Good Morning Everyone,
Its dry with some high cloud this morning in Brackley .
Today , a shop and get a paper to read plus TV magazine.
Mind you where I live , it looks like the lockdown as started to cause arguments amongst residents.
On a personal note , I am quite content to carry on with this situation, staying in and in the back of my mind thinking of more enjoyable days to come when things change.

Good morning Michael and all GNs. We missed the moon last night as it was behind cloud, for most of the evening, but the sun is out this morning, and DH has been told by the doctor that he was put on the shielding list in error and can take a daily walk as long as he stays away from people. Much relief all round. I slept badly last night so feel like a limp rag this morning. Hey ho. Have the best day you can, folks.

I don’t know how anyone could manage to run on the beach Gabriella it’s hard enough walking !

gillybob Wed 08-Apr-20 09:05:31

Oops crossed posts with you there Marydoll .it took me so long to type mine out it’s practically out of date grin

So sorry to hear about your SiL’s behaviour and poor you having to try and sort it all out. No wonder you had an angina attack . Sadly I can’t offer any advice but please take care, you are very precious to us .

Apologies for forgetting to mention Mr Gramarretto’s scan today too. I hope all is okay .

Lovely photo of that amazing moon Gabriella smile

I'd love to go running on that beach Gillybob. I bet it gets chocka in Summer. ?

Morning everyone ! I’ve started the day feeling half dead so am hoping things get better. I was late going to bed and then found the cistern on the downstairs loo was leaking. I was prepared to hold Mr Swizz responsible until I heard the drip ! Don’t know what the position is with getting a plumber !
Horrid night with chronic migraine so have woken up late with palpitations now !

The moon was spectacular over the shimmering sea last night . The sea had been extremely calm all day and it was difficult to find the horizon. Sky and sea melted into each other. Magical. Prepared the veg plot for our seeds yesterday and will sow them today. We were shattered by the end . Must have a more restful day today. Trouble is there’s always something to be done and it’s tempting to carry on. Will try to finish my book club book today. It’s not great and we have a zoom meeting next week. We intend not to shop for a couple of weeks but my elderly s i l relies on me to get her a few bits in the co op. I feel obliged to get them, but I’m not happy in there. The staff dont wear masks and don’t adhere to the 2 metre distance. I think we’ll rely on the corner shop. We can get most things in there we need. It’s quieter with fewer people if you go at the right time . Think it’s going to be a beaut today so sunhats and suncream on . We had red faces last night . A calm and peaceful mind to all

Good morning from the NE coast where we have a bright and sunny start to whatever day it is today.

I will need to call into “that place” for a few hours today and gather some more cr*p/paperwork to bring home. I ordered some printer cartridges for my home printer nearly 2 weeks ago and the tracker says they are on their way but I need them quite urgently now. I also have to keep a log of visits for insurance purposes.

A stressful supermarket shop for my dad and myself later today. I was like a quivering wreck last week , with people shouting at each other “your going the wrong way” if you accidentally double backed and didn’t follow the directions of the arrows . I was convinced my CC would be refused at the checkout (it wasn’t) but boy was I glad to get out of there, it was horrible.

My DH and I have been plane spotting too Harri we normally see a lot sweeping over the coast as they turn into land but very few these days. My DH says that the only ones he has seen lately are cargo planes passing over. I don’t think Newcastle airport is even open.

A photo of our deserted beach yesterday afternoon. There were a lot of footprints in the sand and I wondered how long they had been there as there wasn’t another soul in sight. I often walk on the beach and have a good cry and yesterday seeing is so empty, it felt like the world had ended and I was the only one alive . I even ran a crazy narrative in my head about what I would do if it were true. (Yes I’ve finally flipped folks) .

Well I hope we all have the best day possible in these strange and worrying times. Thinking of all my lovely Gransnet friends.

Love Gillybob x

Good morning all from a cloudy Glasgow, it's 8C here, rising to 12C, that's as good as it will get!
Mick, glad to hear you being so positive.

No more clandestine walks down in the quiet wooded lane behind our house for me. People have at last discovered it, it is like Argyll St on a Saturday afternoon.
Our normally quiet cul de sac is also very busy with strangers exercising, runners, cyclists, dog walkers etc. It's far too risky for me to leave the house now, so it will be the garden for the next 11 weeks!

DD manged to get a Tesco slot last night and used it to get things she thought I would need. She phoned trying trying hurry me up choosing items, before she lost her slot, whilst DS2 was talking to me on my mobile.
I had a déjà vu moment and a feeling of great clarity, I realised I had turned into my mother, when DD started getting impatient with me! grin.
My mother had no concept of time restrictions and sense of urgency and here was my daughter getting ratty with me for the very same thing, faffing about unable to decide what I needed and at the same continuing a conversation with my son, while she was getting more and more annoyed!
Note to self: must try harder!

My day will be spent sorting out the pickle my recently bereaved sister in law has gotten herself once again into with technology.
When my BIL died, she hadn't a clue what any of her passwords were, as BIL did everything for her.
DH and I spent ages getting everything sorted after he died, then she would either change the passwords or cancel, then re-instate online accounts.
I am very worried about her mental health, as she is displaying some really strange behaviour, but I'm stuck here and unable to go round to her house to check on her.
In the last six months, she has had two Kindles replaced after breaking them, broke the charging port on the third one, which is now out of warranty, as it was a replacement. Bought two new ones in the last few weeks, sent them back and has now bought a third one.
She has another one coming tomorrow, but is now talking of sending that one back too. I'm at my wit's end. She is doing exactly the same thing with Kipling purses and I have to keep printing returns labels for her.
Somehow, she has managed to change the password on the wifi and lock herself out of her Amazon account, but doesn't know what the new ones are, so she has no access to the internet and wants me to sort it all out. DH has lost all patience!

Although she has an iphone, she can't get emails on it. I was trying to work out how to fix that, without having any contact with her. It would mean when she locks her self out of accounts, at least we can receive email links to reset.
Since last night I have had a string of rambling messages, late into the night and early this morning. I'm at my wits end.
I had an angina attack due to the stress early this morning, which woke me up.
Sorry about offloading on everyone, this is meant to be an uplifting thread, I just need to get it off my chest and I will feel better.

I noticed AmericanPie, posting, so welcome to you and all the other newbies.

Have the best day you can and those who have exciting days out planned to the supermarket, enjoy. I never thought I would be excited or envious about a visit to a supermarket!

For all those with worries about health and family, (((hugs))).
Grammaretto, I hope all goes well at the hospital today for your husband, at least you will find a parking space easily!

I'm off to post my daily maths puzzle for the lockdown group. I'm late today and I need to keep them on their toes. grin

Good Morning from another sunny day in Fife. Can't believe we are sleeping longer at the moment and just about had a fit when I saw 8.40 on the clock hopefully it's doing us some good though. Have a letter to post today so will tie that in with our daily walk. Getting a FaceTime call from DD and DGS's so can't wait for that. Hopefully another peaceful day for us. Keep your chin up everyone we are all doing much better than lots.

Lins1066 Wed 08-Apr-20 08:50:51

Good Morning Mick and all. Partly sunny and cloudy here on the S Welsh coast. Our prescriptions were delivered by a local Covid 19 volunteer group yesterday, for which we were very grateful. They are also doing shopping and phoning elderly residents. DS phoned yesterday afternoon, it was so good to hear his voice. I had a wobble on Monday, everything seems so overwhelming at times, fortunately Mr Lins is as strong and steadfast as ever.
Have a wobble free day everyone.

Good morning all, rather grey here. Must do some cleaning and some admin today. Managed a walk yesterday in Bushy park, everyone was being sensible about social distancing. Keep well.

Good morning from yet another glorious day in Essex. I really feel like I'm on holiday when I wake up and then reality hits me. But think we must enjoy the sunshine while we can! Had Iceland delivery yesterday and the friendly driver told me he had 135 deliveries to do. He was wearing a mask and gloves and left everything on the doorstep. There were some duplicates and strange substitutes as though someone packed it in a hurry but was grateful to get it all. Had car chat with DD last night. She is back at work on the front line NHS after being ill for 10 days. Not sure if it was the virus as not tested but sounded very like it.
Have Facetime chat with friends this evening, so had better make an effort to look presentable as don't want them to think I've let myself go!!?
Have a good day everyone and hopefully the sun will shine on you?xxx

Good morning from the Shropshire borders where another sunny day is forecast.

Good Morning all from East Staffordshire, another bright start to the day.
‘Working’ from home again today, no work at the factory at the moment.
I will take the pooch out later, I am learning not to go as soon as I get up because that makes for a very long day for her and me. I am trying to stay in bed on days I am not working as I am usually up at 5, managed to push it to 8am today.
I will get a bit of cleaning and maybe a cupboard clear out in one of the spare rooms. I will do my Joe Wickes workout this afternoon and also this evening.

Take care everyone and stay safe ❤️

Good morning campers...rise and shine ?☕
It's a grey day in Godalming though not particularly cold. No wind anyway.
Watered patio pots then went in my run, not a soul to be seen but I did spy a bus when I arrived at the end of towpath in the town centre.
I never normally take my mobile with me but in this occasion I did, for the purpose of taking the photo on this post.
I'm going to shop today as delivery delayed until tomorrow and want bread and fruit.
Call from ex last night, very unusual. He's shipping some foodstuffs from Ireland...? I hope it's got nothing to do with seaweed or fish ?
One time when he was on a long trip, I asked him to send some flowers when he arrived so I knew he was ok.
Three days later a van arrived with a crate of flowers swaddled in moss, sent from a friend's flower farm in Spalding.
I had to borrow extra vases. ??????
Right, time to decide what to wear to join the GBP at the shops so better get going.
Have the best of days, make the most of the little things we can do and try not to think of the things we miss. We can and we will get by ?
Take care and ?s for all. ?

Morning all from a beautiful sunny north Wales- can’t decide which is nicer, that moon last night or the sunshine we’re having!

My friend’s little grandson is off ventilator and doing well which is a huge relief all round - hopefully home for Easter! Thanks for all your kind thoughts x

That ham sounds delicious Bluesapphire save me a slice for my sourdough sandwich please!

A quiet day pootling around methinks x

Good morning from a sunny NE.
The moon was spectacular last night and was just outside of the bathroom window so I stuck my head out and just gazed at it for a while.
Had a walk round the garden yesterday afternoon and saw two planes in ten minutes, shouted to DH to check where second one was going and he said Amsterdam to Los Angeles. Normal life does carry on.
Watched all the episodes of Liar, enjoyed it but policing a bit far fetched.
Kedgeree for lunch today as we now have eggs, DH brought a tray of thirty from the supermarket.
Weather is warming up so enjoy but stay safe.

Morning All

Another bright sunny spring morning in the north of Norfolk, with a few fluffy clouds. Some have a bit of a grey look about them but not enough to rain. So we'll be out polishing the garden again today. I've made a start on weeding the grass that's sprouting in the camomile path. It's been on the Must Do List for some time and is quite relaxing. Probably the aroma of the camomile!

Good morning Mick & all from sunny Nottingham.
Called to see my niece & 4 week old great nephew on way back from BIL’s funeral, she stood at her front door with him & us at the end of her drive. I held him when he was a few days old & look forward to cuddles again.
Waiting for phone call this morning to collect my work computer to work from home.
Take care all & stay safe.
Have a good day everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I was sent a photo of the wonerful moon . Looks ok weather so far.
We are venturing out later to the hospital for DH scan. I am stupidly excited as I havent seen the outside world for weeks. We can't see the street from our house though we can usually hear it. Now we hear woodpeckers and owls. I will miss this peace if and when things go back to how they were.
Stay safe everyone.

Good morning from a bright, not quite sunny Manchester. The moon was stunningly beautiful last night. Tried to take some pics with my phone but couldn't do it justice. It felt so peaceful just staring up at it. No traffic, everywhere was quiet. First time in weeks I felt anxious free. The world is still beautiful even with all that is going on around us. Another nice moment yesterday, gs1 walked past the house with his daddy. First time we've seen him in 6 weeks. He was shouting through the gate, love you, smiling and chatting, what a treat. Just wanted to reach out and touch him but to see him was enough. More of the same today, chores, walk, garden. Have the best day you can. (((hugs))). flowersfor those with extra worries.
