We all need strong government and although Boris haas shown some weaknesses he has shown very good strength in the role of PM and the government he has chosen. Therefore political differences are wholly unimportant now. We need Boris back in full health because without him there will be more difficulties ahead.

We also need his predicament to demonstrate to all those who have been and are ignoring the isolation and distances rules to realise they are just as vulnerable as he was and to change accordingly. Unity of our nation is paramount for us to be able to return to 'normality' asap.

GrannieIggle Tue 07-Apr-20 12:12:51

Please can we all agree to send out our prayers, thoughts, healing vibes to all those who are suffering...?

Boris is important and special, and there are many thousands all over the country struggling with this bug - they are also important and special to their loved ones.

Our lives would be diminished without any of them.

God bless everyone.

I wish Boris all the best but it has to be remembered that he voted against the nurse pay rise
My husband is working on the front line for the NHS.He was ment to have Easter of all Bank holiday cancelled and he working seven straight days with 3 days of
I worry for him every time he goes out of the door

I can’t say what I know without getting someone into trouble but I do know for a fact that nobody has died at QUEEN’S MEDICAL CENTRE, NOTTINGHAM due to lack of a ventilator. This is fact. If Harry Paterson’s brother has passed away in QMC it most definitely wasn’t because he needed a ventilator and one wasn’t available.

maddyone Tue 07-Apr-20 12:05:12

Gaga I hope your brother recovers, it must be truly awful when a member of your family is so ill. I send you best wishes.

notanan2 Tue 07-Apr-20 12:03:44

Yet people in higher places get better care

BJ is getting the same care as everyone else.
He is in organ failure.
There is no way to pay or name drop your way into an ITU bed, they are nationalised.

Im sorry your Brother us ill Gaja, but if he truely was as ill as BOJO and wasnt admitted to ITU he would be dead now.

You only go to ITU if your organs wont hold up out of it.

maddyone Tue 07-Apr-20 12:03:05

Smileless I agree with you. Boris Johnson is a human being with a family who love him, just like all of us on here. I’m afraid I find it shocking that anyone could approve of it. I would never say such abhorrent things about Jeremy Corbyn and I wasn’t a fan of him. If he were to become ill I would wish for him to get well, just as I do for Boris Johnson.
It was a disgusting thing to post.

Purplepixie Tue 07-Apr-20 12:01:11

I hope he gets through this ok. I know he wasn’t my favourite person at one time but I think he has certainly turning out to be the man for the job. I also think his girlfriend must be worried sick right now especially being pregnant.

SirChenjin Tue 07-Apr-20 12:00:28

I think you were absolutely right to post it as an alternative view paddyanne and I was surprised at the level of vitriol that was directed at you, rather than at Mr Paterson. I couldn’t see any posts which critically deconstructed his article - they all seemed to be along the lines of ‘you hate Boris, you’re horrible’. I think people are rightly scared though, so tensions are running high.

Bluekitchen192 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:57:51

No buts please. This really isnt about you today. Thoughts and prayers with the PM and his family today.

eazybee Tue 07-Apr-20 11:56:59

I am so glad that the thread was removed.

GracesGranMK3 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:56:41

The heading of the thread is "Boris in intensive care" and I am sure we all wish him well but you cannot get away from "so what next".

Very interesting listening to Gordon Brown talking about bringing all the ex-leaders together in this and other countries and then working internationally.

Barmeyoldbat Tue 07-Apr-20 11:52:03

Well said Paddyanne, your thread should never have been taken down.

Smileless2012 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:50:27

Just because freedom of speech allows you to say what you like paddyanne doesn't mean you should.

I for one am glad that thread was deleted, I was so disgusted by it I couldn't bring myself to post.

As for "smug and self righteous" did you not look at yourself in the mirror this morning?

GagaJo Tue 07-Apr-20 11:50:01

Yet OF COURSE I wish BJ well also. He is a human being and I would not wish anyone to suffer. I'd have thought that was obvious, but I'm making it even more so before I am attacked.

GagaJo Tue 07-Apr-20 11:48:32

paddyanne, hear, hear!

My brother has been VERY ill with CV (talked to my mum yesterday). They called 999 for him because he was so ill. No ambulance. He wasn't ill enough. My SiL was very scared for him. She's a carer and had deemed he was in danger of death.

Yet people in higher places get better care.

Hard not to be angry when it directly affects you and your family members.

wallers5 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:44:43

We need him back. Who else has such character in these troubled times.

paddyanne Tue 07-Apr-20 11:43:26

and agin Harry Paterson from Nottingham is very much a real person who lost his brother ebcause there was NO VENTILATOR for him.I'd guess they'll find "spares" for tory government who appear to be getting Herd Immunity by stealth .NO ONE wished Boris dead ,not Harry not Me ...take off your rose tinted specs ladies ,Boris is not his image ,he;s not sone cuddly bumbling bear .Wait until its one of yours in ahospital with no ventilators and see how you feel about him then,Either its sheer incompetence not following WHO advice or its herd immunity by stealth .I didn't SEE all the posts directed at me ,it was pulled before ai aswitched on my computer ,I wasn't surprised though because I had loads of pm's from women on here who support what Harry says and who dont want to take the flak from a few as they said smug self righeous grans who they've had run ins with in the past.

GNHQ ...I shall see how long it takes before this is pulled too.Freedom of speech is all one way on here if your not a tory its not allowed !!

tickingbird Tue 07-Apr-20 11:38:21

I know some who keep going to the shops just to get out. Elderly and young. They just don’t get it.

pat9 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:37:26

I was worried about him last week and my worst fears have been realised. Lets hope the care he is getting now stop it from escalating to the next stage and he is on the road to recovery soon

Lucca Tue 07-Apr-20 11:37:03

This is all reminding me of my mother -a lifelong Tory voter- which is fine but observing her over the years I always thought that a man eating crocodile could be a Tory prime minster and that would be fine and if the messiah himself led the Labour Party she would still have loathed him.
I myself am fairly apolitical.
I repeat I wish Boris a speedy recovery so he can be there for his baby.

SirChenjin Tue 07-Apr-20 11:36:48

I agree Ilove

I wish everyone who has the virus a speedy recovery, especially those who are in ICU - it’s an awful disease. I also wish all the staff on the frontline the very best too, they are absolutely amazing people just doing their jobs in horrendous conditions and often without the equipment they need.

Gwenisgreat1 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:35:28

Maybe some of these stupid, ignorant people who ignore the lockdown will realise they are just as vulnerable to this horrible virus as the next person!! Be it on their heads that they continue spreading it, and the lockdown continues!!

notanan2 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:34:33

I feel sorry for everyone with this virus, including Boris. The country will run pretty much the same without him, though. Why all the weird hysteria about one individual?

Because its not just one individual.
Everyone knows a "Boris" : a seemingly full of life middle aged man. If this hits him it can hit anyone.
Because we empathise with his pregnant partner
Because the rest of the government are coming down with it too.
Its not just about Borris

Charleygirl5 Tue 07-Apr-20 11:34:31

I cannot stand sight or sound of Boris but I do wish him well. I would never wish ill of another human being during these very strange times.
