A bit of good news for a change!

Lovely!

Oh how wonderful. You'll have a lovely time watching the family. I do envy you. Here we have Greenfinches, Goldfinches, Blackbirds and some lovely big Rooks who drink from the pond. I'd love to have Swallows but ours is a modern one-storey bungalow so it's unlikely.

Ours nest in a bedroom of a derelict house next door. I dread the day when the developers will move in and evict the birds. Until then, I will cherish the swallows while I still can.

How lovely chicken I’m sure there are some now in our part of the world but we can’t get out to see them

DH says he saw house martins this morning. If he's right, they'll be a couple of weeks early, too.

I wonder if the relative quiet and improved air quality during their journey has made any difference.....

Yes we have had them nesting in the barn, I know they are meant to be lucky but they do poo a lot.
