one.

Fiachna50 Sat 04-Apr-20 03:43:09

I thought we already had those.

I long ago came to the conclusion that some people like, maybe even need, their negativity and to try and bring others down - just as in real life.

I know a very miserable person who never fails to throw cold water on anyone's good news or exciting plans. She moans constanly and nothing is ever right.

Mostly we avoid her but I wonder what made her such a 'B-with an Itch.' She clearly enjoys upsetting people - very sad.

Because somebody would be bound to butt in and derail it by being nice grin

Oh dear, I had hoped my comment earlier might occasion a wee smile and maybe, just maybe encourage people to be kinder to each other sad smile

Well my rant - why do shops insist on putting the size 3 shoes on the very top shelves out of reach of small people, and size 7 shoes on the bottom shelf? I have yet to meet a 5' woman with size 7 feet and vice versa ? Same goes for bras - size 32" completely out of reach, larger sizes at the bottom ( though I suppose there are a few ladies who are tall and only 32" chest!). And, why do they only make swimming costumes in normal and extra long lengths, but no petite ones! As you can see from my rant, it's not easy being small!!

Artdecogran Fri 03-Apr-20 21:10:16

When I suggested this thread I thought people might take it to mean rants about anything. You know anything from animals to yo-yos. NOT each other. But there we go, I guess I’m the ever hopeful fool.
My rant would have been about bed linen manufacturers who don’t put size labels on their products. So you spend 1/2 hour putting a double size quilt cover on a king size quilt. Grrr ?

M0nica, point taken. ?

M0nica Fri 03-Apr-20 20:40:06

Grandad1943 I am not referring to any of the posterss on this thread. Just commenting that the people the OP would like to have migrate to the thread she suggests, would never go there because they would not realise that they were the ones referred to.

For all I know I may be one of them, but I do not recognise myself as such.

Grandad1943 Fri 03-Apr-20 20:33:06

M0nica if you are referring to my above posts, those on that thread on the evening I referred to need only look to see if the thread applied to them. However, no doubt they are already aware of that.

M0nica Fri 03-Apr-20 20:14:22

Except, of course, that nobody would think that the thread applied to them.

Grandad1943 Fri 03-Apr-20 19:50:35

sodapop time for some on this forum to learn some decency and respect for others and look for the same in themselves

I will not be moving on anywhere, for what went on within the thread I referred to in my post @18:35 just ensures my determination to remain on this forum.

So you can look forward to my presence for a very long time ?

sodapop Fri 03-Apr-20 19:32:33

Time to move on Grandad1943

fevertree Fri 03-Apr-20 17:47:08

... I mean- bitching, shouting, angry threads.

fevertree Fri 03-Apr-20 17:46:10

There are plenty of those already! grin

Witzend Fri 03-Apr-20 17:34:37

That would IMO spoil it for those GNers who enjoy having an go at other people whatever the topic. They wouldn’t like to be confined to just one thread!

GagaJo Fri 03-Apr-20 17:23:25

I think sometimes the moderators watch and clamp down when it gets too bad.
